  1. Not sure what you are hearing but if you are out of timing the valves wouldn't just rattle around, they would be bent by hitting the piston. You may be hearing a heatsheild or something loose rattling around. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  2. All of those look like they could be separate issues. P0244 is over boost, without having the BCS connected you have little to no boost controll meaning any kind of hard driving could result in needing a new shortblock. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  3. Your car is actually pulling fuel across the first 3 columns(given by the red) meaning your sensors are not picking up as much air as expected. Good sign is the car is not knocking enough anywhere to pull timing. I would also recommend looking for a leak. Cleaning the MAF and a new air filter will probably help with this also. 4. Doing some rough estimations, assuming you got $450 option from hill country. You may be looking over $1000 for all the current fixes. When the engine gives out, however, the two components you will not be able to reuse is the oil cooler, gaskets, oil, and most likely turbo. Those combined may put you out at least $700-800 which is quite a bit of money to get a car 10k more miles. A proper rebuild can give you 20 times that if done correctly. Again, I know you have weighed this all out, but the amount of metal in the pan does not look good from the photos. I would recommend taking some time and saving up for the worst. 5. I think you may be looking at +$200 in oil an additives Depending on brands Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  6. Yeah sounds like you clogged a cat. I messed around with that for a month or two. When I dropped the downpipe there was some sand like fragments from the cat that fell out. I would not reccomend. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  7. Check wastegate actuator and drop the downpipe. Unlikely on a newer turbo, but the wastegate can shift over and get caught on the side of the exhaust housing. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  8. Also use the learning view tool on romraider. Its alot easier to log and see the learning view on the same application Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  9. You need to install the associated drivers for the cable or whatever you are using Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  10. +1 for the OEM catless uppipes. They come with a flex joint so you will have more play to get the connection sealed. If you were inclined, I would recommend cleaning your oil pan also. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  11. While skipping timing in these cars isn't super rare, it is most likely caused by wear of the timing components. Replacing them would not be a bad idea. Just did mine about a week ago. Use a vice grip to hold the driver side sprockets and with an extra set of hands to hold the belt in place the install isn't that bad.
  12. Just installed this one on my 05. Seems to have decent enough quality. The top connection was slightly too small and the bpv connection was a bit further than the stock location. This may be because it's meant for the 07-09. Being quite a bit wider than stock, the manifold had to be worked back into place. I would recommend getting a good amount of clamps that wont bite into the silicone, the barbs did not seal very well by themselves. The install wasn't too bad with the manifold off but I imagine it would be quite difficult with it on. ( duplicate post so I'll just leave this here too) Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

  14. Just a thought, it could be the vaccum line going from the manifold to the FPR. If that comes off you will run super lean and at idle your AFR will be off. Not sure if that would cause the car to die, but its possible if the fuel doesnt have enough pressure to enter the cylinders. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  15. +1 for the transmission filter Should not need to be replaced but I believe a wix oil filter crosses over to that one. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  16. Hardest part of turbo install is getting the inlet and oil return seated correctly without ripping your inlet. It's not too crazy of an install but those two can be a real pita. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  17. Oil in the inlet is most likely blowby. I would check the PCV valve while you're in there to make sure it's not stuck. When replacing the uppipe, make sure the connection to the header is the first you get tight. Check on both sides of the connection to ensure the gasket is seated properly. After a couple months, I just recently got my stock catless uppipe to seal. Be sure the banjo filters are removed also. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  18. Finished swapping out some parts and have these left over. VF40 -Sold off-site Has about 100k on it and little to no shaft play. Good to be dropped in as is or rebuilt. It is missing one of the oil return bolts, an exhaust stud, and one of the turbo to intercooler threads has been stripped out. 4 OEM 550cc Injectors- $35 each set OBO Unsure the condition or milage on any of them. Most likely need to be flow tested. All seals seem to be intact. OEM Fuel Rail with dampers- not sure what to list this for. Make an offer if interested. Has about 150k on it. Needs a good clean but worked fine when on the car. Missing some clamps. All include 3% PayPal fee if paying through Goods and Services Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  19. It depends on the orientation of the clamp. Even with the intake manifold off if that bracket is connected the only way to it is from where the downpipe was close to the transmission. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  20. I dont know exactly how much glitter you saw, but when I first got my car it had some metal in the oil and after a couple oil changes and turbo swap it has slowly disappeared. Did a oil analysis with Blackstone a couple months ago and it came back with very good results. Just wanted to shed some light on the whole metal in the oil thing. In your case, the shortblock is probably not going to survive. However, I feel there are some exceptions. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  21. Looks like you're in about the same spot as me right now. I found these 2 diagrams to be very helpful. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  22. I've been dealing with the infamous uppipe to header leak for a couple months now. After swapping uppipes twice and using grimspeed's 2x thickness the leak saw still there. So finally I dropped the headers to try and get everything to seat properly. Unfortunately, I found that my header flanges were warped which left a gap too large for a gasket to fill. I assume over 15 years and thousands of heating a cooling cycles caused the stock uppipe and header warped at the same rate. But, once swapped with a smoother flange they no longer lined up. So, I spent the morning sanding the flanges flat with a hand sander and a section of glass. You can see in one of the photos the wear shows that the flange is curved quite a bit. In the end I got them to seat and wanted to share in case anyone is having a similar issue. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
