  3. Looking to buy the chubby Sti gauge pack. If you got one and are consider selling it pm me what your asking for it.
  4. Basically what the title says. If I was to go to a junkyard and get a biu as long as the part number matches my old one. Would the dealer be able to reprogram it to match my vehicle? My biu is a little fried. When I open the doors the dome lights don’t come on. I swapped to my old auto biu and they come on. It’s not a wiring problem either because all of the harnesses that are in the car came out of the manual car I used to swap.
  5. Ya that’s how I kinda feel about it. It goes into gear. It runs. It’s putting down 302awhp even tho I barely use all of that lol. Guess I’ll just crawl back under there make sure everything is tight and just learn to deal with it until it breaks haha
  6. It’s a 5mt. It doesn’t make any other noises besides those. My shifter was rattling to but like I said up top it was just loose u joint bolts. honestly this is my first manual so I don’t know if it’s bad or good or if it’s normal or what lol
  7. Well the tranny I swapped in. Was a 5eat. Decided to have some fun and do a auto to manual conversion. So with that included me putting near gear oil in there. Motul 300. The gauge cluster I got reads 209k so I’m assuming that’s how many miles are on the tranny
  8. No the u joint that is under the car that rivets to the part that goes into the tranny. Also with that rattling gone found out I got a faint grinding noise every time I shift gears like I missed a gear but not loud and I can’t feel it and a grinding noise while my car is under load but disappears at idle or if I fully let off the clutch. It also doesn’t do it if I rev it up in neutral either
  9. Nevermind useless posts It was the u joint the bolts weren’t tight -.- sorry for the spam lol
  10. So I always had a rattling shifter under load. After install a kartboy sts it seemed to get louder. Finally decided to crawl under there and check it out. It sounds like the shifter that goes into the transmission is what is rattling. The u joint on it doesn’t make any noise that’s what my friend suggested first. Any idea how to stop this. Is this something that would require the tranny to be taken off to replace or fix?
  11. Anyone wouldn’t happen to have one of the legacy gt oem momo shift knobs for sale would they? C1010SE000 I really like the look of it and don’t really want to use the air leather because of the set screws.
  12. Looking to buy a set of heated cloth manual seats from a 2005 legacy gt. I’m willing to drive maybe bout 3 hours from Pittsburgh to get them. If you got em and are reasonably close pm me thanks. The heater controller and wiring would be nice also.
  13. Well including the crank guide 4. Really? I thought the crank guide would atleast be some kind of protection haha
  14. So next problem is it looks like I bought automatic rear timing covers. The difference between them and the manual one is the manual covers have holes for the timing guides by the cams. Now what would you guys do? Use the automatic timing covers and just use the guide on the crank? Or get the manual ones so I’m using all four guides?
  15. Are you installing a GS EBCS also? If so all the pills get deleted. If not I would assume you replicate whatever the vf46 had. But someone with more knowledge on this will chime in soon.
  16. Just to do it the right way the first time. I’ll get another o ring from Subaru and install it the correct way whenever it comes in along with my few coolant hoses I broke. I’m in no rush with all the covid stuff going on -_-
  17. It wasn’t a lot it was a very small bead. Only part that has me worried is the rtv circling the o ring possibly even being on the o ring.
  18. Okay thanks guys still up in there air if I want to reuse them or replace them. Lol So another question in the search of trying to find this oil leak. I resealed my oil pump. Well I circle both bottom holes with rtv instead of just the one without the o ring. Looking at the guides it looks like they only circled one. I’m assuming this is going to mess with the seal on the o ring if rtv gets on it correct? Should I remove it and redo it? Or should I be fine?
  19. So I planned on doing my timing belt today. The timing cover bolts were just spinning and don’t come out. So I had to break the covers which is why I just planned on changing all the covers, the timing belt kit, the cam and crank seals, reseal the oil pump. Everything. Well I bought this car a little over a year ago. They did the timing change before I bought it. I assumed it would of just been a cheap brand with Chinese pulleys all that stuff. So I bought an aisin kit. Well surprise surprise. After finally fighting with the covers. All the pulleys are made in Japan, water pump is oem. Only thing that I saw wasn’t made in Japan or oem was the belt itself. So brings me to the real question. With this kit having only 10k on it should I put it back together with the old stuff they used and save the aisin kit for later use. Or replace everything since I’m in there anyways?
  20. Welp guess that solves that time for a whole front and rear harness then lol. Thanks guys. Only problem now is finding the harnesses. Subaru still offers the rear one but the front one got discontinued within the last month -_-
  21. Bump. Also looks like I’d take the wires that are above the headliner also. Can only be 2005 or 2006. Later years use different harnesses.
  22. Hey guys so the auto to manual swap is pretty much done. Made 300awhp and 316tq on a mustang dyno with 18psi on a vf48. So now I’m just fixing everything making it look factory. And all of that fun stuff. So the front harness that’s under the dash. Whoever ripped out the wires cut EVERY single air bag connector. So basically seeing what your opinions on how to go about this. 1. Run it without airbags 2. Find the connectors from the junkyard and splice em in 3. Replace the whole entire harness again. Thanks
