  1. Thanks Febreeze me and Apexi. I’ve looked into the raptor liner for the S10, seems like good stuff. Good point about trapping moisture, didn’t think of that. I wash the car pretty religiously during the winter just to keep the crap off, I may just do the fluid film. Co-worker used it on his s10 with good results. From the way it sounds like you apply it, it probably would last too long but it’d be better than nothing.
  2. Haha no worries, I get it. I’ve got this one and two other projects going on several years…also nice to see progress though. Keeps you keeping on…
  3. Has anyone undercoated the bottom of their car? Like a Ziebart lining or truck bed lining? Just curious. Getting ready to do brakes soon and was thinking if my rear lines weren't too bad, getting some truck bed liner to help protect them. Thankfully my car has seen very few salty road winters and was garaged most of its life so it's still in good shape, but would like to do some preservative maintenance on it while i'm underneath it.
  4. Cool. Always enjoy seeing lifted subies, pls post some pics when it’s lifted! I think ADF has the badass picture of a jacked up forrester with huge tires on it. Pretty rugged looking, wouldn’t mind having something like that to go exploring in…
  5. Got some stuff laying around the garage I’m looking to get rid of. Bought a lot of this when the LGT was a shiny new toy but now re-directing attention to other projects that need way more work, time, and money than my daily. All prices include shipping +PP fees. 08+ steering wheel, recovered with redline goods leather wrap w/ blue stitching. Feels amazing compared to an old worn out stock 05 wheel. Sold 08+ Steering audio wheel controls, both sides plus SI drive button and cruise. Cruise buttons a little worn but in good shape overall. Asking $60 shipped. 08+ WRX catless up pipe. Came off of AZ car with 75/80k on it? Don’t remember exactly but less than 100k. Still in wrapping from when I got it plus it has all studs. Asking $60 shipped. Mishimoto aux coolant tank. Bought from another member on here, didn’t install. SOLD Wagon tail light garnish, RBP. No longer needed. $60 shipped. Power steering over with hole. Yours for shipping costs (will get pic). Momo combat Evo shift knob-nice piece feels great, just doesn’t match interior. A little wear but hard to tell, has all mounting screws. Was saving for double din install. When???? IDK. Letting go. Sold Dimmer/mirror and switch with folding mirror button and headlight level switch. Wires have been cut, but Legacy Odds n ends makes wire harness for headlight leveling. Not sure what all is needed? SOLD. Ok
  6. Always liked these cars. They look good lowered or lifted. Hope that helps. One thing to keep in mind, the more you lift, the quicker the CV joints will fail cause of the sharper drive angle. I think doing an inch or two would be ok, but once you get past a certain point you may have your work cut out for you replacing stuff. Could be wrong, but something to keep in mind. I’m sure the outback.org guys would know better.
  7. Finally fixed the front grill I bought way back when and re-installed the emblem. PO used silicone to attach to the grill so it kinda flopped. I used JB weld, so it’s way more solid. Issue was, it took off a good chunk of backing so the emblem was trashed. Found this…not sure how I feel about it though. I liked it when it was installed but now it’s been on a few days. Car feels incomplete with it. Going for a oem jdm spec b wagon look. Like the honeycomb grills but this seems a little too racer boi for me. Feels like it needs a different bumper and sit a tad lower to pull off the look.
  8. Thing that sucks is banks will only go by KBB/NADA value, not current market or recent BaT auctions….unfortunately that’s just how it goes. You might try hagerty if it’s not going to be a daily, but that’s just the risk. I daily mine, but I’m also always conscience of an accident, cause I know the party’ll be over…
  9. Man I’m kinda jelly of all you driving your cars around country highways with scenic views. But I’m not complaining about seeing some awesome cars with awesome backdrops! Keep ‘em coming!
  10. Check out Anderson fabrication’s outback section. 05-09 outback prts are your best bet.. PS-check out this thread. Doing the opposite of what you’re doing but might be good for reference:
  11. Haha well said All_talk, isn’t that what this hobby is all about? And these cars are fun, esp for those of us who can’t afford something like a vette, or mustang, or need something more practical. Unfortunately Norulzleggy also got the nail on the head-these cars are getting up there in age and they’re not cheap. They’ll become a money pit really quick….that Evo does look like it belongs on the car more than the burn up wing, plus you’ll save shipping from Japan. That wing will run you at least $400-$500 to bring over. A complete body kit will probably cost min $1-2k to bring over as well, so keep that in mind.
  12. I like the style, but dunno if I like the way it fits/mounts. I’ve seen other wings for LGTs that seem to mount more flush with the trunk and look more natural (don’t know if they’re STi wings?). you’ll more than likely have to drill holes. These cars don’t come with factory mounting holes for the trunk, since they didn’t come with a wing. A co-worker has a WRX with a STi wing and he had to drill holes in his trunk lid. It’s possible but I’d take my time and use tape to mark. Personally I wouldn’t mind having a sedan with a wing like that cause I can’t afford a STi, and like the look of STis/Evos, though the functionality would hardly be used in all reality. You’ll find a lot of people here like these cars better cause they’re way less attention-grabbing than a WRX or STi, too, while being more affordable. No less expensive, though, as you’ll learn. I think of Maxcapacitys adage of these cars aren’t for the faint of heart or wallet every time I get in mine. But I’d still do it again. I’m kinda dumb that way, but YOLO. There’s more focus on having a fun, quick, non-descript daily. I drive a turbo wagon and i love it cause it’s a blast to drive but looking at it you wouldn’t think it’s a turbo unless you knew what it was. Sorry, /threadjack.
  13. If you post them in the tuning forum people can take a look and see if they see something that’s off.
  14. Edit: has your tuner noticed anything odd about your tuning logs?
  15. @andrewschwartzaMay be interested in the stereo of shoots wants the surround. I’m trying to work on my other project now and stop buying stuff for this car, but it’s hard when you see something you’d like to have, or know you want to install in the future …lol. Let me know what you’d want for it. Thanks!
  16. Mine started doing the same thing yesterday. Really been doing it the last few months but yesterday became waaaay louder than it’s been so now I know they’re on their way out and I’m on borrowed time . ps-just saw previous posts related to this. Thank you everyone for providing info it’s greatly appreciated!!!!!!! I checked my local dealer and seems like all 4 are still available? I don’t know much about this at this point, but I need to do some more digging. There’s a lot of parts in the HVAC inner control assy that have been discontinued, but I’m not sure at this point which are needed for the fix.
  17. Avojapan sells new ones but I’m pretty sure they’re RHD…finding a LHD one is going to be a chore since they all are in EU. Most what I’ve seen available for this gen comes out of Russia, so…good luck. Also check Japan auctions, there’s plenty there, depending on what you’re looking for.
  18. Amen to that. Hard to find a good, reliable shop these days, that’ll do quality work. Esp for these cars, or nice older cars in general. Not like it used to be. I’ve got two 85s, wouldn’t dream of taking them to any local shops for much other than installing tires, even that’s a stretch.
  19. Hopefully that’ll do it. I’ve got one I was gonna offer if you needed it. Could probably use a good cleaning since it’s even sitting around in the garage but glad you’ve got a spare. This basically killed my original motor…got 22k now on a replacement. Congrats on the win Gex-well earned! Your wagon is awesome. Way to represent legacy wagons, would love to go to MidwestFest sometime.
  20. Great progress! Dumb question. What do you check bearing clearances with? Coming from old school muscle/chevys I used to use small green bearing clearance strips from Jegs. Torque down the main caps, remove, then check. Been a while (years) since I’ve built a motor…think you made the right call leaving the motor unpainted. That natural aluminum is a clean look.
  21. You doing that yourself or a shop? Gaps look good just where they need to be…
  22. Man that rear is so much cleaner and refined than the USDM one…sharp looking wagon, it’s hard to say which one I like better, the Pearl white or this one…both are gorgeous…glad you were able to get another one! That alpina was a pretty car but it’s still a bimmer (Sorry DrDaveLGT…No offense! lol) more pics when you can please & thanks!
