Make that metal like steel, not brass, Al, copper, etc... 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. I was ready to put a match to it after getting the engine in the second time and it still didn't run right. But when you finish it will be worth the wait!
