  1. I got it done. The tabs just off the subframe you see in the pic are the engine mounts. It's in my thread towards the end about it. Fixed the link.
  2. This is the link for my car for sale on craigslist https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/cto/d/rockville-2010-subaru-legacy-gt/7465820519.html Its also listed on fb market place https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/507993864040729 I'll import the other pics from the listing to post here. Bunch extras minus the engine come with car. Basically all the mods i did and have for it when injector checked out. As well the injectors. They have been gone over by Injector Dynamics and ready for use. 7k.
  3. Hello all! Things are falling into place. This year is looking good to get back on the road!
  4. If you are really interested in buying it from let me know and we will speak outside the forums.
  5. Rust free body and minor nics on hood. Likley be asking between 6-9k. Dependig on what goes with the car.
  6. There are a few reasons; Only good parts left of the motor are the crank, con rods, maybe cams, passenger side head and maybe the block. Been advised the block will need to be bored more than 10mil over, which can cause oil burning issues. All oiling components are toasted, needs new cam oiling sprocket a coil pack and a few other things. So unless I get it bored for sleeves need new case halves, then sent to outfront motorsports or just get them sleeved, which is basically a whole new engine build. Shit a comparable block from iag is 8-10k Going sleeved and full send turbo is a wet dream of mine. Just getting it back on the road will cost 5k or more and i just spent a butt-load of between the trans and last engine build. Another 7-8mo with it collecting dust or sell it. I mean I dont want to sell it. Just seems smarter to cut ties before another 10k goes poof. Looking at the return on investment here says each down time only nets 3mo fun. That's 10k for 3mo up time and then 9mo or more to save and rebuild. I dare not say how much in totality ive spent on it.
  7. The sale of this car will be available soon. Gathering info and pics.
  8. I found using a longer handle for the ratchet worked best. The standard lenght 1/2in. wasn't enough to offer leverage. First time removing an engine done!
  9. Here goes another [emoji33] story. Cylinder #4 has either toasted its piston rings or burnt a valve. Either way that was before all the crud goin round (March) and it has sat since. This weekend I started to get things rolling. First was removing the motor. And i get stuck getting the trans bolt from bottom drivers side. Otheriwse the motor is ready come out. I can get a socket on it just getting space to break it free is not available. Used a wobbler and extensions just not enough space to get it broke free. Spent past few hours from top and bottom. Nada. How the piston or valve got burnt is to be decided. Having pulled my back yesterday makes things interesting to get done to say the least. Of course it happened right?! Hahahahaha! It great the kids get to turn wrenches with their dad and they have fun! Priceless.
  10. Got almost everything ready to pull the motor. Only have engine mounts and couple trans bolts. Just gotta get a hoist, and a truck to get it here[emoji28].
  11. I got the car back just before Christmas and it has been a fun ride! Works great no issus with the transmission or driving. The engagement the clutch is mechanical notch feeling not the sloppy cable even with short throw and bushings and plates! Going through the gears is so rewarding. Cruising the highway with longer gears means lower rpms, but hauling mail time seems a light press of the go pedal. Turn the dccd controller on and you can tell the difference in front wheel control. I mean if you are on the fence about swapping drive train. Then let me tell you do it! Is it expensive? Hell yeah it is! Expect around 10k depending on what you have set as goals. I make over 400 so a standard trans with treated gears isnt going to survive launches. Maybe if I baby drove and didnt want to go to Mexico for shenanigans i will survive another few years maybe. Thats my take. Is it worth it? If you plan to make 380 and over and have fun with it then yes. Not in the ballpark, maybe 350? Keep factory trans and rebuild it. I will get a list of what all was upgraded for this. Thanks guys.
  12. It's back! It drives very well and the shifts are just leagues ahead in superior feel and engagement as well with the clutch. Rpms are lower at cruising speeds. Having the dccd controller is a bonus. I mean what more can i say besides thanks to Andrewtech for all the hard work!
  13. Maybe send another email about the mounts. Who is Gary?
  14. An STI drivetrain will be put in place of the current setup. Trans, rear dif, drive shaft, dccd controller, new clutch will be main points. But it is going to HAPPEN!!This will be a huge leap forward to be able to drive a daily driven bulletproof monster!
  15. Vote for the 20% tint. Will def help keep that leather interior cooler!
  16. A 2016 sti trans, rear diff, axles, drive shaft, dccd will be bought next day or two.
  17. That's the manifold for me. Need a spare to send to fab guy to make me/us one and 900+beans. Trans let go so this took priority. I will ask about him for you no worries. Wish the same for the fabled ETS manifold for our cars. Priced high but it was mint. People complained about the price ,only a few bought it and they destroyed the jig so no more. Same money now will get customized header and ewg made. Since no current item is available I'm not sure what constitues outrageous. Over 1500? Under 500? Parts and labor time will make the cost. I will be biting a huge chunk for r&d so your cost if he makes them will be less. Trust me. I know this can be a big thing for us. 1 guy did it and we have no info on dimensions and its gone sold. Same with another guy that had the ets. Sold it with the car. Running out of current members that are willing to take it this far. How many actually want that 400+whp? To have a real legacy sti?
  18. I can get some pics and measurements. I dont have extra money to have more sets made, if I did, sure thing. After mine are made it will give a better idea of cost.
  19. So if there are more brackets made, does that mean you want to do the same?
  20. The biggest thing I took from that video. Is a tuner may need to adjust timing/firing in order to actually benefit/use using a lightweight crank pulley. Personally I have been advised against it. Even for looks.
