  1. I've been running Barum winters for the last 4 years, no complaints about them at all. Ontario winters can get a bit nasty. That being said, a cheap winter is better than any all season tire on the snow and ice. Stopping distance is the main difference!
  2. the 2007 Canadian Spec B had the blue alcantara, 08-09 has the Black Alcantara. I'd say that interior has been swapped, maybe the previous owner swapped it for a quick cash payment and took the leather off of a car.
  3. I've been running the Quaker State QS14612 that I can get here, I'm 99% sure they are made by purolator, nothing but good things to say about them so far. No failures and no engine problems.
  4. There she is! I'm happy you got it all back in one piece, remember I do have that importer near me who has great prices. Msg me if you're looking for anything specific. I'm at the shop every few weeks
  5. I hit a new speed record today, no hoist with jacks and jackstands on my garage floor. Changed out front struts and front brakes, 1:20. Now if only the struts I didn't pick up from my importer were outback struts my car wouldn't look funny atm... I'll probably go get the rears within the next day or so. Make an outback sedan for the winter!
  6. Yeah, quite true. They actually got rid of emissions testing where I live now, so I'm happy about that. They still do large commercial vehicles though, which is good considering how many large trucks are around. I run a catted exhaust so I'm not all bad. I actually used to do the emissions testing on vehicles, we could see all the values with the snorkel up the tail pipe. It was only $30 to get it done too
  7. Ah damn, found one local in the end. Thanks for the offers!
  8. Awesome thanks! I thought they were from that, but didn't want to assume. Glad I don't need them! Edit: I finally found them in the service manual just now too. Called: Secondary air combination valve
  9. So I'm bringing everything off of my 08 spec b manifold area over to the engine I'm putting together, doing tgv deletes and new inlet/throttle body exc... the usual I was looking in the engine bay for the 08 and realized there is something else that isn't on my other engine (from an 06, so B25 instead of D25 heads) but these are throwing me off, and do I need to bring them over? The question is what the hell are these and do I need them?? I've been digging though the 08 repair manual and can't find them so far within the 6000 odd pages.
  10. Looks like it might be a retention spring for the clutch fork, check on top of the transmission on the drivers side
  11. I've seen the pics on facebook, where it hit I'm amazed you personally didn't take much damage at all!
  12. Amazing thanks so much for posting this! I was trying to figure out how I could add oil and pressurize it through everything before inital startup on the new engine. Depot is on my way home from the office, so I'll be stopping by!
  13. In the end yesterday I did get confirmation that the new seals will seal properly. What I will need to do is, place them into the TGV housing and then bring down the rail and everything on top, once I bolt it down it'll spread the rubber donut out and have it fit properly. Thanks for the help and offers guys!
  14. Hey guys, I've been trying to find these injector seals, apparently they are an older design (from my 08 spec b) but the new seals from subaru don't fit snugly on the injector, the inside diameter is larger so they will not seal around the injector, they have a good 1mm of space all around. Has anyone else run into this problem and if you know of a part number that will have the right fitment. The new seals do not have the lip on them.
  15. Post 49 shows how many were here, but he didn't have the colour breakdown Here's Canada: 265 total cars delivered from 07-09 139 in 2007 78 in 2008 48 in 2009 I didn't have time to do the color breakdown for these ones.
  16. Check your rear bushings, theres a bunch back there
  17. Agreed 110% I was so excited to see a turbo legacy again, but only to be let down when it was only offered with a cvt... BUT WHYYYYY
  18. It's not for the turbo pull, but the whole intake manifold, I'm thinking I may as well just pull the whole wiring harness off with it now, I bought the spec b with a blown engine, I'm moving the whole intake manifold and everything over to the long block I have sitting in my garage to swap on. Then drop in the car and go
  19. Went to pull off the intake manifold off the spec b on saturday, I already have the exhaust off so I started by pulling out the turbo to get it checked. After I had a bitch of a time... and then it got too dark out to work. It's loose and almost ready to pull up. I'm missing a couple things that are holding it down but should have them off soon. Quick question though... How the F do you get the injector shields off? they are completely in the way. I've got all the front and side bolts off of them, but cannot for the life of me get the rears off!
  20. Looking for an OEM hood scoop, SWP preferred but willing to take any colour.
  21. Positive news on the spec b build, since my 05 had a sub 002 accessport and I needed a sub 003, I thought to myself. I wonder if anyone is willing to trade. Someone has to f up and buy the wrong one. Well a couple weeks ago on LoW on FB a guy actually did exactly that, wanted to trade or sell. Tysparks87 called me and told me about it and I messaged the guy right away. We each agreed on a time to ship and I sent my accessport off to the south of Ohio and patiently waited for one to come back to me. We each exchanged tracking numbers and I prayed I didn't get screwed. My faith has been restored in people! I received the accessport I was looking for and he should have his later today. The cost? $20 shipping for each of us, no dealing with people lowballing trying to sell it and then trying to find another one. He's not on the boards here but does know about them. I'm glad people can still be honest in this world!
