  1. I moved across the country and started a new job... so this has dropped to a very low priority for me for the time being. If I get some free time, I will see what I can do. MrCobbs, did you look at the wiring harness inside the door that goes to the mirror? This is where we speculate the extra wires may be...
  2. Me neither... I still haven't pulled my door panel off. My wife, son, and I have been passing around a nasty stomach bug, and haven't felt up to doing this at all. Hopefully Saturday I will pull my panel and do some testing with my multi-meter.
  3. I think for that price, I will be picking some up myself! Looks so much cleaner than the dark grey ones!
  4. I have to admit, I'd be curious to see the wiring on a Limited... It does appear that there is extra wiring in the pics that AirBorne1Cav posted (looks like 2 more, a grey and a green) but these could be for the wiring for so many other things (auto dim, heat for defrost). I'm going to be adventurous and most likely take my panel off on Saturday. If I do, I will get some more detailed pics, and possibly hook up my meter and do some testing to see what is what. **EDIT** I was able to blow up the picture, and it appears that there are two empty spots on the side where there are the additional wires JamesJaikissoon.
  5. Looks like a pretty informative site! It looks like the wires that it describes are in the pictures you took of your wiring harness in the door, so hopefully it will be an easy tap in. As for running the wires, I hope it's not too tight of a fit!
  6. Agreed, looks great! How was the wiring part of it?
  7. JamesJaikissoon, let me know how this goes... and take pics if you can! If it doesn't end up being too difficult of a project I'm thinking of doing this again. The kit is actually pretty well priced for all that is included, and the wires look long enough to at least go inside the door panel. Oh, and to update everyone else... I did talk to the service manager at Heuberger when I was getting my fuel door replaced (3 months after I had them check it out and order the part... they forgot to call me when it was in) and he said that he honestly had no idea if it could be done or not. I even offered them to take my door panel off so we could find out if anyone else asked, and he declined. Guess for that it's up to one of us to figure it out.
  8. Of course you couldn't post this when I was at DIA 2 weeks ago...
  9. I've been debating on getting these for a while... seeing them in use like this makes me think I need to get them sooner rather than later! Does the monkey come with them?
  10. Mine flickers just a little bit right after I start up the car when I put it in reverse, but I've heard that's a common problem for everyone (seen another thread about the lines not showing up at first... too lazy to look). I've never seen it do that if I have been driving for a while. This happened before I ever switched any lights around to LED. I think I'd have to call the BS card on this one.
  11. Mine in the background, and my Dad's as well! http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h174/firemn1692/20150916_111827_zpszxmfziyn.jpg
  12. I've been VERY lucky so far... I got a rock chip on the passenger side of my windshield (happened about a month after I picked up my car last July) and even through the winter it hasn't formed a crack YET. Thankfully I do have the glass insurance on my Legacy, but have been very fortunate not to have to get the replacement. When I was in for the service about a month ago, the service manager asked me to keep an eye on it, and was honestly surprised when I told him how long ago it had happened! He said as soon as it cracks to call him up and he will get the new one in as quickly as possible.
  13. Dogger_Dog, I have actually wondered the same since I also made a point of making sure the album art is in the ID3 tag, and there have been times it has been replaced with the Gracenote picture. I haven't found anything in the manual for disabling it at all, and I looked through pretty much the entire thing to see (but learned a couple new things while reading it!) Thankfully I'm not usually looking at album art while I'm driving, but when I do glance down and see a picture of the band instead of the album art, it can be pretty disturbing... especially depending on the band!
  14. Nope, I don't think anyone can see them. If you edit your post, you can probably get them in again.
  15. I totally agree! After switching from my 6000k LED's to the Philips 4300k Philips HID's myself, I am much more impressed with the light output as well. With the first big Colorado snowstorm we had a while ago, I noticed that when I drove home, not only was it just blinding light reflecting off of the snow with the LED's, but also there was no snow melting off, and I had to rely on my fog lights to make it safely home (without stopping every 2-3 minutes to clear the snow off the headlights). This made it a no brainer that I needed to switch to something else. Don't get me wrong, I really like the look of the 6000k LED's, and during the dry conditions they worked well, but after having the 4300k HID's in for about a month now, I won't switch back. Safety is the biggest reason I bought my Legacy to begin with, and if I'm going to have my wife and 3 year old son in the car, I want to make sure that it's the safest it can possibly be for my family. I have no problem bypassing the cool look of the previous lights for something that will light up the road and help me see everything that's out there.
  16. I'm one of those assholes that likes to flash my brights at times... and having this done doesn't allow me to flash the brights anymore unless my headlights are on...
  17. I have another thread that explains the process with the installation where I used load resistors to keep the hyper flash from happening. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/leds-turn-signals-244408.html?t=244408&highlight=LED+Turn There are a couple of places online that you can order these from, and you don't have to cut into any wires at all.
  18. I did the self install of the fog light kit, but kept the standard halogen stock bulbs in, and have not done the high beam LED's either. I like having the DRL's as they are and don't want to tamper with them since I believe it's a good safety feature. I have upgraded my turn signals to LED's though.
  19. I work right off of I-25 at exit 148, so would make for a slightly easier drive if you want to come down sometime! I did use the 3M mounting tape, and it has held up through the cold weather... so I'm not too worried about it holding up over time. I actually used about half the amount of the tape (since they give you pieces that are larger than the ballast itself) and they haven't budged at all. Of course, I'm waiting to see how it does in the summer and see if it will still hold up!
  20. Pretty much. You will have to find somewhere to mount the ballasts (I did mine on the metal under the headlight) and the rest is plug and play. Was one of the easiest installs that could be done... even though I hooked up the relays and everything at first. If you are ever in Colorado Springs, I can show you my set-up if you would like so you can see how easy it is.
  21. I actually did that today, and realized mine were spot on as well... Maybe I'm just not used to having the good long distance visibility
  22. I had originally installed mine with the full wiring as well, but after talking to Steve at XenonDepot, decided that there really was no need for the extra wiring and hookups to the battery, so I took the 5 minutes and took all the extra wiring back out. Everything works really well, and I have been totally impressed with the output of the lights! The only thing I have noticed is that my cutoff seems to be slightly higher than it was with the LED's or the halogens. May adjust my headlights just a little bit to make sure I'm not blinding anyone.
  23. I had always noticed with my LED's that the light spread was fantastic, but I was almost straining to see further down the road. I think these pictures explain it perfectly! I've got 30 minutes until I'm off of work, and will be testing mine in the dark for the first time. Great write up!
