Opie
3.6R H&R's installed this afternoon. Very straight forward install, just like any other late model Subaru. Took about 3.5 hours in the garage with a little help from my wife. http://www.challengepromotions.com/Wills/Legacy/HR5.JPG http://www.challengepromotions.com/Wills/Legacy/HR2.JPG http://www.challengepromotions.com/Wills/Legacy/HR4.JPG
CT2015Legacy
Not bad at all very impressed; guess that means the springs from the 5th gen work then which is awesome as I have a set of RCE blacks laying around. How's the eyesight system operating with the slight drop? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I love H&R products so looks like i'll need to get some for my 2016 2.5i. Hopefully the 5th gen ones work. And those WRX wheels look really good as well! Bigkanz
To each their own, if you like it then I'm happy for you. I'm disappointed. I've been wanting to drop mine, but this drop looks way too low over the wheels, aesthetically(for me), while not looking much lower to the ground - so Provas aren't for me. How much of a drop is that? Do the tires rub up front on bumps or when turning all the way? Only about an inch all around and they don't rub one bit. haven't have any issues turning or going over bumps and them rubbing. very very happy with the ride quality as well. that's why i went with the Prova's and cuz Grnlantern1 hooked me up lol. but I didn't want to give up too much ride quality. they are wonderful. andrew_l_s
...Keep in mind also, that the Legacy front spring perch may be lower on the strut body and have clearance issues with Outback size tires. I can confirm that Outback size tires (225/60R18) will not fit with Legacy suspension, you can get them on and bolt the wheel on fine, but there is ZERO clearance with the spring perch...well maybe a piece of paper could slide between the tire and perch but that's about it. Definitely too close for comfort. NorCal1657615595
So the only option for outback owners would be to see if we can get the Koni inserts to fit in the outback strut bodies? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
GTEASER
So the only option for outback owners would be to see if we can get the Koni inserts to fit in the outback strut bodies? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk The Konis will physically fit inside the Outback strut tube, but are too short for the Outback spring perch which is welded to the strut tube 2" higher than the Legacy perch. You'll never get a spring compressed that far to get the tophat on. And even if you did, the car would be very low and ride like shit on a spring that is permanently compressed to 1/2 it's proper length. NorCal1657615595
sigh... so no options at all for the outbacks then...
GTEASER
sigh... so no options at all for the outbacks then... Not unless you want to lower it to Legacy height and run a Legacy size tire. You could use tophat spacers or lift blocks to get it back up a bit, but you still run into the front spring perch issue. And we still don't know for sure that Koni inserts work in the 2015+ Legacy front struts, no one has done it yet. Nor*Cal....did you and your wife get a 2015+ Outback? NorCal1657615595
Legacy ride height is ideal, but running the legacy sized tires would throw the speedo off too much.

BeastCoast
This is all confusing to me. Every picture ive seen so far in this thread of a "lowered" legacy looks identical to my stock height. Not sure if there are any performance gains from this but to me it looks like money spent on an aesthetic mod with no visible difference. No disrespect intended, Im just trying to grasp the reasoning behind it all @BeastCoast1
aotus
You're looking at pictures of ride height reductions around 1-2", which is easy for some of us to see, those who have spent far too long obsessing over such things. The benefit? While small - Stiffer springs improves control while cornering, lower height reduces total frontal area of the turbulence-prone gap under the car, which has the consequence of reducing drag and thus increasing efficiency at highway speeds. And, some think it looks better.
