  1. until looking back at those older posts, I never knew your car was red. I knew your profile pic wasn't the LGT, but for some reason assumed the LGT was black as well. lol.
  2. FPR. Fuel pressure regulator. so that the fuel pressure's ~43 psi can account for changes in atmospheric or boost pressure. aka, fuel pressure isn't absolute 43 psi, it's relative to manifold pressure. or should be, if tube connected and FPR working.
  3. Could be a "mechanical" problem too. Bad seal with o-rings in the fuel pump assembly (3 joints to seal in there), maybe a "clogged" oem filter housing, etc. Sent from my XT1028
  4. sounds like an OBXT needs to do some DIY work. since we have more clearance to the hood than LGTs EDIT: assuming you haven't removed your body spacers...
  5. Oh, not saying the verticooler is awesome, or works (better than something else), just stating the idea behind it. It is an interesting idea. Sent from my XT1028
  6. The GS unit is NOT designed to fit the LGT or the OBXT. and from what I've heard, it sure doesn't fit the OBXT very well. not to say that any aftermarket TMIC options fit perfectly. It WAS designed to fit the 08+ WRX, and it just happened that the 08+ WRX is similar to what the 05-08 LGT/OBXT is for TMIC placement and attachment. ...but to what I think you were trying to ask, this rotates the core from the nearly flat position of "all" Subaru TMIC's, and puts it in a nearly vertical position, so that the air doesn't have to make 2 nearly 90 degree turns to go thru the TMIC core and cool. so in theory it would get better airflow thru, causing better cooling over an equally sized flat TMIC. science, FTW.
  7. Sounds weird, but i wish the core was smaller (optimized for 350hp-ish). Fantastic idea though. And i like the looks of the splitter. Wonder what real-world fitment is like. Sent from my XT1028
  8. What about the brake mc? Looks to co-exist with the bpv and endtank. Sent from my XT1028
  9. BTW, I've got a p-203uh sitting here with a split ECB just waiting to become a single/double din. can even measure it up and use it to make any sort of 3d printed parts "we'd" like. I lost interest in it cause the stock radio didn't have AUX in. was going to relocate the radio display into the clock location and the CD insert to the glove box, then stick gauges or an 8" tablet in the radio position. don't really have loads of time at the moment though. milestone coming up at work and a baby on the way...
  10. eh, as long as people understand it's not going to be perfect, I think it'd be fine to make it in black and use grey sandable primer to build up the face, sand, then do a topcoat of some sort of silver. or alternatively a little glazing of bondo and then some sanding/topcoat. again, I think the hardest part is the cutting of the ECB and the relocation of the "stock radio". at least for a normal person. I've done it, but it's not the simplest thing by any means. I guess that's up to the buyer to understand what they're getting into. I do like the idea of a single din and a few gauges. makes me wonder if there's room... also, I've got a PDF of what needs to be done to cut a radio/hvac in two and then put it back together so it "works". someone want to host it? or maybe I can attach it here.... also, as discussed before, might be easiest to make a panel that you need to attach to your existing radio face, rather than redoing the entire panel. then just have the buyer cut a specific hole in the middle, glue in the new panel, and then smooth over the interface and the new face of the "radio". i'm starting to think it'd just be easier to NOT 3d print anything...
  11. Fixing the stumble with new regulator, and replacing the whinebro i modified my housing for to try stock and then a dw65c. I might try all combinations to see what happens to the stumble, but all with dw850 injectors. Sent from my XT1028
  12. For whatever reason i thought the flat mesh on the bottom of the assembly was the filter. It's actually just a "rock screen" though. Part number and install of wrx/fxt filter? I assume/hope it's in the engine bay (or at least easy to access). Might do this after fixing/reducing my stumble, but will be hard because i am about to purchase an unmodified housing to replace my modified one, only to modify it again... And doubly hard after spending a few hundred to hopefully fix the stumble. Good thing this is "cheap"! EDIT: FXT/WRX engine bay fuel filter part number - 42072PA010 - $25 (recording here for my own benefit) Sent from my XT1028
  13. I think the issue is the amount of work to modify your current radio/hvac ecb to get everything to work, rather than designing the appropriate panel. You need to have some pretty good solder skills, cut the ecb just right, and then find room for it all in the dash. 300 is an alright deal for plug and play. But as was said above, the project has been discussed and is in the preverbial qeue Sent from my XT1028
  14. or maybe a thread title change (for clarity) is in order
  15. Hmm, do i feel a DIY lgt fpcm upgrade coming on? Is there a rom chip or anything inside where alternate programming could be? Sent from my XT1028
  16. holy cow. I went back a few pages and checked and I purchased the 28397AG000 part from my local parts counter and only paid $35. I guess I should take a 6 pack of beer the next time I go since he doesn't seem to be raping me for parts prices.
  17. You can get a single-ended (tranny side) boot kit for ~30 from the parts counter, couldn't tell ya the part number. Comes with new axle nut, retaining clip, e-ring, both clamps, grease, etc. If the parts kit you end up getting doesn't have the clip, and you are reasonably careful in dissassembly, you shouldn't need a new one. Sent from my XT1028
  18. the reboot kit direct from dealership is only ~$30 dollars (can get it for less online at rockauto or some other supplier). I've also got one Autozone reman axle in my subie too, and the first was fine and was actually a reman Suabru axle (had the three "dents"). the second one I got for the drivers side wasn't a Subaru axle and the boot couldn't handle the high ride height of my OEM height outback and the boot was constantly "buckling" while I drove, making quite the annoying drone at speed. it also wasn't appropriately sized/turned on the bearing surface and literally wouldn't fit into my tranny (without some modification/grinding). THAT is why you gotta pay attention to the reman axles, that and some aren't reman'd well and tend to fail quickly. As per not getting an actual reman Subaru axle, just look at the LONG list of cars that the "same" reman axle is supposed to fit and then wonder if that's really true. and BTW, it's not. and the rebooting is surprisingly simple and easy to do. really. I think it's simpler than getting a new one, and half the cost and don't need to make another trip to return a core or worry about the "quality" of the parts or reman axle. That and the last 4 reman axles I've tried to get at the local autozone haven't been suabaru axles. talk about a waste of trips. I'd forgo taking it back for the core charge and reboot the OEM axle yourself for a future axle breakdown. it's definitely worth it and I wish I had not given autozone my first OEM axle as a core. that was stupid.
  19. Romraider has some cleaned up tunes that run conservative to cover engine-to-engine differences. Stage 1 and 2. Mickeyd i think has a 05 and 08 gt version. At leasts gets delay to zero and probably cleanes up cylinder 4 sacrificing. Could also do an etune with peeps on here. I think 150 for etunes for stage 1. Edit: Lol, see above so. Sent from my XT1028
  20. Yeah, abs. I'll have to see what our shop has now. I know they have much nicer equipment than fdm now. It's actually not even "ours" anymore because we "sold" it and a piece of our campus to a big 3d printing company we partner with. Sent from my XT1028
  21. I could test it if you make it. already cut a 2005 radio face in half, and lost interest in the project due to no AUX input. could finish to test. might want to make a nice spot to screw the old radio to, for simplicity. bottom of the double din location maybe? my initial idea was to move the radio to an alternative location (glovebox? clock?) and use the location for an 8 inch tablet. never happened. in other news, I removed my grill wings to get started in making a grill cover that'd add honeycomb or some other visual feature to the current 08-09 outback grill. am going to keep the chrome surround in place, as well as the center emblem, and just create a cover to add an improved visual appearance. I will add, when I attempted to create a new TMIC duct, I had a hard time with FDM...shrinkage (hard to align mount points...). any way to get around that? make several smaller parts that get epoxied together later? the shrinkage never seems to stay constant...
  22. And then doing the ecb cut-in-half method to keep power going to the controls but be able to move/relocate the radio half of the ecb? Sent from my XT1028
  23. Instead of the tranny cup being a cylinder, it has 3 concave indentations running it's entire length. The cross section is always the same. Sent from my XT1028
  24. NO! the older FXT's are way prettier than the new ones. I will admit that I envy the new ones for their 2.0 DIT Turbo powerplants though (and the grill louvres... ). if only the 2015 OB came in 2.0 DIT XT format (and with the WRX 6 speed...). I like the look of my current OBXT, but would give it up for a 2.0 DIT turbo heart. Just need to wait for a local flatbill to crash his new wrex into something. rear destruction preferred.
  25. Yeah, kiddo here in fall. Too bad i still don't have your time! And i fear for how low the obxt will fall in pack ranking around here. Sent from my XT1028
