  1. Sure thing. Not sure if it'll happen soon since the UAW is hell bent on striking.
  2. I was very much enamoured with my LS1 Z28. Had it for 17 years. The new ones are not LS platform anymore. The 6.2L is an LT1 or LT4, again same as the Vette. Bringing the Camaro back as an electric is blasphemy. Just as much as a Corvette SUV.
  3. So, you're looking for a new car with V8 and a manual transmission.....not many choices! Camaro 1SS 1LE or Mustang GT w/ handling package?
  4. Could maybe have two sub categories for east and west? There are plenty of us in Ontario, and when I was looking for my LGT a few years back there seemed to be a good number of them in BC and Alberta....
  5. You might have to pull the HU and ensure all connections are good. Check the antenna amplifier connections in the hatch door and the wires that run through on the left hand side to the main cabin (these can wear and break over the years). Check signals at the antenna amp. Check grounds. My radio problem is I only started getting stations with strong signals. Weaker stations that I used to get fine go in and out as I drive about the city.
  6. I had something similar a few years ago. It was one of the coolant lines to the turbo had corroded and developed a hole. Chances are that's the case here too. I had it bad, with sweet coolant smoke pouring out from the scoop, underneath the car, anywhere it could come out. I'd get that narrowed down before it gets that bad.
  7. I did my headlights on the weekend. As the driver side was quite yellow, I started with 800 grit sandpaper and wet sanded through 1000, 2000 and 3000 grit. Used the polish and did that twice. Applied the sealant. They look better.....
  8. Finally got to lubing my RSB bushings. 3 of the 4 bolts snapped, even after liberal PB blaster and torching. Turned a 1 hour job into a 5 hour job. Sigh. It's done though, with nice stainless bolts and plenty of anti-seize and no more squeaking and groaning. 1 item down, like 15 to go.
  9. If anyone is ever interested, the stock tweeter size - with housing - is 1.375". The tweeter itself is approx .750". The bracket will hold a tweeter housing up to 1.5" without modification.
  10. This thread is a tribute to the saying "Just because you can doesn't mean you should."
  11. Yes. On wagons it is under the trim around the top of the hatch. IIRC on sedans it is located under the parcel shelf in the trunk area.
  12. Glad to say mine has been super clean every change (save that thin film of oil).
  13. Mine got worse after installing ELH and catless up. I think the inlet got cracked during the uppipe install which is giving the ecu fits. My tuner noticed during that session that the open and closed loop weren't changing over smoothly, right around that 2k-3.5k rpm range. So, get the air flowing correctly and change the fuel filter (and add the 2 o-rings as suggested) and see if that helps.
  14. Bucking is an over-dramatization. There is a serous hesitation/stumble though. Every time I have seen my tuner, he always says he's amazed at how healthy my EJ is. Aside from the stumble, everything else checks out. Good fuel trims, no timing change from the ecu, strong vacuum.....only issue is the change from open to closed loop. Hoping making sure there are no intake leaks and making sure there is enough fuel supply (should probably have the fuel filter changed while the pump basket is out too) will get rid of it.
  15. I've had the stumble since I got the car a few years ago. I've done a few of the suggested things to no avail. I've ordered a new turbo inlet, tb to ic connector, fuel pump (dw 65c) and a new MAF. Only thing left after that will be a fpr, but hopefully one of these things along with an updated tune will get rid of it. So annoying to be getting on the highway at light throttle and have the car pretty much bucking through that 2500-3500 rpm range.
  16. My front left mid-range woofer has gone to the afterlife. I put in a 6.5" component set from Alpine, with a 1" tweeter. Necessitated modification - I glued it into the "grille" for the door. Since I will have to replace the set, I'd like to get something with a smaller tweeter so I can mount it back on the door and not have to worry about removing the door card when needed. So to the question, does anyone off hand know what the stock tweeter size is? Google has not been helpful (probably not searching right criteria), didn't find a spec in the forum. By memory it looked like a 3/4", but that is from a quick look. I have some old ones in my basement somewhere but I am hoping someone has the answer so I don't have to search in that mess downstairs.
  17. On Saturday, I washed the LGT. Sunday morning I tried to grease my RSB bushings. I say tried, cause I attempted to turn one bolt (after giving it a liberal shot of PB Blaster) and the ratchet was turning more than the threaded portion. Didn't have time or inclination to deal with a broken bolt (or breaking out a torch) so that will have to wait until this weekend.
  18. Ah hell. I have my old set with broken boots sitting in the basement! Miss a little miss a lot around here!
  19. That's wild. I figured the symbol with the ! was a universal thing.
  20. Ours in Canada are like that too. I've never seen it say BRAKE before....
  21. I'm looking at either the Perrin or Cobb. The Perrin seems better to me. I'm not going to sacrifice my sanity for the install.
