brandon.mol
The steel sleeve pivots in the urethane, which is a rounded hole. It's kind of hard to explain until you have it in you hands. Those pu rings go on top and bottom with the flat side against the bushing just to center it vertically. The Bushing is rock hard with NO flex at all... Its like an inverted ball and socket. covertrussian
I saw the taper in the bushing right as I was posting that image, wasn't sure if it was just shadows or part of the design. That's really cool though, looks like the BL/BP AVO's use the same design too. Looks like I'll be saving up for a set and just sell the Prothanes. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
GTEASER
The AVOs are by far the best design. blklgt05 has been running them in his 2010 LGT since the car was new and he has over 110k miles on the car without issue. covertrussian
That's actually good to know, with the constant movement inside the bushing I would be worried about long term reliability, especially as dirt and grime gets in. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
GTEASER
blklgt05 is in SOCAL, so admittedly, he's not getting the dirt and grime in there from foul weather like the east coast gets. covertrussian
Yeah even my whiteline's with dust covers had some dirt in them. As long as they have good warranty I don't too much. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
smoop1
Got mine here: http://www.velocityshop.com/product/hardrace-front-lca-bushings-large-impreza-grb-legacy-bl-bp-bm-br_805.html Ended up at $92 shipped for the pair. velocityshop lists the same part number (6840) for both the GR/BL and BM; however, hardrace has a different part number (7172) for the 5th gen: http://www.hardrace.com/Product_detail.asp?id=1370 i'm curious as to how your install went; perhaps with more compliance (versus poly), the wider, shorter rubber bushing fits better in the narrow, taller opening of our lca's. for a daily driver, i like the idea of a longer-wearing, higher durometer rubber bushing with less NVH than a poly piece. cww516
Well, I'll let you know when I finally get around to installing them... I've been waiting for other pieces to fall into place (second car, mostly) before going off the deep end on mods, so these (and my springs, shocks, rear LCAs, downpipe, etc.) are currently installed on the shelf in the back of the garage. if someone else has another set of bushings that are known to fit the 5th gen, we could compare measurements to make sure they'll fit. covertrussian
I think I'm gonna try to get some AVO bushings in the future, the 4th gen bushings are not a good enough fit and make noise. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
brandon.mol
60.0mm diameter, 30.0 tall. Measured with vernier calipers. The diameter is the surface not the lip at the top. covertrussian
I'm surprised it's only 30mm tall, I measured the arms to be 34mm tall. covertrussian
Yes, that thread. Link your how-to in the Sticky post as well. Where did you order these from? Will do, in process of resizing them right now. I ordered these from Cygnus Performance during their BlackFriday sale, they weren't even State side yet, thus weren't listed either, but since they are a SuperPro dealer I figured he could get me in on a set. The price shipped was less then what Avo's are, and since SuperPro has an amazing warranty it was a no brainer. They arrived Jan 2nd, but since it was a frigid wasteland around here, I waited till Monday to get them installed. The results are awesome, no more creeks! 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK

covertrussian
So will these solve the front end clunk issue? Depends on what's causing your clunk. If it's swaybar end links, or swaybar bushings, then no. In my case it was 05-09 Prothane bushings that I retrofitted before. Either they were wearing out or went dry, so they started creaking and creating a loud thump over speed bumps. http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=260620&d=1515650474 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
