Quiet 3" exhaust? Do they exist?
Code replied to Tehnation's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Have you considered looking for an spt and have the upstream flange changed to 3”? Nice and quiet along with factory fit. I run one with a cobb catted dp and holy headers. The car sounds great and it’s quiet when i want to be. -

You won’t be disappointed. I’ve driven on gas exactly one time since I went flex fuel. I filled up the other day and my local station is on winter blend. Reading 72.4, down from 79.8 at my last fill-up (September) -
@msprank will settle this once and for all

This is purely from memory but I’ve seen that before. Looks like it may be the bracket that keeps the alternator clocked?

Lol. Worried about resale value before it’s even tuned! So very LGT of you. Subscribed for the part-out -

Also, due to delays with the welder, when I first got tuned I used the factory IAT for speed density. JR said it wouldn’t be that big of a deal to relocate it and drive on his tune. -

I don’t follow what you’re saying. Where will you instal the IAT? You want it to be after the IC core and as close to throttle body as possible in order to get the most accurate reading. -

For clarity, my setup is pure speed density, not hybrid. The harness I had built allows me to utilize factory MAF connector that breaks out to a Bosch IAT Sensor, welded into the IC piping just before the throttle body. Then factory MAF input has been repurposed for 0-5v ecu input strictly for logging my wideband O2 sensor in the DP. I think that all makes sense? -

That’s what I did. My MAF connector is tucked up against the firewall and then I extended a custom I wire harness to the IAT sensor and then another to the wide band o2. -
I have a stack of them in my childhood bedroom closet at my parents’ house. Maybe someday I’ll dig them out. Similar to you, this mag really helped shape my taste in cars.

44k. Impressive. Good luck and I’m sure you’ll find plenty of help here with such a fine example of a 4th gen. The wagon folks on this site have a bond like I’ve never experienced on any other forum!

How many miles on it?

Clean. These photos make me want to remove my stanza duckbill.

Thanks and I’m glad you enjoyed the ride/drive. It’s nice to have another forum member drive my car, however brief it was, and give some thoughts/assessments. I’ve never driven any Subaru other than the few that I’ve owned. *DISCLAIMER: it’s probably more like 360whp ish. On the day of the tune and with what settings they use at Six Star Motorsports (tuned by JR), her best run was 375hp//415tq and from there she was dialed back a bit for the sake of longevity.
