  1. lol well depending on how loud you like it, that might be a good thing. I'm already considering getting the muffled version of the nameless tailpipe. It's like $50 more than the deleted one I bought, but this is a bit louder than I was expecting. Youtube vids don't do it justice. I don't want my neighbor to hate me.. yet
  2. Tire shine didn't last too long after heavy rain. I really just needs some 18s Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  3. Not a DIY job this time around, but took it to the trusted shop to do a 60k major interval, exhaust install, and some other tidbits. About 1600 all said and done. - oil, rear diff, brake, and coolant fluids - eBay midpipe with tube resonator and nameless 4in w/muffler delete. Sounds good. A little droany with the NA 2.5i, just means I gotta get the rpms a littler higher [emoji3] - spark plugs - finally got new tire sensors installed (no more dash lights!) - water pump was leaking so had that replaced. Only lasted 60k miles [emoji20] - cleaned my k&n cabin and engine filters when I got home - had the little one 'help' me wash it up. Everything short of clay bar and wax coating. Ain't got time for that lol I've got enough money in this thing now there is probably no way I'm getting rid of it lol commuter till it's demise. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  4. They're 'cool' i guess lol maybe more of an older folk 'kewl' as my dad likes to text me... puzzling they wouldn't just offer the hybrid powertrain in the Ranger. At face value it would seem to be a more cost effective manufacturing approach too, but I'd be curious to read more in depth about its platform/parts. Ford could have easily made some ill advised/short sighted decisions in the past that made that powertrain not easily feasible in the Ranger platform.
  5. Getting my rusted out exhaust replaced on Wed. Debated sticking with oem since it's just a commuters but decided to snag a nameless muffler delete. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  6. Pulled the trigger on a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 TRX 4x4 quad cab. Decided against waiting another 12-18mo for a newer hybrid truck to replace the legacy and went slightly older with higher miles to get my price point. This will allow me to get my wife into something nicer sooner. Still have my legacy as the commuter. Puts a smile on my face. Almost grabbed an 04 dakota sport 5MT but it utility over fun is what I need my truck lol Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  7. All about that V90 right now.. I look at 'em every other day. driving my wife crazy. The leaking exhaust on the Legacy sounds horrible... debating if I don't fix it she'll let me just replace it There were 2 XF Sportbrakes up recently. Def a more rare bird on the road but $$. A few '17-'18 3.6R Outbacks I wouldn't mind scooping up.. just kinda over Subaru's lately tbh. Lifestyle creep also has me leaning towards the EU luxury models
  8. Yeah I'm pretty much just trying to replace with basics but was considering a little extra oomph with a nameless axleback. haven't decided if muffler delete would be too much try hard on my 2.5i currently eyeing: ebay mid and https://shop.namelessperformance.com/axleback-exhaust-2010-2014-legacy-2-5i/ with this work, odds and ends and the 60k major interval coming up at 180 i was doing some shopping around. unfortunately based on KBB instant cash offer of $2400 I doubt I'd get a trade in of anything close to $5k (which is my min to move on). Looks like I'll be dropping another $1500 and driving this thing for another year or 2
  9. I think I narrowed down the exhaust leak location [emoji1787] the hangers are rusted something fierce too.. dunno how it isn't just dragging on the ground at this point lmao looks like new muffler and mid pipe incoming. Also looks like some oils right by the rear diff bushings. Would the oem bushing do that when they're shot, or is that blow back from the rear diff/cv axle and a bigger issue? Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  10. Ugh, so that 4x4 wood block that blew my tire out seems to have continued its destruction as it made its way under the vehicle. Getting a droany exhaust leak sound between 2-3k rpms the last couple of days. Will be taking a peek this weekend but I have a feeling between whatever damage was done and the rust, replacement over repair is going to be the option. Any thought on cheap replacement exhaust? 11. Got the new tires fitted. And kicked myself afterwards because I forgot to send the new tpms ive had in my possession for a year since the current batteries are dead lol tires look meatier. I've gone with Pirellis the last 2 times and they've been great, but these Michelin cross climates had great tirerack praise. Ride is softer and the treads def look more aggressive. On another note, my window "rubber" (felt?) weather seal is flaking. Any replacement options for this? The rubber itself isn't dry rotted or stiff it seems, but there is this attached strip you can kinda see in my photo that is running out of life. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  12. It's been a couple of years since I put in LEDs, but if I recall you do need to pop the liner. I also think I was cursing at myself because I did by removing the fewest amount of fasteners as possible and had difficulties reaching my hand up to insert the bulb into the seating the way its angled.
  13. Thanks. I figured I'd need alignment/balance with new set anyway, but a bummer I need to do it again already because it was just done a few weeks ago with the CV axle, tie rod, ball joint, wheel hub, and knuckle replacement lol with that said, hoping nothing got too wrecked as it was all just replaced. everything short of the calipers at least. Considering upgrading next year so was considering avoiding the new tires and 180k service.. looks like I might just need to go in on the car this fall and eat the cost at trade in for peace of mind now (and the next owner for good karma).
  14. Hit a 4x4 chuck of wood on I66 this morning. Would need new tires next year anyway but still boo. The wheel look okay to y'all? Def a divot but doesn't look tire bead infringing. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  15. I've been on a wagon kick lately. Volvo V60/90 and Jaguar XF sportbrake are sexy. Another reminder of how much I'd love a Levorg. I recently discovered the lowered Outback crowd though and I must say I'm impressed with what some folks have done with them. mostly older gens, so I'd be curious how close I could get the latest gen XT to look like a Levorg via bumper/plastic cladding deletion. The things I think about.. lmao.
  16. Been busy with life, so I broke down and bought a car wash instead of doing it myself
  17. I do like the V60 as well. I guess the debate is.. does size matter or is it what you do with it? those extra few inches could make a big diff. I should also clarify my last comment with the options I listed... those are the ones that jump out at me. Haven't been into VWs or Audis since mid-late 2000s. The Avant is the exception to any rule that exists in any book.
  18. ^ Especially in the US. Wagons just don't get that market appeal, even for well loved cars that are harder to find over time like this one. Coming from someone who digs a nice wagon Actually considering dipping into an older car like this for a wagon.. options today are the $$ Volvo V90, $$$ Jaguar XF Sportbrake, and the $$$$$ Audi RS6 Avant. I'd super saiyan yell in excitement for a Levorg. Good luck if you go forward with a sale.. I'll be lurking for the next year as I decide what I want.
  19. The saga continues.. I was able to get the new axles installed pretty easily. Turns out the knuckles I ordered back in February for this job were both right, passenger side parts -_- Check your boxes folks!!!! lol can't return them, so if anyone needs/wants a right one, lemme know. Also, The CV axles look pretty decent after I removed them.. no boot tears or anything. they have 175k miles, but might work as a quick fix/repair if anyone thinks they are worth not taking to the salvage yard. left knuckle on order and will be here Wed. Will update again when this fiasco is over haha I've got the whole right side assembled though! Only took about 45 min edit: forgot to mention... If you're in the rust belt just order the knuckle You won't need to worry about pulling the ball joint or the pinch bolt snapping (which for fun I tried removing and it snapped). I also was unable to separate the unscrewed wheel hub from the knuckle to retrieve the dust shield sandwiched in between. Rusted together. PB, heat, sledgehammer after I stopped giving a F*ck. Nothing worked. So dust shieldless it is for me, if you really care about those just order new ones lol.
  20. The weekend got a little pricey... - A new Jack and Stands - Moog outer tie rods - Duralast Gold CV Axles - Socket set with the 32mm for the axle nut - Work bench vise to clamp rusty a** parts that need torqued lol These were 5 separate trips, naturally TSC, Advanced Auto, AutoZone, Home Depot, and Lowes, respectively
  21. So I finally got the knuckle separated from everything but done goofed up and put a 1/4 inch slice in the tie rod boot with my pry bar. Do I go ahead and buy a seal kit this evening and finish up or order new rods? Any suggestions on the latter for brand and where to source from quickly? Wife is off for the summer so I can let it sit in the garage for the week if needed. EDIT: advanced auto has 2 moog outer tie rods in stock. Going that route. Not bother with inner.. they seem to be solid yet. Edit2: well.. when I removed the knuckles from the axel spindles I had a fun experience of the right one moving laterally about 6 inches and the left one not moving really at all... i guess this explains the clunking noise on the ride side when turning sharply. Ugh. Looks like I'm essentially redoing the entire wheel wells now lol Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  22. Treated myself to some tools wheel hubs and ball joints on deck for this weekend. Decided to just but they whole knuckle to avoid some pain lol wish I would have bought the steering rack arms while I was at it. Oh well. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  23. Ugh, so envious. I love the Rams. The 2500 too is icing on the cake. I've been researching the Eco Diesels and like what I see in terms of MPG. The new Ford's hybrid with onboard 'generator' is truly unmatched right now IMO. So much versatility, even if I don't like Fords. I'm holding my breath for the Tundra refresh to knock it out of the park. Congrats to you guys on some badass rides.
  24. Topped off the radiator coolant. I know its not in the maintenance interval, but its looking like I should do a flush on it. I also moved the box of front wheel hubs, knuckles, and ball joints from one side of the garage to the other.. lol not mentally ready to commence that work yet.
