  1. Stumbled upon this.. not sure if you’ve seen already..maybe worth a try See post 31 https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2786898&page=2
  2. You could use the device below to set the puddle lights on a timer. If you wire the trigger into the keyless unlock wire and diode isolate it from the unlock door switch side you could have it trigger the lights on for a preset time upon keyless unlock and not when you unlock from the door switch. https://www.amazon.com/Directed-Electronics-528T-Accessory-Pulse/dp/B0009WP09K You may find it cheaper elsewhere this was just for reference
  3. Yes. I did the map light mod. Great upgrade since my dome light is like 2ft behind my head due to the sunroof. If you do it make sure to follow instructions as they’re posted and use LEDs in place of incandescents to reduce load on the BIU. You may or may not be successful adding puddle light to this mod as I don’t think anyone has info on what the BIU can handle load wise. Maybe if you can figure out the load applied by the single dome bulb and compare it to load applied by the number of LEDs you want to add you may be able to keep yourself from burning up the BIU dome light circuit. BTW Since the BIU fades out the lighting a relay added to the circuit will most likely chatter/buzz as it dims.
  4. Did you double check the fuse for the fuel pump. I pulled mine to prime the oil pump and you probably did too... did it get back where it belongs?
  5. Found this pic online. You want to move black piece on top pump over then stack 2 orings on top
  6. Spacer is on the original pump it looks like a plastic cylinder iirc then 2 orings stacked on top of that.
  7. This happened to me too.. Got sick to my stomach that I somehow did something wrong on assembly. Glad I walked away and googled. I found a thread on nasioc that lead me to pulling the filter as well. Once I put the filter back, within seconds I had pressure. Holy crap that was scary. My buddy said I was white as a ghost. Now we laugh about it.
  8. Unless you know the current rating for the switch you may want to wire in a bosch type relay to avoid the possibility of burning out the switch contacts when the pump is being used. Similar to wiring aftermarket fog lights to a car. Here’s something that may help make this work more like oem https://www.amazon.com/Directed-Electronics-528T-Accessory-Pulse/dp/B0009WP09K You may find it cheaper elsewhere
  9. On the turbo cars we remove the screens but ours are a different set up (inside a banjo bolt) as mentioned above. I’d think its fine to remove but....ymmv The fact that they are torn makes me wonder if someone was already in there and tried picking them out to inspect them and damaged them in the process.
  10. The drain pipe on the bottom of the turbo is slightly angled. Iirc it needs to angle toward the front of the car. If it faces back it won’t line up. If you removed it to seal the flange I’d double check its orientation.
  11. This is normal operation of an open diff. If you had a way to safely put resistance to the spinning tire the other one would start to spin. Both rear wheels spin due to lsd. You got a code because of the non spinning wheel. If you were on the ground driving it would recognize the free wheel as rotating at a similar speed. Had you given it enough miles it most likely would have cleared on its own. Since its abs related it wants to hang around a while. The sound sounds to me like a dust shield making contact with a rotor or perhaps a brake shoe making noise. Have you tried gently applying the parking brake while backing up to see if the noise changes?
  12. What’s involved: https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/my-turn-adjust-valve-clearances-242071.html
  13. Valves can actually stretch. When they do they close the gap between the bucket and cam lobe. When that clearance is gone the valve will stay open slightly. This will show on a leak down test as air is now escaping though the slightly open valve. When doing a leak down test the mechanic can listen for where the air is escaping. If its through the oil filler it can be a ring / ringland issue. If through the exhaust it could be exhaust valve and intake could be intake valve. At this point you may want to find someone to bore scope the problem cylinders to see if there’s anything obvious. If there isn’t anything obvious it could just be valve clearance.
  14. Could simply be a valve clearance issue. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. A bad timing belt tensioner will create a noise like a rod knock when it’s bouncing on the belt. I would imagine that one that’s not fully gone could sound like piston slap. Search YouTube for that and you can hear what it sounds like for comparison. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Glad that it’s actually a spec b. Which at this point may not matter since it’s so modified. As for the seats... maybe Canadian market spec bs have different trim. Regardless you bought an interesting car and with a little research you’ll know exactly what’s been done to it. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Yes I believe there is. Looks like his just says SI drive. Looks blurry in the pic but I don’t see a # Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. LGT never came with 6 speed (unless spec b). Red intake manifold indicates STI. STI came w/6 speed. I’m not sure spec b ever came w/black leather seats.
  19. I might be wrong but looks like it’s a legacy gt with an sti swap (motor and transmission) and some spec b badging. I’d check that vin with Subaru to confirm what you have there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. I went with Headgames as was recommended by my tuner (Precision tuning). They are somewhat local to me. Spent some time talking to Dave (the owner) when I dropped the heads off. He answered all my questions and had my heads done in a week. I think price wise it was more expensive than a general machine shop but I felt more comfortable spending that extra for their Subaru knowledge/experience.
  21. I think the grimmspeed bracket may only work with the stock bracket with a stock inlet.
