Well damn. Just read through this whole thread! MrTris seems like THE MAN. Oh and you too Sigmafour... My dad bought my wagon new back when it came out. I inherited it as my first car two years ago with ~150k miles on it. My dad wanted me to learn on it since it is stick. Two years later I finally appreciate my car for what it is. I'm slowly getting into the Subaru scene and realize how much work these cars are... But damn are they fun and sweet to drive.

I have a question for you guys, are you able to hear that turbo spool up when you boost? The turbo on mine has never been replaced (yes I know... 160k on it...) And I don't know what it should feel like since I got it when it was deep into 150k miles. There is no boost gauge, and I'm thinking of putting one in maybe.. I love hearing the flat 4 on other subies so I am looking at getting a Nameless axleback for mine. Probably the 5 inch but maybe the 4 inch. My dad used to race Spec cars back in the day so he knows his car stuff. He takes great care of his cars and the wagon is no exception.. I wish I knew was much as he does! I'm here to learn guys... I'm just kinda jumping into the Subaru ocean hoping I will learn to stay afloat.

After seeing some wagons on her (talking to you magnusonsubie), I can't wait to put work into mine... When I have time and money [emoji17] oh the woes of a college student.

Are you coming to BNW this weekend? If not I might be able to swing by in the afternoon on my way home. I'm cruising down with b_Holm, Kailen32, his brother, and a few others. Then meeting s2baru in Portland and cruising the last little bit with him. Should be a fun day. Let me know if you are coming out.

College student here. Starting my Junior year at the end of August. Time is there. Money isn't there all the time but there are some fun DIY mods you can do. I did my grille in my dorm room and then I just keep an eye on the for sale section here for good deals and budget myself. I live and work on campus so I don't have to buy food and I don't have a commute so I am able to budget a bit more for car stuff. Good luck with your schooling!

Material Tests on Ringland Failure Piston

I should have held off and purchased a wagon instead of the spec.B

Thanks man... I actually just graduated highschool so I'm not QUITE a true college kid... yet. What are you studying? I'm going into Chemical Engineering so I'll see how much time I'll have for cars. Maybe over the summer! Wish all of you cool kids were over here in Pennsylvania!!

Alex just got a connector in the mail for you that was cracked on your headlight. i can send it to you if needed. also. i never had the chance to test if my patch job on the crack is water tight, you should find out and make sure if everything works. if not i will fix it:)

BNW is a maybe. My long-distance GF is in town through Saturday but she'll be spending a few hours with friends and family Saturday afternoon. I'll see if she can get a ride, since I was just going to give her my car.

Lol thanks man, I didn't know that. It would probably just be easier to get it this weekend. Let me know how much the connector was and I'll give you the cash then.

If I can't make it to BNW you guys should definitely swing by my place! I'm right off of i5 so with no traffic I'm about 10 minutes from PIR.

Tbh I probably won't have time. I'm guessing neither of our cars are going anywhere for a while so I'm not too worried about it. I want to get the turboback on there anyway and see what it sounds like on stock mufflers.

You say that now. Then I'll probably swing by this afternoon and you'll hear the borla and completely change your mind and attempt to steal the borla off my car. [emoji38] :spin:

Probably. Lol. What this is really about is funding. I've spent a LOT on a car that doesn't run so I'm trying to make budget cuts haha.

But, I probably won't be able to refrain and Ben's Nameless is a rare gem with its black paint and all.

Message me your phone number, let's see if we can hook up today!

Update!

I finally finished stripping my wheels today. I don't think I'll even have to sandblast them. I'm going to try hand sanding the thick spots and dipping one wheel tomorrow so I can see how it turns out.

Here's a before and after. Total is about 20 hours of labor over the course of ~4 weeks...yeah. I discovered that the rims had 3 coats of paint on them (one had 4 coats). It's been a fun project to say the least.

(also today marks 7 months of ownership)

Finally got a hold of HMS. ETA for rebuild is 2-3 weeks from now. The anxiety is killing me.

Finished dipping my rims. Got new black lugs, dipped my grill and installed the front end with the blacked out headlights (credit to b_holm for the awesome work). Definitely need to clear my lenses.

Also installed my Cobb TBE. Going to mate it with some Nameless 5" muffled Axlebacks for shits and giggles since it didn't come with mufflers. It'll be unique, that's for sure.

Small photo dump, new mud flaps. Dug her out of her driveway grave for a quick photoshoot.

This car needs to stop sitting...I keep spending money on a car that I don't drive.
