  1. Just got back into town last night, and took delivery of a bunch of parts. Hoping to be finished with the car and prepped for driving season by beginning of June. When do you get back from AZ?
  2. '04 STis use the same 5x100 bolt pattern. It's why swapping front rotors and calipers (with an acceptable bracket) is so easy. The only difference, that I can imagine, between the STi vs LGT front dust shields would be obviously the larger diameter STi shields, and a larger opening for Brembo calipers. Don't quote me though.
  3. I appreciate that mentality, and operate very similarly. Why the 2008-2014 STi trans over an earlier one?
  4. Those parts came out great! Looks fresh, and will be well worth it over the life of the engine. Which transmission will you be putting in?
  5. Please do share, once finished. I'm personally not a fan of quad tips on our cars, but I'm always curious how the aesthetic turn out, from the owners who put the STi mufflers on. I'm open to changing my mind too
  6. @Turbomister2 your car looks beautiful! It's a great color too, though I am biased. If you haven't already take the wheel off and check the upper control arm for play. Take a picture of the suspension connections from the wheel well with that wheel off too, and post it. @jonnyt88 which STi exhaust did you install? Pics?
  7. Phenomenal find for only $800! What a good friend. Welcome to the forum! 500HP is a lot!
  8. Ecstatic to see new life brought back to this car! And even more so for the regular updates on it. Thanks for starting this thread, and welcome to the forum, formally!
  9. This was that very drive. It's when we went with Corey up to Crescent Lake bc Hurricane Ridge was closed. @ElijahHooper we have completely thread jacked this, and I am sorry for that.
  10. Someone who gets it! Btw we play like that every single weekend, and more in the summers. Specifically, on that very road. I know I've sent the invite to you too. Shoot, I was driving that road every night in November of 2023. And even had @Captain Redbeard, @boxkita, and a bunch of the cars throughout my build thread there for a few runs before taking off on vacation in December. Come out next time!
  11. Highlighted times were the best of our four morning runs. I came 6 out of 21. I will never claim my EJ253 is fast, but since @KZJonny brought it up lol, this was my standing at one of the AutoX events last summer. Not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison. And although the ppl I drive with don't time our uphill/downhill runs in the mountains, I'm still successfully punching above my weight. OP please yield to everything said in this thread. 90's JDM twin turbos are expensive to keep up with, and high maintenance. Add the headache and expense of swapping, and not a lot of ppl want to invest the effort that you're discussing. However, if you pull it off, I'm here to see it!
  12. If winners get a prize, I'll put my ticket towards "unfinished fuel pump wiring." Not that I've heard of a lot of these getting stolen.
  13. I think I might dig out my spare OEM hatch struts this summer too. I have way to much to do to the car. Good finds @alex0856.
  14. You could achieve your minimum post count much quicker if you introduced yourself in the "New Member" section, and contributed a little to the forum.
  15. But your exterior looks so good without it Def a fan of the OEM optional spoiler with 3rd brake light.
  16. Let us know what caused the knock, if you come to find out.
  17. Welcome to the forums Livanda! Please take some time to visit the New Members section and give a small intro. As for alternative temp sensor locations, I have an auxiliary coolant temp gauge mounted, and I plumbed into the back of the coolant cross over pipe. I, too, wanted to maintain my factory coolant temp sensor. On the pipe, catty-corner on the other side of the factory sensor, you will find additional metal real estate from the casting. This proved to be a great spot to drill and tap for 1/8 PT sending unit. If you decided to go another route, any one of the ports you plug a block heater into would suffice, so long as you had the right conversion plug to fill it, so the new plug could take a temp sensor. Here is an example of what my set up looks like for my water temp gauge: Coolant temp gauge circled in yellow above. The red circle is where I tapped. And the red arrow shows the route I took with the wires.
  18. Ooh, an easy answer. Yes! Sell it, and get "a used WRX Impreza with a 5 or 6-speed manual transmission in mint or pristine condition."
  19. I knew you were close, but I didn't know you were that close. Puyallup here too. And now that you mention it, I KNOW I've seen you on 512, bc I've only ever seen one Spec B in the area. Is your either Spec B DGM or BSM?
  20. Classic! The above should help. I had replaced my passenger side last fall, and had referenced this, and parts.subaru.com, for PN#s.
  21. Fun fact: 2006 Outback 2.5i's also come with the same PN# of the desired STi pan. If you wanted one dirt cheap, I'm sure you could find one in a Pick n Pull. I, too, grabbed my KB pick up and baffle under a packaged deal.
