yea I actually found out about this by using pandora's "buy Cd amazon" option. It loads the CDs it plays for me in a link and it has listings like "$34 new or as low as $4 used." that kind of thing makes my ears perk up.

oh yea,you can do that with DVDs too. I have a friend that used to do *cough* something like that. of course no one here would ever advocate stealing music software or movies. We are all responsible law abiding individuals. I have no problem with buying used from amazon. Some older titles I can get a whole "like new" condition CD with jewel case for like $3 shipped. Thats a far cry better than $16 new.

well, iirc the seatbelt in the 05 mounts to the seat itself, where the 06s mount to the floor? I'm not 100% sure there. It would be nice to fix it with just a seat swap. TBH I've erally been chewing on the idea of doing a rear fold down seat conversion but I dunno if its even possible. A friend and I were chewing on the idea around christmas. so.. my vote is still for 05.. with the seats fixed.

yea I wasnt aware of both at that time. I just re-checked it and it flags NHTSA as "not tested".. I could have sworn I saw 4/5 on side impact on the car. Oh well....

I used NHTSA data for my car when I purchased it and I dont remember there being any OMFG YOU'RE GONNA DIE DONT BUY THIS coming from them. i would not have bought a car that was not all 4/5 and 5/5s.

you're telling me a 4/5 stars is unsurvivable? About the only thing they changed between the 2 years to fix that star is the seatbelt bolt location and the shape of the seat airbag by a few inches.

right.. whatever.. Actually I boycott all new music sales. I have not bought NEW music since metallica's ridiculous behavior. I dont plan to start. Anything I do buy is generally not on the RIAA license and is USED on amazon or ebay.

Yea.. thats what mine was for really.. but now I have an iphone.. so.. as soon as they get turn by turn on that thing.. I wont need a carputer. dude dont buy metallica.. they brought down napster and started the whole riaa lawsuit mess. I havent bought anything from them since reload. I dont really LIKE anything they've made since reload for that matter. I agree with you my entire music library is about 5gb and shrinking.. I get so sick of some songs that I delete them and I dont really add new ones. CDs are too expensive and I dont buy mp3s.. DRM can go F itself. I sold my 30gb ipod on ebay.Now I have an 8GB iphone and its fine.

yea that too.. how much driving and watching are you doing? Maybe you sit in your car waitin gon something.. for that..I recommend DVDs.

yea.. the way I see it tho flac isn't worth it when 320 mp3s sound almost as good and take up way less space. I would say keep your flac on the in housecomputer and convert them to 320s for the car. your stock lgt stereo isnt that good anyway.

what interface do the new SSDs use? I have come into posession of some laptops.. one may be a suitable donor for a ramen noodle style carputer lol.

whats your bootup time? The fastest I was able to get my carputer booted w/o using anything like nlite was 1 minute from power on to playing music in roadrunner. It had winxp sp2 prof. and I had just disabled services but they were still present. the boot device was a 2.5" HDD.. if I had to do it again I'd try to get SSDD.

+1. RR had a huge community of people making new programs plugins and custom code to suit their own needs, and if it was popular it became part of the official release. I even made skins for it, although they were boring by comparison to most.. they suited my needs and I hope others needs as well.

maybe CF sends a tech to your home to do the install for you?

RR is a pita? I used it when I had my carputer and found it to be rather user friendly and very customizable.

I tried to get the w7 beta but not too hard. There's no reason to worry about it right now.

yea, I guess if its closed source and not skinnable it could be a bit of an inconvenience to have extra useless buttons taking up space.
