  1. marty and moog at mightycarmods did a big 3.6 turbo build and i think the bottleneck was the rods and stuff for them, so unless that's been solved i dunno how much NA power you're going to be able to wring out of one of them..but in their last episode they teased a new stage in that build, so who the hell knows what's in development for these engines.
  2. yeah you're doing god's work keeping the 3.6 going, got the popcorn ready for when you start the build over
  3. ls swap lets gooooooo, but holy crap you got your eyes on the prize if that's the bill you're running
  4. you can not get any luck my guy...fingers crossed for a quick re-build over the winter to get back on track for the spring. any other ideas in the works aside from the baffled oil pan?
  5. did you try another phone to see if you have the same problem? i don't have any advice, av isn't my thing
  6. haven't really heard of any ABS issues...could be a caliper on its way out, could be brake lines going bad...will have to get in there and diagnose. look for an indy subaru shop if you wanna save some money
  7. my first one is on the way out on my 2010...replacing all 4 when i get some new tires
  8. @dgoodhue has been working on rescuing one...dunno what his plans are once it's rebuilt(which, it's getting there), but may be a good person to check in with
  9. isolated case, but my acura was having issues like that. the brake fluid hadn't been flushed in a very long time. after flushing it, all of the crap in the fluid killed off the ABS pump and i was getting issues like that...brakes would work if pumped, or if you were going particularly slow, but were disturbingly inconsistent. replaced the master cylinder and ABS pump with junk yard units and brakes were back to normal. if pulsing doesn't work i'd be on the hunt for a new pump, and might as well do a master cylinder while everything's torn apart. but i'm not a mechanic so grains of salt ya know
  10. been running mevotechs for a year and a half now, and all is good. if you're worried about the ball joints you can always replace them with OE ones before install since they're relatively cheap anyways, but the uprated bushings, in my mind, make the mevos worth it over going OE
  11. was perusing ebay and found a full, new in packaging, OEM interior illumination kit including the door sills and roof wiring splitter thingy and all that other fun stuff, add in the close to minty steering wheel i got and it should dress up the interior nicely.
  12. glad ya finally got her up and running...been quite the saga
  13. from what i remember reading, 17s are gonna be the smallest you can go on a GT given the front brakes. too lazy to go back and find em, but the 16s ain't gonna fit
  14. im just glad the like/thanks button is back...and i'd assume all of the old posts too
  15. jeez you can't catch a break on this one...hopefully the sensor fix works and you can at least get the car on the road while waiting for parts...
  16. if there was a check engine light i'd have found it no prob bob, but there wasn't one...with ze german car in the fleet too, i guess i should invest in some better diag equipment... and yeah, i might have to start scouring the junk yard too and make a couple bucks where i can...
  17. feelin dumb...car started bucking under hard acceleration...could hear turbo building boost, but as soon as i passed 3k rpm started bucking. no CEL or anything. looked for vacuum leaks, boost leaks, made sure every sensor was firmly seated...no fix. dropped the car off at the shop and it's a bad coil and one on its way out. oh, what felt like a misfire was a misfire? no... $500 later for 2 coils and i'm calling it an idiot tax. i've got the other 2 on order and will switch em out when they get here...the coils themselves were $175/pop from subaru...i don't remember them being that expensive...but here we are.
  18. nope. the aluminum arms for 5th gens that you find are JDM and are, i believe, ~5mm narrower, so they can "fit" but they don't really fit.
  19. they're on rock auto, but their part numbers are CMS801115 and CMS801114, can just google em and they're for sale everywhere
  20. mevotech front arms are definitely a worthwhile upgrade...heard some chatter about the ball joints not be top not but i've put ~15k on mine and they're still just fine...small sample size but hey. and yeah 19mm RSB made a world of difference when I installed mine...thinking about upgrading to a 22 but have more suspension work that's more important first, but for $50 for one from a junk yard or craigslist or whatever, definitely a good bang for the buck upgrade to go 19.
  21. looks great in there! lots of work, but looks like it's perfect, and the extra cooling will be a god send for the tranny. have you thought about adding some rubber or some sort of isolator to the overflow bottle? would hate to see it pop a hole due to metal on metal vibrations
  22. i use a cheap chinese drop in HID kit in mine...quite bright. just make sure you aim them down a little bit so you're not blinding people, but the projectors have a decent cutoff pattern, so they're fine. i've had that set for ~10 years now switching between different cars, and they still work just fine, replaced bulbs twice.
  23. well...that was not expected...thing looks clean AF, enjoy it
  24. if you use the wrong kind of grease(petroleum based vs silicone i believe...) the rubber swells. that little collar is just to help squealing as far as i know so you're fine not having it in there...mine definitely weren't the first time i did pads...kit came with new hardware last time i changed them so i reinstalled...no difference.
