  1. I really like mine, I already got used to the unnatural feel in the cornering where in the past my body would normally move with the curve do to the inertia, but now I feel much less of that movement. Also one very important thing to mention is that now every time when I pass large truck I do not feel that side wind from the truck pushing me left or right. so far I have: 1.Perrin steering wheel lock dampener 2. 20mm rsb 3. ssd bar If someone has part number for kartboy endlinks that go with our 20mm rsb please let me know the part number and what improvements you notice
  2. Hi, in the future for any car if you have any questions about what bulb you need you can always go to: https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/apps/vlrg-us/Vlrg/ If I was you I would convert all to led, since you are already replacing fog light bulbs and they are the hardest to replace from all because you have to go under the car, so just look for whatever LED is equivalent to whatever results you get for bulb size. 6000K is nice color
  3. I am sure it will stiffen front end I feel it and also can tell by dashboard rattles most of them disappeared after ssd bar. Also according to carcomplaints.com Legacy already has multiple complaints for cracked windshields for no reason. I am positive front end is flexing in turns and creating stress on the windshield.
  4. Sorry if this sounds too complicated for you. Thanks for keeping this post refreshed. There are couple of guys already talking to me about this. I suggest if you do not have anything nice to say do not say anything. Your shallow brain is only good for tractor driving and chasing chickens. Get a life Sir.
  5. can you remove line from the pump near the reservoir and see if it sprays from there? That will tell you that you have a clog somewhere in the line. To be sure make sure you have 12V dc at the pump connector every time someone sprays the fluid for you.
  6. watch this video PM me, we can work on this together if you want to have European car steering feel/weight
  7. If you hear the pump under the hood then your fluid could be frozen if you used summer grade by mistake.
  8. both are good and will save you time and keep things clean. I know that FUMOTO has spring loaded locking mechanism that you have to lift up and turn to the right to open the valve.
  9. at 265lb 6'5" my driver's seat also squeaking and sounds like springs
  10. from pic frame looks good, you should not have any wheel alignment problems.
  11. Yes, they can tell based on the tire wear if your alignment was bad, so they are not cheating you. Anyway it is good to have alignment done with 4 new tires to make sure they are not damaged by bad alignment. Caster is not adjustable, Camber was probably OK so they did not touch it Toe most of the time is the problem unless they are the old school "set the toe and let it go" Anyway they were supposed to give you a printout of your alignment before and after.
  12. Who ever is experiencing stability issues and has some electrical knowledge PM me I think I have the solution. I have diagrams and instructions what to do I do electrical and mechanical but if you do not know what potentiometer is then I can not help you much. But if you do, PM me and we can work on this together. Basically with two potentiometers we can tap into steering torque sensor and make the sensors think that less assistance is needed and you can basically dial in your favorite steering wheel weight. Then if you are creative you can install switch for sport and normal mode I think that the 6th generation steering is not correctly calibrated for speed sensitivity. The faster we go the firmer the steering should be and I do not feel that. It feels the same from parking to 85mph. Here is just the link where I got the idea. http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&title=Modifying-Electric-Power-Steering&A=111532 again if you are electrically inclined and want to improve your steering PM me I have factory Subaru maintenance manual sorry can't put it out open since it can be dangerous if you do not know what you are doing.
  13. Yes original Goodyear Assurance All season tires 20K on them now. Anyway I am not the only one complaining trust me, it is the way people ask questions. Just type in to the search box for this forum "stability" or "crosswind" and you will see all the posts where people are complaining about stability problems.
  14. That is no problem, the whole world is installing strut towers bars on sport cars, and most of them come from factory with a bar and then we have one or two geniuses that had nothing in their lives but farming machines, tractors and possibly their first car telling everyone else that strut bars are BS. Of course any car you test will feel much better than a tractor in cross winds. Also if you are posting your fuelly stats that tells me you are concerned about fuel consumption and must drive slower than most of us, so you do not need tower brace. This forum is supposed to be for people helping each other, not to put others down and tell them how smarter you are. All of you sooner or later if not already deep down inside of you know that 6th generation is very very loose in strong winds comparing to other cars and as I said one day be a man come here and admit. I work on cars for living 24 years and know how they are supposed to react especially when you had many under your belt to compare with. SSD strut tower brace is amazing, I have nothing from them nor I am advertising them, but guys that want to invest in bar I suggest that one and to stay away from the toothpick ones that flex. I also recommend putting some masking tape under the bar part that mounts to the strut tower to avoid any metal to metal contact. Trust me guys SSD bar works good when you come on the paved roads and highways.
  15. AGM battery is very good. I have it on my diesels. They have gel in them and the good thing about them is that they can be drained to empty and recharged to full many times before they die comparing to regular battery that looses most of its life one time it goes completely empty. For parasitic draw test, disconnect your negative battery terminal, set your DVOM to mili amps, connect red to negative battery terminal and connect black lead to negative battery cable. World standard is 50mA should not be more, but if our specs say 70mA then go by what specs say. If you see more than 70mA, start disconnecting fuse one by one and see when the number drops. When you see number drop you have problem with that circuit.
  16. I use Mobile 1 0w-20 or 5w-20 if Walmart does not have 0w-20. They have best prices. (stay away from FRAM oil filters) I ordered box of 12 oem oil filters and have the FUMOTO oil drain valve that makes oil changes clean and plus you will never need to use tool and and crush washers. search FUMOTO oil drain valve and get yourself one that has nipple so you can put rubber hose on it and divert oil into empty oil container without drop of oil on your hands or floor.
  17. SSD strut tower brace is one piece, when you try to pull on the brace there is no play nor any movement. I am not saying nor I said anything that it fixed my issue please read above, all I said is that you really feel the rail type like handling. If you do not believe here is the link for subaru engineers testing flexible strut tower brace and they like it, you can imagine what one piece solid ssd brace does. Again I did not say that it fixed crosswind stability, I am at last trying and is one very simple and inexpensive mod anyone can do in 10 min. Thicker RSB upgrade I only feel on highway, this SSD brace you feel instantly after installation and will continue to feel the difference any time you drive your car. Highly recommended to all.
  18. You said it better than me: I did drive 2006 Mercedes Benz CDI very heavy car felt like a tank on the road, also wife's MK4 TDI very tight and planted feel for both vehicles even more surprising is the stability of the 2015 Scion xb that has amazing steering wheel feel/weight and better stability in the wind than Legacy. Anyway just installed SSD front tower brace. I did not get chance to test it on highway and in wind, but there was instant unnatural feel like I was on the rails as soon as I left the parking spot. One very interesting thing to mention also is that all the dashboard squeaks and rattles are 100% gone after strut tower brace, which tells me that there was some flexing in the front end.
  19. Ok. how do you explain then 2017 Elantra GT moving next to me with the same wind conditions like an arrow straight in the center of the road with 0 (zero) left and right movements. I was going 72mph and he/she had to be going over 80mph with no problems at all. I have researched this instability feeling and it happens to basically all subaru body shapes including WRX's so it makes me to believe that aerodynamics is not the issue, it must be something with the suspension. It would not surprise me since they installed that toothpick/noodle size RSB that almost everyone needed to change. For a moment I was thinking that the front end is too light, but then I see complaints even with 3.6L motor.
  20. agree with you with the steering wheel feel, it is bit too light and too sensitive to change direction. But what confuses me is that 2017 elantra GT on the same day passed by me at 80+ mph and I tried to watch it as far as I could for any side to side movement to see if he/she is experiencing same wind problems and to be honest not at all, that thing was moving straight in the center of the left lane like an arrow while I had to keep my both hands at 10 and 2 like a grandma moving steering wheel left and right every half second by roughly 3/4" in both directions to keep it straight.
  21. That is nice, but in order to average 37 mpg you have to drive 55mph correct me if I am wrong. Anyway on November 30th on I 70 eastbound from Colorado to Illinois crosswind warning was issued with 65mph winds and they were hitting me from the left side exactly at the right angle and going anything above 70mph was possible but not fun. I am 6'5" 260lb and I have strength to hold the steering wheel that is not a problem. I am also GM tech so I know about cars and how things work, but my wife's MK4 Jetta TDI and Scion XB 2nd generation both are more stable in crosswinds. When there is no winds I have no complaints with subaru at all. Then most of you that do not notice problems must be driving under 65mph or even less if you can average 37mpg. Anyway sooner or later you will all experience what I did and hope you will come here and admit.
  22. gentlemen: I think our cars have serious problems with front end if you do not believe me try driving from Colorado using I -70 east in November/December with cross winds. You will not be able to drive faster than 65mph. And you will notice all other cars pass you by like they do not feel crosswinds at all. I tried to search "legacy crosswinds" and quickly noticed that WRX's, outbacks, foresters are complaining for same problem. Don't they have crosswinds in Japan?
  23. Update: just got back from 1200 mile trip and was very disappointed. I think our cars have serious problems with suspension setup. Who ever says I do not feel any problems is not driving on the problematic highways. Try taking I-70 eastbound from Colorado and go east towards Chicago. I have to say it is embarrassing watching small cars like focuses and Jettas and Hyundai moving 80mph + in crosswinds while my car is going like I am drunk if I want to keep up with them. Research it is not only legacy it is outbacks, imprezas, foresters all of them. Even my son at one point said look at that little focus sims like it is not bothering him at all. bottom line: 20mm rsb, pereen steering lock will not help you at all in this situations.
