Worked great till stock tmic end tanks let go then a call was placed to Brian at racerx and his tmic was sent out. His charge pipe wasn't available at the time. Still in development phases. Then head gaskets started leaking and build began. FMIC FTW will be next. I'll organise op to better show my progression soon. Hope this helps. solgt
I'm sorry guys. I read my post and doesn't make sense. I've had a mountain road with potholes of life recently with my boys' two surgeries, work, schools.

dsanford1029
After about 3yrs of and modding figured I'll share. I drove it stock for a couple months. Flashed the Cobb ots 93 before going further for S&G to see if it really made a difference and suprise! It was. A very welcome one at that. Part 1. With the engine out, heads off, inspection was scrutinized for warping of heads or any other possible major worries. None found so progress insued! Was it something you wanted to try out? What is the purpose of the resonator? Did it increases your airintake? FLlegacy
The resonator keeps intake noise to a minimum, its debatable if it does anything performance wise.
Humble Rumble
Back a few years ago, HKS made an intake funnel that would take the resonator's place that did offer a very modest bump in horsepower and slightly cooler intake air temperature. However, as I recently found out, that part has all but vanished from the face of the earth, and any store still listing it as purchasable will not be able to deliver. 2012 Legacy 3.6R Build Thread 5th Gen Legacy BM/BR Body Kit Compendium Thread

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk This is my factory airairbox looking at it from the bottom. Front facing away. The resonator blocks this opening and reduces that diameter at the bottom of said resonator to a 1-2mm opening. To me that's free horsepower. Definitely not enough to tune for but does allow more airflow to filter. Literally the 1st mod I did. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160906/b5c4c6a60ea7e474255cce6b1c79b571.jpg
ChrisCrash
Not to jack your thread but I did the same thing early on and just to be extra careful I cut up an extra filter I had to fit to part of the jug and popped it back in http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160906/215b9a1d4e1b88d09d3af499d6365b60.jpg

ChrisCrash
You don't need to, this hole is pre-filter. Water will find its way into just about anything. Even though the chances are small Im not risking getting my dry filter wet. When I removed my jug it was plenty dirty so Im not going to risk getting additional junk in there for the sake of a little sound and air.
cww516
Should help with keeping sticks, mice, or small children from finding their way in, too. Mine's wide open as well, no issues so far, but I did consider covering it.
GTEASER
I would think that a piece of stainless steel screen and a radiator hose worm drive clamp would suffice to keep debris out. There is a restrictor device of some sort inside the slave cylinder.
