  1. Port Orchard! Elklander, be sure to stop by and say "Hi!" in the PNW discussions! Nice ride! Cheers!
  2. Great stuff mbeadon! Thanks for your efforts. Glad to hear a few of you have been able to get the stereo in the first place. I haven't done anything with the Aux in yet either but would like to. Lookin' forward to those pics as well. Cheers!
  3. The difference between the Impreza Aux kit ($60) and the Legacy Aux kit ($15), besides the obvious pins is the fact that the Impreza kit actually comes with wires to run from the HU to where ever you're trying to locate the aux plug. The Legacy kit ONLY comes with an aux "box" See my pictures earlier in the thread. This is from what I can tell anyway. As for how to hook it up I agree that whomever has done the Impreza kit hasn't explained how and what they did very clearly. I would guess that if you have some electrical expertise you will likely be able to make it work. Good luck and report back! Cheers!
  4. The King of Parts has changed it's name. The above is what they've changed to. I would check for wrecked '07's as I don't think you can get these through the dealerships any longer. If that's changed, then you're in luck. Cheers!
  5. Opie should be able to help. Or you could send Jamie an email at subarugenuineparts.com. She's really quite helpful. Good luck!
  6. OK, I finally got these poppits figured out. The one holding the underside cover up in the front fender well is part # 909140007 and is significantly larger than the philips poppits holding the engine cover/TMIC shroud on (part # 909130051). Cheers!
  7. There's an actual aux in kit that will work? Do you have a part number? Thanks!
  8. Replied to your pm on this but yes this is the correct number. Try it here: http://www.subarugenuineparts.com This is a local (to me) dealerships on line catalog. Cheers!
  9. Prescott, Glad to hear you were able to source one of these HU's and are enjoying the setup. Good to hear the sharing of info here helps with other's enjoyment of their Subie's! Cheers!
  10. What is the difference between these two popits? I'm looking for one of the four that holds the engine cover on. The one ending in 67 costs 3 times the other. I'm also missing one of the clips that holds the underside engine cover up in the front fender well. It's not the philips popit, it looks like you slip a flat head screw driver under the edge to pry it up and off. Thanks!
  11. Did you buy your car used? Just curious because these cars don't come with the Extra-S from the factory. At least that's what I thought I read in the Extra-S thread. Keep us updated though as this stuff sounds good! Cheers!
  12. Do you have an '07 stereo? I think you do according to post #171. If so, go back to the beginning of this thread for directions.
  13. What's the part numbers for the stock '05 GT KYB struts? Just curious how much replacements are going to cost vs. something like Bilstein HD's or Koni's. Thanks! -Ian
  14. Dan, Your link says these work on Impreza's and STi's. Will they work on Leggy's as well? Thanks!
  15. Yeah, yeah, yeah! I kept forgetting my iPod when I drove somewhere. scottybuckeye - You can get one from any dealer. The King of Parts probably has good prices. I got mine from http://www.subarugenuineparts.com as their about a mile away from me here in Washington. Oh yeah, I'm lovin' it! Cheers! -Ian
  16. That's a no go on the FF or RR on the steering wheel controls using the iPod integration unit. It definitely skips ahead and back a track though.
  17. OK, I'll definitely have to give it another try since you've got a sub as does Canon20D.
  18. Hmmm, maybe I'm going to have to give it another try. Do you have the OEM subwoofer? Even if not, what settings do you have the stereo at (bass, mid, treble).
  19. Finally got to doing this mod. I was waiting for the Subaru Bucks to accumulate so I could afford the steering wheel. Very sweet! Works like a charm. We'll see for how long though as I was planning on tapping into the wires on the steering column too but there is ZERO room up there. I got stranded wire too. I tried to twist the ends a bit so it wouldn't splay out too much. Oh well, we'll see how long it lasts. Anyway, I wanted to confirm that the controls work great! Love it. Also, I've got the iPod integration kit hooked up too and can confirm that when using it. The steering wheel controls will allow you to skip to the next track or go back a track. I didn't try holding them down to see if they would FF or Reverse in the current track playing. Cheers! -Ian
  20. Congrats! Glad you're enjoying it. Yeah, it does scroll pretty slowly. So it doesn't show the current song sometimes? Weird.
  21. Greg, Yes. I posted picure's of this part in post #81 of this very thread. Very cool to see that someone has created a connector for it (or one that may work anyway) and the stereo. That was the big hurdle in my mind for getting this to work. I was just going to have a stereo shop make the connection (because I'm a complete electronics noob). Then when the iPod Integration kit came out I ended up selling my aux box as all I wanted to do was be able to connect an iPod. If there is an inexpensive and plug-n-play solution I may end up adding this as well just in case! As for the SRS WOW...I'm not really that impressed. Seems a bit like overkill to me. I've got the OEM subwoofer under my front seat and I've tried the SRS WOW a couple times but just can't seem to get it to my liking. It sends too much bass through the front door speakers for me. I can see that if you don't have a sub how it can be a major improvement though. Cheers! -Ian
  22. Yeah, I noticed those lines too. Oh well, I'll deal with that for the many other functions that come along with it! Glad to hear you got one and are enjoying it! Thanks for the manual too! Cheers! -Ian
  23. I think this may be the case with mine too. Although I didn't notice it being that bad. I set mine on L1 and it seemed fine. I'll have to compare it to when not using the iPod interface as well.
