  1. I think you did it right. If the car is financed most likely the case of your WRX all you do is exactly what you did. Bring the title to the DMV so a reissue of the title can be made so no leans are in the DMV system. In this case you did everything right as the car as ammcinnis has said it’s looked at like a used car purchase since you are buying the vehicle from an entity. When it’s financed you have already did that step that’s the difference.
  2. For me it was only the 90 day timeframe simply because I don’t drive my Leggy or the Camry in question daily and more like two week spurts for one day or so. To give you an example last time I drove my sixth gen 3.6 was last month. The Camrys unit was the upgraded Denso unit with the bigger screen and it had the same issues as you are describing. Once the Bluetooth connection started to get wonky I just reset the bluetooth on the phone and it was fine. However now you are having the same issue on the Fujitsu unit which tells me it’s a Bluetooth issue to some extent. But before we solely blame the car lol I can say I am having major issues with Apple products as far as my profession with integration. If it gets worse you could always swap the head unit if it’s a pain to keep resetting the Bluetooth.
  3. Let me put it this way. To put a swapped LS2 in a Leggy is possible but it will cost more then the car is worth. Not saying it would not be cool however as that’s a swap I personally have not seen before. I have seen LS7s and 302s in Miatas as well as a buddy did an LA2 swap on his RX8 and that car is quick. I say if you want more power just go find a wrecked GT take the trans and other bits you need for the manual swap and just go with a bigger turbo etc and you will probably make the same power gains if not be in the ballpark of the LS2 swap.
  4. I had the same issue with my Camry when I had it and I had the upgraded Denso unit with the bigger display. It did the same thing on Android as well as my wife’s iPhone in about 90 day intervals. Once the phone was unpaired and paired again the problem was nonexistent for another three months. I really don’t think it’s a head unit issue rather then a Bluetooth issue designed to happen at certain time intervals. Apple can have its issues as we are all aware but in this case if it was an issue it would be more widespread across multiple car brands and we are not seeing that here.
  5. Shitty tires can be dealt with. Plus no need to go out and buy a set of $700 tires if you have a set with full or near full tread right now. As far as the exhaust it could be something with the muffler or something that connects the muffler to the pipe such as a clamp etc.. chances is if it’s a New England car and the salt has gotten to the underside especially the muffler that’s normally the first thing to start rusting. I know when I wash my cars if they have been on plowed roads where I know their has been brine solution along with salt I generally wash the underside really good but a lot of people tend to forget the mufflers and even an auto wash will not get those. As far as the dealer they are just looking for mechanical faults quickly such as codes and this problem may not have been an issue when they looked at the car initially. I would say maybe have someone get into the drivers seat and hit the accelerator pedal while you are underneath the mufflers while the car is in park. Warm the car up first to operational temp and listen for the rattle.
  6. You would be surprised if I put a set of Nanking tires on and told you to drive 500 miles and then put a set of Michelin or Continentals on and told you to drive another 500 miles. Dealers are going to put the cheapest tires on they can especially independent ones. I have had brand new sets of tires be loud as hell. All I can say at this point is take it to a shop and have them put a scope on the wheel bearings and see if that’s the issue. Make an emphasis on the wheel bearings. Since you came from a 16 we know it’s not the CVT making noise at all. Car is not throwing any codes so we know it’s now engine related. The sound is not a heat shield. Only three options left really. A bad wheel bearing or bearings, bad tires, or something in the exhaust. However just gonna throw this out. If the CVT fluid change was done wrong and is underfilled or overfilled could it make this type of noise?
  7. It will increase and decrease. However the temp arrive also plays a huge role. In the summer I just put 34 to 35 in the tires and leave them regardless of where I am going. However doing that is also cold pressure so by the tires are not twenty or so miles down the road that pressure has increased to 37 or 38. Once again a very personal preference as some people like to keep factory pressures and some do not. If It is winter and I know the drive is going over a pass at 7k or above and ice and snow are going to be a factor I leave factory pressure cold and can bank on the better traction. Where it seems to get a bit oddball on pressures is when it gets into the negatives but I generally have zero issues at negative thirty since that’s a time I want lower pressures and a lot of traction due to black ice. But that all being said when you alter the stock tire size in anyway the door sticker becomes a optional guideline.
  8. The main issue with me is I also have to account for altitude issues so generally just go 3 over plus one or two depending on the time of the year. The issue with the DWSs from a personal standpoint is they to me seem to get squishy the bigger you go from stock. That’s where I play around with the psi’s a bit if I know it’s a cornering day and not a 300 mile highway stretch. To give you a comparative some people in this region will run Blizzacks all year for some reason. Not illegal by any means as they are not studded. However they do it for comfort as they may have had an injury that they need the softer ride. Personally I would never run a snow tire all year unless you enjoy paying for tires every 20k or so. But PSIs always are a personal preference. I prefer a bit higher so I can get better fuel economy. However when a storm is coming I generally bring them down to factory cold pressures. Just remember factory pressures are cold so add two to three when the car is warmed up. For us in these cold winter climates it’s a pain in the butt to adjust at this time of the year because of the temperature fluctuations. But at 28 you are losing fuel mileage. But gaining traction. At 28 you could possibly trigger the TPMS light as in the Camry the light would always trigger at about 28.
  9. Miltoney, The tech could be absolutely right as far as the tire theory. Can you please indicate what brand and size tires you have please and what the tread level is as well as that could play a big role if it is in fact tires. 4/32 of tread is a lot more noisy then 10 or 8/32 and I generally replace all of mine at 4/32 because of the loud grumbling and general loudness at this point.I personally have become Uber sensitive to tire noise in my cars in the last ten years or so. Since you are hearing a rumbling sound it could very well be the tires. However I generally hear that noise in the tires at highway speeds or on rougher pavement never at super low speeds at all. As far as the wheel bearing issue on both my 4th gens I thought it was the tires however My mechanic had to listen to the bearings as my issue was more of a binding feel at speed with very minimal noise. This does not seem to be the case in your situation however.
  10. Only saving grace is no codes are popping up on your dash so we know its not engine or Cat related. It could be a damaged muffler lol.. My guess it a leak somewhere. It does not need to have corrosion to have an issue. It could just be something loose.
  11. A Stock Q50S is more in the 5.5 or so range. The Redsport 400 is in the sub 5 range but honestly a JB4 tuner can fix the issue with the S model which I have no issue with. The one thing that really bothered me with the Infiniti was the gas mileage. when the car sucks as much fuel as a V8 it sucks especially with the gas prices right now. And the other thing as you have mentioned is lack of storage space as the back seats do not go down and you just have a passthrough. As far as the 4th gen Leggy looking like a Camry thats funny it does not look like a Camry at all. I think our cars now look more like Camrys especially since the door handles are off a Camry with some other Toyota innovations such as the stitched dash. Since Toyota has a state in Fuji this is what happens. Agreed on the radio to a degree. I think the radio on the Q with the Bose option is OK. I tended to like my JBL setup the best on my 13 Camry XLE. The thing that sucks about the Harman in the Legacy is the lack of any treble or bass it just does it for me but not by much. Now just throwing this out into the air for you. Acura is introducing the new S line. Just a thought. and if I am not mistaken those are Turbo. However I can say if you wait to buy that Q50 until Dec you will get a smoking deal. Its really not unheard of to get Q50's for less then $400 a month and especially if they have miles like the one you have they will be eager to sell the car. As I like to say to each his own as long as you are enjoying it!
  12. The stock Goodyear LS2's are load index 95 or 1521 LBS. Since these are OEM I would run the factory pressures and I would say the same for any tire with the same Load index rating. And thats if any of us are even running that tire. Different speed rating changes the load index. I generally find tire shops inflate tires to three PSI above what the door card says and it works fine. And where I live we have temperature differences sometimes 40 degrees as well. So I generally so the same as you and air up once every few weeks.
  13. What I do is add a PSI for every quarter inch of rubber I go wider. I always have the same low feeling when the tire shops put an extra 3 PSI in from the door card when you get new tires. So generally if they put three extra in which is normally spot on go two above that. However in the snow you don't want that higher pressure lol. And agreed about 1-2 MPG loss is what I normally get with wider tires. But just like yourself it really does not matter to me. They thing I like to do is try to get alternate tire sizes that are closest to the Revolutions of the stock tires. I hate having my speedometer to fast or to slow.
  14. Exactly. I had the same issue. Drove a GT line and loved the car but hated the rest. Drove a GT2 and it was exactly what I wanted. but 50K for a Kia is something I really could not comprehend at all as now you have alot of other cars to choose from. However used off lease they are around 30K here with less they 40K on them. One car I absolutely fell in love with was the Genesis with the five liter engine. Thats one car that surprises you.
  15. The dealer replaced the bearings so you should not be hearing the noise. you said you switched to your snows which would be louder then the all seasons. So its probably just the snow tires making a louder noise which thats what they do. If its any help both my 4th gens both had wheel bearing failures in the 40K range.
  16. Not a fan of KYB at all. Have had more then one blow on me and the only saving grace is that they are easy to get but they are NOT OEM and you will feel stiffer then normal(which some people like) but this is not going to cause any issues at all. Your issue is the rear control arms plain and simple. Your tires are cupping so putting the KYB's on and getting the alignment is a start which you would need to do anyway. However it will show the same issue with the rear being out of Spec a few degrees. So the bottom line is you will probably be in it for another alignment if you need put new rear arms on. Would I take the gamble doing it the way you are? Yes. 85 bucks after the fact is something I could live with. But why not do everything at once and save a little money?
  17. Honestly I would not buy an Infiniti. When buying a car I drive and audit that drive of the car first thing. The tech comes second. I mean whats the point if the car drives like crap but the tech is great? Why not look at Teslas at this point? Just saying a nice Model 3 will set you back just as much. With this car market Infiniti is really not giving any deals right now. 0.9% for 72 is the best you can get. However all that being said you can probably get a better deal since Infiniti are hard to push out the door compared to the competition. I honestly hate the dual screen and love the single screen. However thats a preference. And I really hate the set up the the Lexus GS 350 reminds me of my old Avalon. I really am not trying to harp on Infiniti. But the thing that still pisses me off is that the service was the worse I have ever had from any brand. I can deal with assclowns all day. But having them scoot me away multiple times from looking at the window between the service dept and the waiting room was a huge red flag. I guess my advice is if you like the car by all means lease it or buy it. The power train warranty is really only second to Kias. Just keep in mind Infiniti is a dying brand and you may have to go to a Nissan dealer in the near future to get service. Does it really matter? No. Oh and speaking of Kia reminds me have you driven a Stinger in compare to the Q? Its honesty like night and day. More power as well. The one thing I do love however about the Q is the ability to dampen the suspension from the screen. And I personally thing the Q is very outdated compared to some other cars. The Q60 not so much. But the Stinger is better looking, even the K5 is better looking. But l like so say you are going to drive what you want not what others want. Sorta like wondering sometimes why people buy the cars they do its crazy.
  18. Some days I get crap reception, some days I do not. It could be atmospheric and nothing wrong with the car. However in your case with all your work being done it could be something else..
  19. The main issues for me in ANY turbo car is eventually the turbo will fail so you always have to factor a replacement cost. That being said I think a real mileage number on replacement is from 60-120k possibly more dependent on how hard the car is driven. The pro side to that is by the time the turbo fails you can upgrade. As far as the Ascent every single person I know that has one hates it. They all say the MPG is awful and some of them came from larger SUVs like Tahoe’s and the such. Now the thing is you are really hard pressed these days to,find a midsize sedan that is a non turbo as 7 out of ten midsize sedans have a turbo in them these days.
  20. What you gained in width makes up for the loss in sidewall as far as I am concerned. Some people would complain more about the MPG loss more which I am guessing is about a mile a gallon or so from stock?
  21. Very good place to check while under the car. That would explain the “rumbling” sound at lower speeds. But OP says nothing is happening on the highway. But maybe it’s because the radio is on and the engine is at a constant speed.
  22. If I am not mistake in the 5th gen and 6th gen are 114.5 so coming from your 12 they should fit. However as ammcinnis has pointed out you may have fitment issues. I would go down to a local tire shop and ask them.
  23. Your 17 also had the CVT so if it was that you would probably be very familiar with the noise. My guess is it’s probably a loose trim piece or just a guess here could be a heat shield. But heat shields generally don’t rumble but buzz and get annoying as hell. And they will do what you describe sometimes at lower speeds and then do nothing on the highway. Maybe try getting up under the car and see if anything is loose at all.
  24. If you think 88k is low I have a 2006 SE manual trans in ABP with 46k on it. rarely gets driven. Bought it brand new and they had to get if from another dealer because of the manual trans. Sometimes I think it’s funny that I have a lot of cars and the one I Am in most is a 2006 Civic approaching 200,000 miles. The way I look at it is when my seven year old finally turns 16 she has a nice safe low miles twenty something year old car lol...
  25. Yes it is an interesting story indeed. So I had bought the car used with about 40k and was using it daily for a bot six months or so with zero issues. Now here’s the fun part. For some reason I did not know Subaru decided to put Bilsteins on the 3.0 and not the standard suspension. I found this odd since at the time they were heavily talking about the Spec B and the Bilsteins being a huge difference between the GT and that model besides the of course limited availability(funny thing as I was seeing Spec Bs all over for some reason). So long story short I blew out two Billsteins. Pretty simple fix and replacement right? Nope. So on to the replacement which I had to directly order from Billsten and of course they were on backorder for two months. At that time I was getting sick of the waiting and got a refund and decided to go get a Camry and trade that Subaru(yeah best and most boring car in the world and it was a V6). Needless to say about three months later some kid ran a light and tboned the Camry which they totaled out with 9k on it. I had noticed that the Toyota dealer still had my car and they reduced it so much that it was actually 3k less then they paid me for it. So I just decided to buy it and funny thing as it only has 12 miles on it since I traded it in. I knew about the suspension issue so what I did was just buy stock suspension parts and replace the top hats both from a plain Jane 2.5. And here the car sits rarely driven in my garage. The only remaining issue is the wife calling the car color the. MOST awful color in the world which is the Harvest Gold Metallic. But to put things into perspective I have driven my Honda 26k this year, my 3.6 320 miles, and the 3.0 twenty miles. One thing I will say is that 3.0R saved my life when I was driving it and I think I returned the favor to it and that’s why I bought it back is my excuse. Short story on that is I was coming up to a gradual but bling grade turn in the road and a disabled motorist was In the lane of travel and it was icy and light snow. I applied the brakes but the car started to slide a bit and the computer cut power to the throttle so I could maintain control after swaying about four times. Could have been a bad accident as that turn is very well know for that. But here we sit in 2021!
