  1. the power. DO IT NOW ! Flash that bitch (ECU). You need to get used to Too much power all at once is not good for you.
  2. True that. But now it seems you were excited about the AP and broke t3h CD !
  3. Yeah I am happy with my setup and will pay 124 or whatever the discounted price is for Centrafuse - the cheapest edition. I am not big on phones... RR looks unrefined. Will it lock the GPS as sold ...and the iguidance plugin will not be affected ? It is stupid to lock GPS input and leave the music player still working. Moving images (TV, DVD) absolutely YES.
  4. Seb...you can search for a music folder, give the play command to the entire folder - then you can go to my library and save the playlist. Or you can go to Library, folders, and play. I have them organized as folders as well and I find it pretty convenient. The playlists that I made is either based on entire folders or by genre
  5. Yes Seb. it is really easy. Either one of us (BMAC, myself) can turn you into an expert in 2 minutes. Hint: you can even rename them - say instead of GPS you can write GPS NAVI etc. Not to mention change their position and/or link any other button to an external application.
  6. I have not upgraded to the latest release. I will go now to check it.
  7. Not gonna see much. Skilled Fingers Weasel did it. But will post pix.
  8. Wow look what I found: endless customization of iGuidance http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=28166 but still no answer for my problem
  9. To Set the Display Options 1. Tap Menu, Display Opts to open the Display Options screen. 2. Select the desired option(s). 3. Tap OK to accept or Cancel to reject change(s) Map Orientation: Orients the Map screen so that the driving direction is pointing up or North is pointing up. Color Scheme: Sets color scheme to Day or Night mode. Auto setting changes from Day to Night mode automatically at approximately sunrise and sunset. Guidance Screen: Sets the Guidance screen to automatically switch when getting closer to a turn maneuver, or have it appear only when manually selected. That isn"t happening for me. Anyone know anything ?
  10. Seb, that is Centrafuse. I just changed the center graphics. Not a final release...hence no OBD-2 yet. I also need to by a USB DVD ROM. So...lemme explain it one more time. Skilled Weasel ran 2 wires from my battery to the back of the car. One went to (-) and one to (+). Close to the battery, on the (+) line I put the 15 Amp fuse that Carnetix P-1900 demands. From the cig lighter that is at the dashboard (and which got deleted) I ran to the back of the car two wires...a (+) and a (-). They "fuel" an extra fan for my laptop. But from this same (+) line I also spliced another wire which connects with the yellow IGN wire of my Carnetix. Basically I have (+) and (-) from the battery to the power supply unit ALL THE TIME. But when I put the key into ignition and I switch to ACCESSORY (or turn on the engine); "juice" will flow thru the yellow wire and will tell my power source unit to start spitting out 19V; 12V and 5V. I think your issues are with how you set up (in my case by selecting which pins are jumpered and which are not) the PSU. Anyone else running iGuidance 3 ? If I select AUTO (for the day/night skins) it does not switch automatically. What to do ?
  11. Weasel brought in a 12 V line from battery which I wired to (-) and (+) fused 15A and the ACC(IGN) wire is a line from the cig lighter.
  12. I have had no issues with double starts. YET.
  13. i put my shit together. It is phucking workin. 35% of it(navi and music). I have to reposition the PC...and install the TV module (today i just left it out). DVD actually works butif I am to reposition, i will need an external one. And OBD 2. I have to wait on final release of Centrafuse before I twitch my finger on the purchase button. For some reason the auto switch function for the skin in iGuidance is not working. Annoying. I have to do it manually and that is like 5 clicks.
  14. F1 loves Weasels. At your earliest convenience please. I have almost had an aneurism looking at my car today. I want all that shit (wires) gone ...hidden...navi working...and the rear seat back in the car. Maybe cause I could put it to good use...maybe because I find it an eye sore without it. But I want my car back in one piece.
  15. I am afraid of "stiffies". i mean stiffer fish. Really now...how do you do it? Cause I tried and failed.
  16. Das fisk tape vill nicht helfen. Cause you can't push it under that damn carpet.
  17. Well why didn"t you tell me directly that you volunteer to do this job for me bro ? I had to find it out from others :-( What kind of friend are you...Thanks for the offer though. Let me know when. :-)
  18. Guys I will take any hints on how to run the wires to the trunk in my sedan. I tried over the week-end to do it by going straight from the centre console to the trunk but that 90 deg angle is a bitch. Any other ideas ? I have to go to either side to the doorstep and run it over there (peeling the entire carpet forward as much as possible) I imagine. Any other hints or suggestions ? All i was able to do it break that centre pop-it.
  19. BMAC Plug in the USB GPS wherever you plug it usually. Go to my computer - right click - properties - hardware - device manager - ports - select port (gps) (it will be a serial port, even if you connect it via USB) and let's assume it is port#1 - right click - properties - port setting - and now you can 1) change the bits per second 2) under advanced settings you hould put the receive; transmit buffers to max 3) flow control: none vs hardware see if that makes a difference I do not have the gps on my laptop right now but my port bit rate is 9600 and the buffers maxed out with no flow control
  20. BMAC, I am using iG3 myself - both for the CarPC and on a standalone laptop unit - for when i am using the minivan. While I cannot speak for your setup - I do not have trouble with iGuidance being 500 ft behind. On the minivan I have a Sirf Star II unit mounted (usb) and I plug it in the laptop. That one stays on top of the car and it is almost dead on. In the car - well I have a Sirf Star 3 (the BU353) that most of us have. But I have not used that yet, My feeling is that somewhere somehow you do not have the WAAS enabled and/or are not getting a strong enough satellite reception. Are you sporting any tinting on the rear window ? The brand of tints may affect reception. While I admit I have not played with it that much, there must be a way to setup your refresh rate.
  21. When I was running the aftermarket i-way 500c; I had the external antenna mounted behind the 3rd brake light and it was dead on. OEM stuff may incorporate distance measurements and speed sensor inputs from the car to make it more accurate
  22. Lol Clark ! - but he is a Brit living in Canada and active on a mostly US forum. I am Romanian living in US and active in a mostly US forum. See the difference ?
  23. he is an imported foreigner !
