yeah a 2 hour drive might be much. The ground work laid is perfect as maybe a condensed version of that would be best. Leave more time for finally being able to talk like minded people in person. It gets old responding to outsiders (non car folk) "oh you're into cars, what kind of car do you have?" and they get confused when I tell them my project car is a LGT wagon.

oh i forgot to add. Maybe I'll try to get a new windshield. Not sure how hold this one is but it is fairly pitted and direct sunlight while driving is rough

Having a deadline makes me think of this as a reality tv show that is "legacy gt customs" where the deadline is real and so is the odometer reading! Can't wait for the fake drama as we all try to get these cars more road worthy haha

I'll join in. Must do: -Buy all the Supertech oil available from local walmarts That was easy. Just hit order and it 6x 5qrt containers showed up - bleed the brakes. Fluid is coming up on 4 years old likelihood of happening before the meet 56% chance - Clean off some paint I stupidly put on the machined surface of the knuckles where wheel bearings go. (Don't tell me how I am an idiot...I already know that). Car has been driving fine, it just not the correct thing to have done likelihood of happening before meet 0% chance - Maybe fix / replace all evap lines for the gas tank....maybe a new tank too . Not mission critical as it still runs fine but it'd be nice to have that not leak every now and again likelihood of happening before the meet 0% chance - replace windshield. This is bumped up since a bolder decided to hit me...eh its been over due to be replaced anyway Nice to do: - refinish face lifted headlights likelihood before meet - idk but I made a promise - install face lifted front bumper and fenders likelihood before meet - idk but I made a promise Complete!!! Because prioritizing this above the "Must do" makes total sense - replace leather wrap on steering wheel lol - the list goes on for mods as I am sure that's the case for most everyone here -

Lol same. I think between the natural oil burning and then oil slosh makes me assume it's make it 2 corners before spinning a bearing. So it's known for the convoy from NE, I cruise no faster than 70 on the highway. I have a known oil burn rate at that speed. Any higher rpm/boost and idk how many miles to the quart haha

I do have a few things myself to fix up but having bought a house really throws off any spare time. Step 1 is ordering plenty of supertech oil to last me the summer and now this road trip! That is the minimum. Of course there would be a lot more I'd like to do

For the hard core wagon owners, car camping is an option. I've only done it once in my other wagon in order to catch a POW day in VT. Though that takes precious cargo space for spare oil and road trip spare parts!

So I voted as available for Memorial Day weekend (5/26-5/29) but that is with a stipulation. I am in CT for the memorial day races at Lime Rock Park in CT (just spectating with family), and thought maybe that could be a fun possible meet up location given the environment and activities. If that doesn't work as a location then I would be a no go for that weekend.

I'm in. No need to convince me. I don't care how many quarts of oil I'll burn getting there. Hudson, MA 5 hours to travel. I'd attend so long as nothing else gets planned before a date is locked down here

That's the plan to go just that part new or find a one in a junk yard. The part fits a lot of newer model subies. We'll see. That'll be a February project for sure

This is very sad to go. I can't justify another car at this point given recent house purchase (I am hemorrhaging money). I'll pass along the ad to a friend that I know has been searching very long for a Manual GT Wagon. Super respectful to his vehicles. If non of use can scoop it up, I try to ensure it finds the right home!

well...I am back where I started. After filling up, I got home and noticed it smelled like fuel. A check through the access panel and yup its leaking again. I was very suspicious about why all the sudden it wasn't leaking just by changing the stack up. I am now thinking that some cracks I noticed in my pump housing are the cause, that or my original theory of tank pressure. Either way, I have a gravel section off my driveway that I park my car so no rush but winter project is replace as much fuel and vacuum line back there as I can. Maybe the fuel pump hanger

the FSM does have torque specs. I forget off the top of my head but its not massive

so to make sure it is clear, I am running the sub under the seat in addition to the dual voice coil HK sub in the rear. The rear trim will need to be trimmed to remove the cubby and open it for the speaker. the trim already has the correct spots for the grill but the grill mounts at the top to the sub mounting bracket with a trim pop thing (no clue what it is called) You might be able to correct the pre-out level of the Alpine to make it work with the HK amp, but not sure.

Day 1. The GT is the first car in the new house! I christened the garage with a small bit of oil, on purpose (see blue rag from clean up). The wife thinks I'm weird but what else is new. I'm excited, there is so much room for activities!!

So i retrofitted the HK into my LGT wagon, and I use the sub under the seat since the HK sub is all the way in the trunk. I repined a second 'floor sub' harness to run to and from the amp under the passenger seat. This way I only had to run wiring from the head unit area to the front doors and through the door connectors to drive the tweeters separately since the HK drives the mids and tweeters separately up front. The amp will need a power line run directly from the battery, but luckily for us subaru already ran that from the engine bay fuse box. It is labeled 'audio' and runs to the connector in the right front foot well near the door harness connection. The wire terminates there and isn't used so you just need to finish the wiring the last foot or so to the amp under the passenger seat. Last (off the top of my head) I advise that you source a HK headunit. I tried one that had the SRS sound thing but the pre-amp in those is too powerful that I would keep volume at like level 1 or 2. With the headunit meant for the HK amp, there is far more fidelity to the volume control.

So I used raptor liner to undercoat my car...I have my regrets. Because it is not a rubberized undercoat, I am not super worried. Also my car was pretty mint underneath plus my car doesn't get driven in the winter anymore. I did also seal seams with 3m window weld to prevent moisture working its way in. My recommendation is this. If your car is already rusty: fluid film or alike if your car is not rusty: CRC Marine heavy duty corrosion inhibitor on exterior parts + seams. Fluid film all cavities
