AirBorne1Cav
Yeah, it was kind of dissatisfying cutting wires on a new car, but I've done it so many times I felt comfortable with doing it. In saying that, If your not committed to cutting wires, the iJDM option is a better route. I understand everyone isn't going to want to go this route, but I figured I would write the post and let people know about it so they don't end up cutting wires if they don't want to. securityguy
I'm with you AirBorne...I am an EE and have been cutting into car wiring since I was in Junior High School so, for me, not an issue of being "uncomfortable" but cutting into a brand new car to replace turn signal bulbs. securityguy
Mine came from iJDM today...now just need to find the time to pop them in:)Â Geoff - you really need to debadge your rear and get that "SEWELL" lettering off your car...makes it look horrible. I hate when dealers put their names on my car. First point of business is to get it the hell off;)

1692
Mine came from iJDM today...now just need to find the time to pop them in:) I think mine took a total of 30 minutes for replacing all 4. On the rear lights, there is a perfect little shelf over the light housing that you can put the "decoder" box on, and doesn't interfere with anything else. I just used some 3M double sided tape and stuck it right there. As for the front lights, there is a metal part that runs right under the lights that is a perfect place to mount the box, and the wiring is just long enough for it. I did use some dielectric grease on these connectors and also taped them up to prevent any moisture or other crud getting in there. Probably a bit of overkill, but figured it wouldn't hurt! AirBorne1Cav
Question - Has anyone tried installing LED bulbs WITHOUT resistors? As I talked about earlier during my installation I had to cut some wires to make everything fit right. Today I went out to try and clean up the job & make it cleaner, I disconnected the load resistor and installed just the LED to see what happened, and no hyper flash.....?  I've never installed LED's in a blinker location without load resistors before, but now I'm wondering, do we even need them? Maybe it's just temporary that they were working right?  Anyone care to weigh in? This would save everyone some $$$ if we find out we don't need load resistors. Went to drive and turning off my street hyperflash. AirBorne1Cav
I tested hazards and blinkers, both with normal blinker speed. The car was parked and key in the ACC position.
andrew_l_s
Huh. What bulbs are you using? Have you swapped all 4 for LEDs or just 2? AirBorne1Cav
All four are swapped for LED, the other 3 were plugged in with the resistors. andrew_l_s
1 resistor might draw enough current to prevent hyperflash, so if you had one in the back and removed the front one, or vice versa, you might be fine. Most likely a different story if you pull both resistors on a side.
