  1. Welp! Now that I know you're local, next time I'm home, you'll have to come out and drive some of the wonderful roads around the state. I literally just left to start my drive back up to the PNW on Thursday. Next time!
  2. This came up in my train of thought, but since I didn't receive any codes for them, I wasn't paying them any attention. Either way, the car is now out of my hands, and in that of Garcia Subaru in Albuquerque, NM. Y'all are more than welcome to drop stickers or signatures in paint pen all over it if you find it lol.
  3. I wish I was a little more prepared. I've been wanting to put an under-the-hood gauge to read fuel pressure for so long, and just haven't. I also stopped carrying a multimeter with me when I moved recently. Shame on me. @Scubaboo no codes came up on my code reader, which remains plugged into the car during normal operation. The thought of attempting to start it with the MAF unplugged, had never ever crossed my mind. What does this do?
  4. Hello, posting this where it will get the most attention the quickest. The car is a 2006 Outback 2.5i. I'm pretty convinced I'm having fuel delivery issues. Symptoms: Cylinder 4 misfire pending code. The car shutdown on itself some 10mi later. Restarted after a few tries to crank it over, at speed. So I kept driving in attempts to limp it to Gallup, NM. Another 10mi later, the same thing happened. Restarted, and kept going before the car eventually died a third and final time, never again to start under cranking except for maybe a split second —as if drinking the last few drips of fuel from the lines. What I've done: - checked/replaced plugs with NGK equivalent - replaced ignition coil (mind you, I had one on hand so I replaced it to say I did, even though the car's ignition system seems fine) - verified theres fuel in the tank by visual inspection - replaced the fuel pump/level sending unit assembly (and heard it prime) - reconnected/attached all lines and connectors as they were - watched fuel come out post-FPR under the hood (I don't have a gauge to monitor pressure of the fuel) - verified the rails and injectors were being fed by fuel - checked the fuel pump fuse relay under the hood, it was intact. (Wasn't sure of any other fuses/relays to check) *And after all this I still cranked it and it didn't start. It wanted to start, and sputtered and tried.* Lastly, I sprayed carb cleaner down the intake and it fired right up. Spark and air exist, it's gotta be fuel related. Anything helps at this point. It's going to be a long 24hrs, and I'm planning to leave my car in New Mexico at this point. FML. What wisdom can any of you offer? TYIA
  5. Not everyone was okay, but we made it to and fro without major issues. Unfortunately, some kid in a GTI had a seizure on the way down HWY 28 and crashed into the lake at low speed. The two guys leading the GT86/GR86 pack jumped into the lake after him. They said they saw him still seizing in his seat when the car went under. They also couldn't find the car, as it went under by the time they got out to it. It was 14ft under. We saw the two ambulances coming up HWY 129 and turning down the road to the scene. Poor bugger was still strapped in his seat belt when they recovered the car 2hrs later A tragedy it was, and I'm sure his family was expecting to hear how awesome his day was that evening.
  6. Any updates to availability today? @Infosecdad @seanyb505 Drive? Lunch?
  7. On our way! Stopping for the best bagels I know. Dad won't be coming in the GTR.
  8. I'm sure there will be a few "New Member" introductions sooner than later with the "Just picked up my first turbo subaru...need help" intro. That's not oddly-specific to anything that's ever happened on these forums, of course.
  9. Just keep me posted. I'll reach out again once I get home on the 9th or 10th.
  10. I just put a couple hundred miles on this 6MT GT4. I drove up to Chuckanut Drive, and all over the back roads between Burlington and Redmond. I also saw Snoqaulmie Falls for the first time —finally. Experiencing this from the driver's seat did not help my efforts in saying "no" to futures ownership of Porsche. I was extremely disappointed in my car, when I hopped back in it to drive home, and then I re-familiarized myself with it and loved all over again.
  11. It was a blast! We'll get some more in once I get back from vacation driving the Dragon with @Infosecdad . Meanwhile, you and I have Dash Point Park to drive an evening this week. No passengers, as lovely as they can be, unlocks a different kind of enjoyment.
  12. Looking at the car from some angles, I like the flaps. But from other angles, I consider ripping them off. The theme was supposed to be my spin on a tarmac rally aesthetic. I'm tempted more and more to put the factor mudguards back on. Absolutely will do!
  13. This weekend's adventures with a couple good friends: Made a trip around Crescent Lake. Went to Quillbilly's Taproom for wonderful pizza and blackberry cider. Last weekend's photo, just so it's posted here:
  14. Thanks brother! @boxkita was shitting on me this weekend when we took the cars for a lap around Crescent Lake We had fun, I just really need some seat time in a closed course environment, and some coaching for the basics. I can get by, but I need some work.
  15. It's absolutely beautiful here! However, you have Georgia just above you. And northern GA is very beautiful —significantly closer too! I have LOVED how low-maintenance and low-cost my EJ253 motors have been. And I am NOT nice to them. I take care of them, but I USE them. I usually try to lead with the "NA w/ a scoop" part. Thanks so much for the compliments! It means a lot.
  16. Happy Friday! Here's tomorrow's departure spot, and Guest List. It will be nice and intimate. Bring your own coffee. And bring a walkie, if you have one. 8:30 arrival time, 9:00 departure time.
