  1. Getting excited for tomorrow. Picking up the freshly painted body parts and dropping off at the shop along with the S402 mufflers. I'm probably going to ask if I can put @madrig's spoiler on while I'm there ha. Little sneak peak and refresher of the parts. Emotion Fukuoka rear bumper (taped off portion is a satin black), Madrig CF wing (Liberal style), OEM sport side skirts and JDM mirror cover garnishes. Trying to decide if I'm going to post my full set of strakes/spats for sale or keep for the parts hoard. Probably hoard.
  2. @KZJonny Yes, the GS bracing is still compatible with the STI MC. I swapped the STI master cylinder in mine with all the other brake work but I haven't had a chance to test it personally yet since we're doing a bunch of other things at the same time and just consistently crappy weather recently. I personally hated the feel of the LGT brakes the first time driving the car back after purchase. Every car I've owned has had better brake feel short of my '99 Jeep XJ, ymmv. @SoobyDoobyDoo Things are moving. Dropped off the wing, bumper, skirts, and mirror garnishes for paint this morning and should be done early next week. Picking up a new dashboard from Subaru within the next few hours and running it up to shop later tonight. That was a last minute audible, he had the entire dash apart working on other wiring and I just decided to get the new one since the sticky is creeping in on mine and what better time. I personally wanted to try and tackle this one but I don't foresee any free time between tax season and baby #2 due in May.
  3. @Code Your post reminded me I was supposed to follow up. The color on my calipers is Prismatic's Dusted Candy Blue. Posting the pic of it for convenient reference, wheels are gunmetal. That color with hyper silver should look really good. I like your philosophy and don't think it's cliche, but might be biased as I'm pretty much doing the same on mine. Only color outside of the white/cf is the blue grampus signals, blue plated JDM headlights, calipers, and then the ION fogs to pay homage to the rally colors. I guess the taillights would be the exception but kinda a moot point.
  4. Appreciate it! I know what you mean all to well. I kinda reversed my philosophy with my TSX. Removed the manufacturer's badge and added the Type S badge instead on the rear. It's extremely rare that anyone knows what the car is so it all still works out ha.
  5. @WRX USA Much appreciated! I didn't even think about the tonneau. I typically remove them just because of the dogs but I'm definitely adding it to the list.
  6. Yahoo Japan auctions/buyee here as well. It get's a bad rap on the shipping and sometimes you do get bent over but it's honestly not that bad. It all depends on how the seller packages it, same item can have wildly different shipping prices. I've taken packages I've bought from the auctions to a retail UPS store and most times that same package shipped via ground to the West coast is more expensive than what I paid for ~7 day shipping from Japan.
  7. @WRX USA I did or at least I think I did if we're thinking about the same thing. Part #'s I ordered are below. I found it pretty neat how simple the whole mechanism/operation is. I bet I'll need to do the rivnut as well, we did a quick check of holding it to the spot and it did look like 1 of the spots needed something, other 2 lined up with existing striker mount point. R - 64375AG100, L - 64375AG110
  8. @alex0856, @WRX USA said it well. To add, the rear seat power fold is just a one way function to fold the seats from the cargo area. You'd still have to go to each seat and lift them manually to put them back up. The cargo trim I got also came from a rear seat recline option car and that is actually very simple to retrofit in as you just need the adj striker from Subaru and the rear seat bolster with the button built in to actuate it. If you're going to go this route it would be easiest to buy a JDM rear seat set since the power actuator is located within it. You can tell if it has the actuator in them because you'll see a harness coming out of each side of the seat. But I do have spare actuator pieces if you're interested in trying to retrofit them in your current seats. I also mostly see the cargo fans in tan but black ones do pop up from time to time on the auctions. There was one that just sold this morning actually. It extracts air from the rear and pushes it out through the pressure vent that's located under the bumper. The fishing pole accessory he mentioned is pretty slick.
  9. @WRX USA Mine is part# H7017AG021 and includes both front and rear. I'm curious what the difference is, LED color maybe? Would think so since even just the front kit part# in the accessory catalog is H7017AG020 but idk.
  10. Nah, just slap it on. Paint can be fixed and it looks waaayyyy better than the USDM front. I wouldn't be surprised if that's a rear emblem "reworked" to look like the grill one. Seems to be fairly common from what I see on the auctions. I've got the front emblem sitting in a box in storage until I can motivate myself to track down someone that can restore it. Even then I probably won't put it on the car as I prefer to de-badge my cars short of the manufacturer's emblems. Have a car that's good enough to make them look, but keep them guessing is my motto.
  11. They just had the silver covers, part #'s are below. Don't you have the fenders as well, what's going on with those? 91054AG040G1 & 91054AG050G1
  12. Getting ready for the JDM bumper. Had to notch out a few places on the mounts that slide into the frame but otherwise fits great. Since I won't need the muffler tip extensions anymore I picked up some S402 mufflers off the auctions to cannibalize and have the tips welded onto the Invidia for those sweet embossed STI logo's. In other news and in typical fashion for me, I got inspired, or spiraled depending on who you ask, to start & finish up some long-term desired projects so ordered some more parts from Japan. Going to add the rear seat recline option along with the power fold buttons in the rear cargo trim. Also going to install the JDM cargo fan option, Subaru OEM footwell lighting after swapping LED color, get the power folding mirror harness installed, and finally get the steering wheel controls to work from my 11-14 STI wheel swap I did years ago. Going to have a nice long list of items to update my build thread with. Hope everyone had a great New Years and Happy Year of the Wagon, sorry Dragon!
  13. @Code I actually don't know the exact color. Just realized I never bothered to ask him, but in short it's Candy Blue. I should probably reach out and ask for the records. The purple you're seeing are Powerflex PU rear subframe bushings.
  14. Swung by the shop yesterday to drop off some items and got an update. All remaining new hardware got delivered today and then moving onto the chassis braces. Sad news is the Endless SS brake lines I got were the wrong ones so resorted to using the custom made SS set specifically for Legacy Brembo conversions. Brake setup looks damn good though.
  15. Bought some more stuff for it. Snagged a set of S402 door cards from the auctions that I'll be cannibalizing just for the CF trim piece since these don't have the McIntosh mid-range speaker option. Also grabbed a set of the OEM Sport option side skirts and will most likely be removing my strake/spat set from the car. The Emotion Fukuoka bumper sits lower than OEM and I have a preemptive feeling the sport skirts will flow better than the strake/spat but I guess we'll see. I'm going to have the painter paint but not install the skirts so I can decide later on switching. Also not sure how I'm going to feel about the quad tips of the Q300 with this bumper since the cutouts are clearly shaped for a big dual tip setup. Other than that just waiting on some minor items replacement parts (i.e. bolts and bearings) to show up to get the suspension & brake changes done. Mentioned this in another forum post but found out one of my front Koni's was shot so decided to pull the trigger on RCE Tarmac c/o's. Will be replacing the Koni, under warranty hopefully, but what also drove that decision was wanting to get away from the Swift springs and raise the car a tad for a little extra front lip protection. In hindsight, glad I went with blue on the calipers as I got a nice Bob Ross/happy accident regarding the color scheme.
  16. Eh, it is what it is. I wasn't excited for the impromptu cost but I am looking forward to getting away from the Swift springs and to raise the car a bit for a little extra protection of the S402 lip. The odd thing was that there were no signs of a fluid leak on the strut at all so I'm curious to see what Koni says when I send it off. I still have no complaints about the Koni's though. If the Subie was still a daily I'd just replace any under the warranty and be on my way, maybe change the springs, but still think they're a great choice all things considered. Have Koni's on the TSX wagon with RSR springs and love that setup. Although I find it a little annoying that those shocks give you 2 perch mounting points for a little flexibility in desired ride height compared to the Subaru.
  17. So this thread has kinda come full circle for me. While the car is at the shop for the Brembo install I gave them a set of GroupN tophats to replace my Whiteline ComC's and they found the front right shock was completely done for and the shock will compress completely on it's own from gravity. That's after about ~30k miles & 5yrs of being installed. Now there was a period within that time where the car was on a lift for over a year and all the suspension was unloaded the entire time. Idk if that contributed to the premature failure but it makes me wonder nonetheless. They're going to check out the rest sometime this week and I'll report back then. I found some old forum posts late last night (sorry I forgot to save them and link) where Myles briefly discussed the differences between the KW's and the RCE's valving which has to do with the different springs used. The KW's use progressive springs while the RCE's use linear ones and the valving was changed on the RCE's to compensate. One of the other benefits of a linear spring is that it allows for more travel when compared to a progressive spring of the same dimension. See the link for a more in depth read on progressive vs. linear springs. https://www.hypercoils.com/progressive-springs-vs.-linear I ended up deciding to pull the trigger on a set of RCE Tarmac's and they should be getting delivered before the end of the week. Once the other Koni's are looked at I'm going to go through the warranty process to replace any need and then list those and the swift springs up for sale.
  18. Installed Madrig's CF wing a few weekends ago. Terrible pic but absolutely love it! Other than that haven't done much with it other than drive it around ton, to the shop, and schedule a bunch of work for it to get done this November. Wife and I are expecting our 2nd child in early May next year so I've been getting really motivated to complete some long outstanding projects before it gets tucked away for the winter that I also don't want to deal with in the spring. Brake upgrade is starting next week and sooner than expected since parts are getting delivered early. While it's in for that I'm having them install GroupN tophats to ditch the Whiteline ComC's and add camber adj bolts in the front. Also installing STI Flexible lower arm bar (ST2051221010), STI Support kit (ST20106ZR000) and a Laile Beatrush rear frame end bar. I'm seriously giddy about getting the brake work done. This is going to look and presumably perform phenomenally. Once all that work is completed the car is going off to paint to have partial work done on the spoiler and to get the Emotion Fukuoka rear bumper matched and installed. Staying with the same theme for the bumper but on the spoiler only the outer weave section is getting painted so the side profile flows nicely but the center sections I'm keeping exposed to show off the weave. Should be a fun month of stuff, really wish I could be more hands on with the projects but free time just seems to disappear these days.
  19. Place called PCT Coatings in Anderson, IN. Shane Marshall is the man and you can look him up on FB to see what he's done. Awesome stuff and would highly recommend!
  20. No, they're the standard rotor size for the 04-07 STI's. I've got tbSTI rear backing plates going on at install and they have identical parking brake dimensions to the STI's so you can have your pick of the litter for rear rotor choice, which is nice. The only thing Girodisc mentions is that the brake pads may need to be shaved. The ones they sell have it done already but I didn't want to have different brake pads f&r which pushed me towards Endless. That, and everything I read online were people raving about the Endless pads. @BoozeRS05 tagging you so you don't miss this.
  21. Powder coater sent me an update on the Bremboi's. Should be picking them up next week. Decided to go with Candy Blue and bright silver logo's. I really like how the logo is actually powder coated on and not just a sticker or other. Still waiting on a few parts to arrive before install but I'm itching to get this project done - honestly went way overkill but screw it. Going with Endless MX72 Plus pads F&R, Endless SS lines, Paragon 2-piece front rotors, Girodisc 2-piece rear rotors (couldn't find a manufacturer that makes a full 2-piece set) along with the STI BMC & booster. Hopefully should have everything delivered mid-November, so it can be installed right before it gets put away for the winter . Oh and the tuning is 99% done. Just working on improving cold starts due to an exorcism of things that thou shall not be mentioned. Wagon rips though, still need to do a log to see how quick I can get to full boost.
  22. Pretty self-explanatory but for those that don't know this is a FRP wagon spoiler made by @madrig . In great condition with no chips, scratches, gouges, etc and all mounting studs are perfectly intact. Only reason for selling is I upgraded to one of his carbon fiber wings. Price includes Paypal fee but not shipping. ***FYI, this is not Subaru's satin white pearl*** Asking: $OLD
  23. Set of tbSTI rear backing plates for sale in good condition. These allow you to do a rear Brembo upgrade the proper way imo. Benefits of these is you DO NOT need caliper mounting adapter brackets (which requires trimming the lower control arms) or the parking brake adapter shoes. Any 04-07 rear STI rotors (5x100) will work with these. Asking price includes paypal fee but not shipping. It's also cheaper than buying a new set of caliper mounting brackets & parking brake adapter shoes. Asking: $OLD
  24. @ChicagoSam I'll try to get some pic's for you this week/weekend. I actually have a set of the rainbow/ion fogs on my black TSX wagon so I can pass along some information. That car has switchback (white/yellow) LED bulbs for the fogs. With the bulbs on white, the fogs look the coolest imo. The rainbow film is projected a bit and the fogs will look like different colors (something between white, blue, yellow) depending on what angle you're looking at them. When the bulbs are switched to yellow they look just that.... yellow from any angle.
