  1. I've been so hooked on Asian/Japanese market the last decade, but starting to really check out Domestic vehicles again. The Dodge Charger Scat Pack w/ widebody in F8 green has me drooling. I'm thinking I'll save the luxurious, sophisticated vehicle(s) for my 40s.. lol I still want the thrills.
  2. After about 2 weeks of the car on jack stands in in garage, finally got the parts and time to replace the front calipers. Only the driver side had 1 piston seized, but figured I'd swap in fresh ones with my high miles. Tip: really torque down on the brake line bolts lol weren't tight enough, sprayed fluid everywhere when pumping the pedal. Had to spend some extra time bleeding them. Also, if your lines are older and stiffer like mine, clamps probably won't pinch enough to stop heavy fluid loss and you'll likely need to fill and/or bleed additional fluid. Cheers! 3. Potentially could be the tie rod arms. One of those things where doing 1 at a time is what exposes the culprit. Which is why I just did the entire knuckle, wheel hubs, cv axles, tie rods, and ball joints all in one swoop lol Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  4. Hm. Pretty sure that ain't right lol also, kinda got caught up in troubleshooting mode... how close was I to sending that piston across my garage? Lol Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  5. I'm thinking the caliper pistons are seized/beginning to lock up. Rather than spend an entire day trying to disassemble and rebuild, I'm thinking to just buy full replacements from TRQ: https://www.1aauto.com/subaru-saab-front-driver-and-passenger-side-2-piece-brake-caliper-set/i/1abcs00085?f=1457762&y=2013&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpImTBhCmARIsAKr58cw5sLFouJovSOc2BKrCWLxmsimGjHSgKR3DRU0GHWShipbeep9GCq8aAkYbEALw_wcB LMK if you've had experience with these, or have other leads on replacements or LGT ones sitting around Probably will take this opportunity to spray them red too
  6. I wouldn't describe it as harshly, but there is certainly validity in the disconcerting direction Subaru is going. I think we'll see more and more people not exhibit brand loyalty. I love Subarus and can work on them pretty easily. But am finding myself leaning towards Toyota as they are focusing on the driving experience vs their brand and image selling vehicles. Someone joked before that Subaru will just become a sub-brand of toyota lol not too far off. So if I'm able to wait till next fall and can find one not marked up over MSRP, the GR Corolla is a real possibility for me.
  7. Finally had some time to pull apart the front, driver side caliper and cleaned the slide pins, reapplied brake parts grease, and inspected all the bits in there. A lot of the 'grinding' pedal feel seems to have disappeared, but I'm still noticing some creaking noises from that corner. sigh... I've pretty much replaced everything under there so who knows. next step is to apply more grease into the tie rod bushing as they were pretty flat after install. hopefully that does it.
  8. LOL If I get an outback its either the 3.6r or XT. That thing with a 2.5 is 100% a turd haha *cries at 2.5 Legacy*
  9. Some creaking noises coming from driver side front wheel during 50-75% breaking pressure during slow stops/takeoffs. Thinking caliper slide pins or something. Looks like I'll be doing some work this weekend.
  10. Replaced both headlight bulbs. Haven't driven the car at night probably for a month or 2... wasn't fun finding out they were goners driving home from a Caps game at 11pm -_-. So if you were on 66 or 495 and got blinded by my hi-beam PIAA rally bulbs... my bad.
  11. Curious - If you got your hands on an Outback.. would you go battle wagon or sports wagon? Does having the 3.6R vs XT change what you would do?
  12. Safelite replacement. I believe they classify it as OEM spec, although the one time it had the subaru logo on it so they might source legit ones if they can.
  13. Watched this crack creep across my windshield during my morning commute. I think this is window #4 now, just on the legacy lol Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  14. The Nissan Z is giving me instant classic vibes. I feel like they're going to put the Supra in its place.
  15. hm.. I'm a 2.5i owner that wants MOAR SPEED. but I also like my marriage lol hearing dgoodhue's troubles makes me pause as well. let me reach out to y'all and run some #s.
  16. Once I get some time I'll probably try just popping off pulleys and moving them. I will say, after running an errand yesterday, there wasn't any noise during idle at a stop light a few minutes of driving later, but it would begin again as I would accelerate.
  17. Hey friends, haven't driven over the holiday break for a week and a half but noticed a pulley squeaking when I fired it up yesterday to pull into the garage. What's the best way to diagnose which one? I think its the top right one, but hard to tell definitively when a lot of noises going on. Almost harder to tell the closer I get. Had pulleys and tensioners replaced with the front end assembly interval 60k miles ago but idk what all is included there. I'm also assuming it's a pulley here. Which is why im looking for pointers. 18. If it weren't for so much plastic cladding... i'd love a new outback XT. I saw a fresh looking black one that is lowered making the rounds on insta/reddit. black on black is the only way I could do it. Been itching for a project though so a new block/turbo is actually something i want to do. Since I have my truck, I could even sell the legacy to fund it  I've been practicing my persuasive essay.
  19. Not that I needed it, but thanks for the enablement Been craving that wagon life for a couple years now.. really wish we could that levorg or a 5th gen wagon. If only the import threshold was only 10 years.
  20. Just saw a listing here on the forums from a local for an 06 OBXT 5MT... probably going to check it out when the new year hits. My wish list: MT, wagon, and turbo. Check. Check. And check. Booking the wife a massage now. Already surprised her with earrings for Xmas. What else can I do.... lol Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  21. Family life cramping my interest in the new gen 2022 BRZ. For me the styling fixed my biggest turn off from the previous gen on the front bumper. I thought it was too round/not aggressive enough before, and the new one looks way better IMO. Alas, 2 doors will escape me until my midlife crisis in about 10 years
  22. For me it's just gotta do 1 thing (for now ). But you can bet your arses I'll eventually be cutting out the muffler to let this 5.7 Hemi breathe like it was made to! I'll probably convert to true duals and exit out the back as well. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  23. ^ That's the closest I feel the modern trucks can get to the old school square body feel. somethin' bout single cab, fat tires, on a lower ride height.
