  1. As always, fantastic job. Can't wait to see the finished product.
  2. No worries. I'll be building more soon. Thanks so much for everyone's support and kind words. LegacyGT.com is without a doubt, the best enthusiast group of any car group on the internet and you all, the members, make it that way. Thanks so much. John
  3. It's not the military I'm afraid of, it's the potential for violence to move into the neighborhoods as it showed on a couple of places. The neighborhoods around here are putting together their own sort of safety group per neighborhood because it's not if, it's when, and when it does, we had all better be prepared. I don't reveal what I have to anyone locally, (you guys know because I've been asking questions as I'm pretty new to the small things) and I never will, but if anyone thinks this can't pass, you're living in a fantasyland with the Democrats in complete control of everything. They have a direction, they're working hard towards it, and it certainly doesn't give a crap about the USA citizens' well being. It's just going to get worse and that's truly saying something.
  4. The VF39 is pending right now, but the VF52 is stock placement using catless UP and while it can work with the OE DP, it will be fairly restrictive. If you can find a used 5EAT DP from Cobb, Invidia, etc., you'll be much better served. You'll definitely need an AP and a tune. Dave at Cryontune does excellent e-tunes and you can find him in this community easily.
  5. HR 127 Is One of the Worst Gun Control Bills I've Ever Seen and Here's Why Normally, I'd read a bill like this and just smirk because I knew it would have a hard time passing. That's not the case now because the Democrats have control of the House, the Senate, and the white house so they're going for broke. Remember when I said the real goal of universal background checks was to use it as an excuse to create a national gun registry? Well, Sheila Jackson said let's stop playing, we have the house, the senate, and the white house, let's just put it all on the table and just require a registration outright, and that's exactly what HR 127 does. This bill will require you to send a list to the ATF of every make, model, and the serial number of every single gun you own and buy. You'll also have to tell the government where you'll be storing each gun and you'll have three months to do all of this. But here's where it gets really sexy, all that information you just gave to the government, including where you'll be keeping all of your guns, will be accessible to the public. That means criminals will not only know what guns you have, but they'll also know exactly where you keep them. This isn't a registry it's a shopping list for criminals because they know exactly where to go and what to look for when they come and rob you because they'll have a list of all your guns in a PDF file. Understand that there are 400 million guns in this country. The government has to hire people to log all this data. Guess where they're going to get the money to do this. You! in the form of taxes. Congratulations, not only will you be forced to tell criminals exactly where your guns are, you paid to do it as well. This is the 94 crime bill all over again. It's sad, because where do you think they're going to enforce these laws the most if this bill is passed? You think they're going to enforce them in the neighborhoods of the rich and elite? Nah, they're coming to your neighborhood. This bill is pure insanity and the only reason she can get away with it is because the house, the senate, and the white house are being run by one party. I know a lot of you are asking, well what can I do to stop it. The way you stop it is to let your voice be heard. Remember, the people in congress are voted in not appointed, so they only do what they think they can get away with. If you let them know that if they continue with bills like this that they'll lose your vote and enough people call, email or mail letting them know this, trust me, they'll back off. People in congress don't want to lose their seat and if they think voting for something like this will jeopardize their reelection, trust me, they'll stay away from it so If you're watching this video, you need to reach out to your representative and Sheila Jackson Lee to tell them to Drop HR 127 now or they'll pay for it when it comes time for reelection. 6. As always, thanks much for all the kind words. You're the best, hands down. Look in the 2005-2009 FS thread-a couple of brand new items for sale. I think you'll like them.

  8. Here it is folks. As everyone knows, I've done a LOT of turbos for the LGT community and as promised, I'm now building SOME brand new Custom VF52 AND brand new Custom VF39 with all new parts. Brand new Custom VF52 in Stealth Black VF52 SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD and Brand new Custom VF39 in Racing Red VF39 SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD Brand new Inconel turbine/shaft assembly Brand new Forged billet extended tip custom 11 blade compressor wheel-20%+ over stock setup and MUCH quicker spool than stock Complete turbine/shaft/compressor wheel dual plane dynamically balanced Upgraded and modified journal bearings Upgraded and modified thrust plates and bearings Upgraded piston ring oil seals Brand new center bearing support housing Brand new wastegate actuator Brand new exhaust housing Brand new stainless exhaust studs/nuts Brand new VF52 compressor housing and Brand new VF39 compressor housing Brand new coolant pipes and oil drain tube Complete turbo installation instructions and I'm available for questions and advice during installation and break in. Both of these turbos are absolutely complete and ready to install. The pricing on these is set right at $975.00 each shipped and paypal'd to your door in the CONUS. These are identical in output and performance, just 2 different TMIC mounting options. If you've been considering purchasing either a new VF52 or new VF39 from Subaru, you'll spend upwards of $1300.00 and that will get you a completely stock unit with the journal bearings that fail, piston ring seals that don't seal very well, and thrust plates that allow forward and back movement. And that's not to mention a cast 6 by 1/2 6 blade wheel that's heavy and slow to spool. The VF39 (same as VF30, VF43, and VF48) is also an alternative for a lot of TMIC (Grimmspeed, etc.) and can make mounting a lot easier without needing the flange adapter. Think about either of these if you are looking. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for looking and please don't hesitate to PM me. John
  9. That's a rifle? I thought that was the new custom Gearwrench.
  10. Put this^^^^^ in the firearms thread too. They'll all get a kick out of it.
  11. Thanks much for the answers gentlemen. I'm not going to be putting thousands of rounds through either of my Walthers or the Scorpion, but I see both out there for sale (or for delayed sale, as the case may be) but I didn't know what the difference was. It always has seemed to me that brass was what I've always seen and that was the way I was leaning anyways. Great information!
  12. Bear with me guys. I can absolutely build you an excellent turbo but the firearms are a bit new to me, 9mm steel vs. brass casing? Which is best and why? Thanks in advance.
  13. I would bet they all got it at the same time out screwing around doing whatever it is three 60+ year old retired women go do. Probably a question you do NOT want to know the answer to....LOL
  14. Thanks much for the advice. I do have a fully loaded Mossberg Maverick 88 with 9 2 3/4" 00 buck in a small latch on the wall right behind the bedroom door and that will be my first grab if I hear anything. I would have my wife backing me up with the 9mm, whether be Walther or the Scorpion we're looking at picking up this week. I have an advantage that my bedroom is up 5 stairs and straight shot to the entry that would most likely be where a breach would occur, so I'm shooting down, about 30', directly at the door from my bedroom door, and I'm a VERY good shot. Just thinking about the frangible rounds as for that distance, I think they would work well and basically eliminate the chance of a ricochet, but I honestly believe that if someone came in, I would probably just have to rack the SG and that would send them right back out.
  15. What does everyone think of frangible rounds for indoor home defense? Seems like a good option based on what I've read, but you all know a lot more than I do. Please share your thoughts on them. I have a house very close to me and the entryway that someone would break into is about 50' away from the neighbor, so my thinking, and I may be wrong, is that less chance for ricochet and therefore safer for the neighbor's kids if I were to ever have to shoot indoors at that entryway. Opinons?
  16. My wife and I are going to take CCP classes next week. I think it's going to really get crazy out there in the VERY near future and since we have the identical Walther PPQ's (one 4" and one 5"), I think it's a good idea to be able to have them on person. We're also looking at a CZ Scorpion EVO 3 9mm PISTOL with the folding "arm brace" and a good red dot site. Fits my wife perfectly with the "arm brace" against her shoulder and will be a great backup to my friend Mossberg. Plus, with all of them being 9mm, no mistakes on loading.

  18. That particular line will NEVER be out of date as, once again, and forever, is proven in Nil's last post.
  19. 02/03/2006 here. I guess I'm one of the "old" guys
