  1. This has been some interesting reading. SSpeed seems to agree with SeeeeeYa... http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3277905&postcount=3262
  2. About time! Glad to hear you're back on the road click free and cruise enabled!
  3. Just found this walkthrough. Well done Rick! Wish I'd had this when installing mine although I had help by experienced hands so it went pretty smoothly. Except when I tried to help and installed the rear spring perch upside down. I've got the original Eibach springs on my wagon with a 1/4" "saggy butt" spacer in the rear to accommodate the extra weight of the wagon's rear end. Pics here... On stock wheels. And on 18 X 8 GC05's. Cheers!
  4. Have you tried all the local dealerships? Try http://www.subarugenuineparts.com. It's the online parts sales for Chaplin's in Bellevue. You can order online then ask to pick up at will call to save on the shipping. Cheers! Edit: That is if you're in the Seattle area. Sorry, I saw Washington in your profile and assumed that meant Seattle!
  5. According to Yakima you want the Railgrab. I got my setup before those came out though and I use the EZ Rider. I don't know if the Lowrider will work with the lip that grabs on outside... http://www.sunandski.com/Yakima_Low_Rider_Tower_8000118_p/7750069040118.htm Cheers!
  6. I hope chutrain doesn't mind but I'm adding his video. Only one I've ever seen from this perspective. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gQ6YfKxy_M]YouTube - 2006 Legacy GT Stromung Quad Tip Exhaust[/ame] Cheers!
  7. istealfrombums didn't do a whole lot better with the "stromug" in his video!
  8. If you want your car to handle well S-techs are a horrible choice. If you want it to look slammed they're great. They never were available for wagons. They work fine on wagons though. I've got a set on mine. I did use a 1/4" spacer (aka "saggy butt shims") though as I frequently load it up with gear.
  9. That's correct. The viscous diff's are sealed.
  10. What kind of fluid does your rear diff call for? You've read the manual haven't you? Mine calls for a GL-5 gear oil so this would be fine in there. Cheers!
  11. This is how I understand it... Too much compression damping slows how fast the springs can compress (transmitting the shock into the body of the vehicle). Too little rebound damping allows the the suspension to return to full travel too quickly. I can't seem to wrap my head around how this would make the suspension feel too harsh even though I know it does. Cheers!
  12. OK Alekss, no more Buick or Caddy suggestions. Best of luck!
  13. Sweet! Is your car still in his garage? Maybe we can do a midnight raid and steal it back! I'm sure he could build a beast. I need to get a ride with you sometime. Then again, maybe that would be a bad idea. I'm thinking a mild turbo upgrade would be plenty for me.
  14. DRoc, There have been others that have done the conversion you're thinking about. Check out this thread.... http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/another-5eat-6mt-5mt-swap-questions-05-lgt-thread-132374.html Cheers!
  15. No worries. Just remember your manners in the future. As torinalth has shown, there's really no easy way to diagnose worn out struts with out taking them off the car. If you can afford them the Koni's are a great strut upgrade, even with stock springs. Believe when we tell you that it will feel like a new car. I don't understand the suggestion of torn LCA's. How do they affect ride? They'll make the steering feel loose and sloppy but not make the ride feel stiff. I have to defer to mike/AZP on that one though as I know he has WAY more experience and knowledge on the subject than I do. Honestly though, if you feel like the both an RSX and the LGT suspension is too stiff then I think you need something other than a sports sedan. Like a Buick or 20 year old Caddy.
  16. Sweet! Glad to hear Easy and Citka were able to help! Those guys are awesome! Cheers!
  17. You came looking for suggestions, I gave you one and you shoot it down without even a "Thank you"? Nice. If you're such an expert why'd you ask for opinions? If you want a more compliant ride, go buy a Buick. And, no, sway bar bushings and endlinks will not affect the ride. Unless the endlinks are broken, but then you'd have a more compliant ride.
  18. You could have worn out struts too. Worn struts will cause the springs to just "bounce" rather than slowing their rebound after going over a bump. Cheapest option would be to replace the stock struts. I think they're fairly inexpensive. I just searched on subarugenuineparts.com and found the fronts at $110/corner and $95/corner at the rear ($420 total). Front: Strut, W/o Outback, W/GT, GT Limited Left STRUT CP F LH - W/o gt limited spec b List Price : $149.95 Your Price : $109.76 Rear: Strut, GT, XT, GT, XT Lmtd Back SHOCK ABS CP R List Price : $129.95 Your Price : $95.12 You might be able to find some lightly used ones here in the classifieds too. Cheers!
  19. Update with pictures here... http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3068933&postcount=443
  20. Something's wrong. It should be lower. Take them off and try again.
  21. Took you long enough NSFW! Best of luck! I look forward to reading your, as usual, thorough writeup! Cheers!
  22. Gears should be OK but I've yet to hear from the shop. How much shipped to 98001? Thanks!
