  1. @KZJonny looks like the 05 headlights will be ready for you, as long as I remember to pack them! Anyone need the front end of an 05 in ABP?
  2. I am sorry to report that this is USDM...My cheap ass way of getting the front to be less "pointy". I need to do a lot more than expected of fussing to get the alignment right. Also a disappointment is the difference in ABP paint between 05 and 09. I would assume the under tray still lines up and same-ish for fender liners. The bumper doesn't sit further back on JDM (my understanding) but rather it is simply just not as fat sticking out
  3. So who is all in the NE area that is going to this and wants to convoy down that Friday? I live near the 495/90 intersection *disclaimer...I cruise at 70mph to not burn too much oil haha
  4. Got it Thanks! Progress on one of my listed tasks! It looks great from 10 feet. The paint difference is way more apparent when on the car than when I held the fenders up to the car, back when I got them. I need to play with alignment cause the hood is tight to close and sits a mil or 2 below fender line. It would have been far too easy if it just simply lined up
  5. KZ Jonny, tonight I plan to swap the front end now that the new headlights are done. Which in turn frees up my old headlights for ya. I added some new butyl and resealed the lens to the back housing Also the current state is following the acetone vapor treatment. Just need to do a ceramic coat to UV protect them. All in all fairly straight forward and easy to fix mess ups.
  6. Haven't done a lot in quite some time. In prep for the east coast meet, I refinished the face lift headlights I have had on hand for 2 years now. 400, 800, 1500, 2000 grit sanding. Then acetone vapor to restore it. Came out great! I will be doing a ceramic coat to protect them. We'll see how these hold up. If they don't last with ceramic coating, (which I plan to apply at least twice a year) then I'll re-sand and go for the default of clear coating them. This is part restoration, part experiment. So far so good. The driver lens came out perfect, while the passenger is ok. Driver is an OE lens while the passenger is TYC so I am assuming that is why. Still will have a great 5 foot look and way better than what it was! Next I need to reseal the lens to the housing, and can finally bolt on the face lift front end!
  7. part of the way to crossing something off my list. I worked on headlights this weekend. Now I need to reseal the housing. I'll put more detail on my build thread since this is the most significant thing I've done to the car in the past year
  8. Ordered stuff needed to do my headlights. I am going to give acetone vapor a try. I plan to drive my car with the face lift front end to the memorial day races at Lime Rock park. Its a great place to show off my car to the maybe 1 person that will walk and appreciate what is pretty much a totally stock car lol
  9. No leaks here...well aside from the oil dripping from the blown intercooler . I have a replacement intercooler but can't bring myself to put a clean one on, with how much oil will go through it. Besides that its all burnt, the bottom of my engine is clean!!!
  10. shoot for the moon, if you miss your car is still a 19 year old hooptie
  11. Did a oil filter change yesterday, no need to change the oil in the pan since that burns at a rate of 1qrt/400 miles so that will get changed out over the course of a few drives! Took it into work today for its first time out from the winter slumber
  12. Thanks for the example. I'll likely go this route instead of painting just given my timeline, and then revisit to clear coat it next winter
  13. I feel the headlight drama. In order to free up my 05 headlights I need to sand and clear coat my post face lift lights. I have the front lens removed right now to get rid of the amber reflector so sanding and painting should be less (slightly) cumbersome. What headlight paint are you using? I was going to use spraymax 3684068 after a lot of sanding
  14. everyone is so productive. I need to get to work. I am still trying to get my garage set up so that I can actually do work efficiently in it. At this rate my goals are quickly being reduced to 1) change the damn oil 2) try and get the face lift install done so I can fulfill a promise to supply headlights @KZJonny who knows...maybe ill drive home with flashlights in place of headlights
  15. So years ago i made an excel sheet inventory of all my items. It was mainly so when i go to junk yards, I don't come home with oops a 4th interior piece of trim when I only need 3, because only normal people would stock pile 3 of that item (just in case). I'll give it a look through to see if there is any particular line item I can 'safely' bring down to a quantity of 2 haha
  16. If i am able to get the post facelift swap done in time, the old headlights will be available to the price of a cold beer...maybe 2
  17. lol. The prior owner did a lot of work. Still needs work but a solid base to start from. In current form worth more in parts than whole but will be super nice when spruced up
  18. I am hoping he can get it ready in time. Last owner had it since 6k miles. Its going to a good home
  19. Welp, I have been storing this old gal for a handful of months after helping a friend in PA buy it back in the fall. Just got shipped off today to its proper owner. The race is on for him to get it ready in time for this meet hahaha (I laugh because these cars are never really ready)
  20. I tagged him a few (hundred) pages back. It is quite the book to read and catch up when I haven't checked on this thread in 2 weeks! As for beverages, Allagash black, I can take a look before that drive down. Might need a reminder. I can also bring some Tree House....it's a cult
  21. I know @Max Capacity was tagged in there first page. No more wagon for him but he still has his spec b. Could easily join the NE convoy if he is free
  22. You can count me as a definite. I'll likely be outside lodging. My grandfather lives about an hour away so this is a perfect trip to also visit him
