Fuel Delivery Issues; Stranded in NM
Febreze Mee replied to Febreze Mee's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
This would most closely describe my issues, and so I recon it'd be my issue. I'll be looking into testing the sensor and learning more about how they might fail (mine does have 195K miles on it, so that could be reason enough). I'll also probably start keeping my spare sensors on me, until I decide to lean forward on replacing the current one. -
Fuel Delivery Issues; Stranded in NM

If the crank angle sensor failed, albeit temporarily since it started right up in the next few days, would this cause fuel delivery issues? Asked another way, would the lack of crank angle sensor tell the ECU to not send fuel, or the amount of fuel needed, to start the engine and drive it? -

Stowing this knowledge away for the next time. Thanks Mike! -
Fuel Delivery Issues; Stranded in NM

This makes two of us. I changed the fuel filter on the side of the interstate, and attempted to start the car later in the evening after it had a chance to fully cool. -

Welp! I received the car back via a car transporter two weekends ago. After three weeks in the dealers possession, I was sick of it just sitting there not being tended to, so I shipped it back up to WA. One week in, the techs went out to the car and it fired right up. They didn't bother to look into it any further, even after I explained to them a second time the exact issues I knew I was having, and the suspected issues. I requested a simple fuel pressure reading at the rails, and a few gallons of gas for them to test drive the vehicle. None of the above was provided, and the car subsequently sat for two more weeks before it was loaded onto a trailer. Very frustrating experience! The positives are: the dealership paid the bill, they honored my request to not wash the car, and they provided relatively safe harbor for the car for three weeks. The negatives are: the issue is IT'S STILL A MYSTERY! I'm out $2500 for this elusive issue. I've put a 1500+ miles on it in the last two weeks with nothing showing cause for concern, and now I'm scared drive it out of state. Can anyone add anything to what's already been discussed in this thread? Possible causes? Blind-spots in analysis? It was not mentioned earlier, and it's not insignificant, but it was an average of 101*F from early afternoon to late afternoon the day I was stranded. I was driving between 70-80mph for over 8hrs in total before the car quit on me. It was also given a 15min rest every 4hrs, at a fuel stop. Coolant temp was between 194-212*F (90-100*C), and oil temp between 230-245*F (110-118*C). -

Are the H&R 15mm spacers still available? -
Nah, I've been procrastinating. I have yet to make an formal invitation. As a running joke, what says I can't recycle the previous two years' poster?

Referring OP to this thread: It's a 6MT Spec B swap, but there may be some details in there for you to https://www.subaruoutback.org/threads/peters-h6-manual-swap-outback.531081/ As Mike said, time/money is what it takes. There are a few resources mentioned in the thread above on how to get around the wiring.

Febreze Mee's Wagon Build Thread (Heiress)
Febreze Mee replied to Febreze Mee's topic in Outback Photos
I have actually! I was waiting to get all the parts in before snapping pics and disclosing, but since you've asked —I have a CSF 8066 in my closet, and ChaseBays thermostatic oil sandwich plate coming in this afternoon. I'll be taking some measurements a little later this week to decide on oil line length, and then I'll submit an order to anhosefitting.com for two well-fitted lines. I'll post the exact details when I get everything in and on. -
darkstarxi's '07 spec.B Project
Febreze Mee replied to darkstarxi's topic in Legacy Photos (2005-2009)
I'll be curious to hear back, after some more miles are put on it, that the exhaust clearance remained at 3/8" clearance from the RSB. The same issue of the exhaust rattling on the sway bar has come to haunt me in the last 18 months. I've replaced all hanger bushing with new OEM and tried adjusting. I've now resorted to purchasing a product @Gex recommended to a few others. "EVIL ENERGY Exhaust Hanger Rubber Adjustable Insulator Bushing Mount 4 Holes Universal 2Pcs" -

Def going to recommend UOAs. Blackstone has a great kit to monitor the internal health. -

What did you do to your Outback today? V3
Febreze Mee replied to SBT's topic in Third Generation Subaru Outback (2004 – 2009)
I would stick with the original plan and just resurface, and adjust the valve lash. This is only a winter beater, and should perform for many more kilometers with just that. -
Anyone on here? Spotted last Tuesday at 5:41pm headed eastbound on SR-512. Looked to be an non-turbo.

Trip from AZ to WY
Febreze Mee replied to blackobxt's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I experienced the same exact "volume-of-bugs" consensus on my way down to Texas. It was a pain to clean them. Driving from Texas to Tennessee, I got wise and taped up my front end, only to find I didn't need to because for whatever reason there weren't as many bugs to take out on the way over. -

Fuel Delivery Issues; Stranded in NM
Febreze Mee replied to Febreze Mee's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I pass through NM on my way from Tacoma, Washington to Texas for vacation once or twice a year. I LITERALLY tell everyone this exact same thing when I drive to and fro Texas. I absolutely hate driving through NM. I'll opt for Colorado next time pending their weather systems. I hadn't talked to the dealer today. I'll update here when I do talk to them, come Tuesday. -

Thanks brother! Finally, got ahold of the dealer yesterday, and was informed my cars ticket was up next. They'll be seeing it today, or Tuesday at the latest.
