  1. I talked with Dale via text on Wednesday.
  2. Truly outstanding work. Can't wait to see more progress. Kudos for thinking outside of the box.
  3. Saw this last night in Grand Rapids, MI. 8th time I've seen them. Outstanding!
  4. Wow. Whenever I build larger turbos, someone usually snaps them up. Well, they're here if anyone wants/needs them.
  5. That intercooler will work with a nipple style turbo. I would think twice about selling it if you're going with STi intake.
  6. These are MUCH larger than a VF52 in both turbine and compressor wheel sizes and definitely require a custom tune and preferably on a dyno to make sure all is set as it should be. Better? It depends on what you want out of your car. The VF52 is a very solid upgrade option and you can run it on OE fuel system with a good UP/DP combination and solid tune. VF52 is basically turning your car into an STi for comparison on AWHP. The VF52 is identical to the VF39/43/48 used on STi.
  7. Thanks for the offer but I gave up collection watches about 15 years ago. I need to sell them as they are.
  8. I want to ask you to please go to this website and support these nice folks by purchasing an EXTREMELY cool bandana for your furry friend. Mike is a member of LGT and he and his wife make these with love for all furry friends. Many styles to choose from, excellent quality with velcro closure, made it all different sizes to fit your dog (or cat it they would wear it). Please visit their site at: http://www.brewersbandanas.com and give them support. Believe me, you won't be sorry. I'm Jmp the turbo guy and I approve of this message.
  9. What we have here folks is not one, but TWO 20G's for sale. Both are completely fresh and the RED one is completely brand new. I figured that spring is in the air and perhaps some people wanted to make some BIG AWHP for the spring. Here's the scoop on these two 20G's:: RED 20G This is a completely brand new Custom 20G with a forged billet extended tip custom compressor wheel and all brand new parts. Completely dynamically balanced and with all oiling modifications made as I always do on all my turbos. This exact configuration made 519 AWHP on a built EJ257 with water/meth injection and I drove the car. It was unbelievable. NOTE: WIth this turbo, you'll need to purchase water cooling lines and banjo bolts (14mm x 1.5 banjo bolts) and copper washers and are available on ebay. EXHAUST TURBINE EXDUCER: 49mm COMPRESSOR WHEEL EXDUCER: 70MM BLACK 20G This is a completely refurbished standard 20G with a very aggressive cast aluminum wheel and has the larger exhaust inducer, larger diameter shaft, and larger journal bearings. All oiling modifications are made as I always do on all my turbos. I've seen one identical to this one put out almost 470 AWHP on a local 2006 STi. This turbo comes complete with water cooling lines installed. EXHAUST TURBINE EXDUCER: 59MM COMPRESSOR WHEEL EXDUCER: 68MM Remember that if you are going to use these, they will require fuel system upgrades, UP/DP, a larger TMIC or FMIC, custom tune, and a healthy engine to begin with. Don't try to put this on your 181K stock engine as it will most likely result in disaster. As with all my turbos, complete installation instructions are included but I only recommend these to someone doing their own installation and modifications as these are by no means a standard install. I do NOT recommend these to be put on by a shop UNLESS they have a very strong history of Subaru modifications and can prove it to you. RED 20G $975.00 shipped to your door in CONUS NOW 01/30/2024 @ $900.00 BLACK 20G $925.00 shipped to your door in CONUS NOW 01/30/2024 @ $850.00

  11. I believe we're talking about a metal nipple, correct? You can try a couple of things that work. You can find some thin wall hose and put a piece on the nipple and then slip your hose over it and tighten as a unit. You can wrap it very carefully and neatly with multiple layers of teflon tape and then slip your hose over and tighten it down. You can try slipping metal over it and JB Welding it in place, and sanding it down smooth after it sets up and then putting your hose over it, but if you do this, I suggest doing a couple of coats to make sure it's sealed and won't allow any coolant past.
  12. October 04 here and about 104K on it. Runs great with a Custom one-off roller bearing modified VF40 with a custom 20% larger wheel. No rust but usual lousy Subaru paint in front. Might just wrap it this year.
  13. This thread is to post up reputable Subaru repair shops in your area that YOU would not hesitate to take your car to. This can be very helpful to others who live in your area but don't have any idea as to who to take their cars to. This will be of great service to the entire forums. Give the name of the shop, name of the contact person, address, website if they have one, and phone number. List experiences you've had with them and why you trust them. This will be a good thing for everyone on our forums and will help to maintain membership and grow. SBT already said he would put this in as a STICKY, so wherever you are in the country, post up your shops you trust. Please put in the title the city and state you're recommending. The more information you can put in here, the better for everyone involved. Get posting folks! Thanks much, John Link to sleipnir6's Google Maps with all of the locations loaded. Bookmark this page as he'll be updating the map on post #22
  14. I've had Perrin F/R 25mm swaybars on mine since 2008 and they look pretty much perfect still. Can't speak much to the others although I did have a Cusco lower K brace and it was fairly corroded after just a few years. Replaced it 5 years ago with AVO and that still looks good.
  15. If your AOS return line does freeze up, and I've seen it happen a couple of times, the pressure looks for the path of least resistance and that's your turbo seals. Once that happens, the turbo needs to be rebuilt and you'll generally have a bunch of oil in exhaust. AOS is for race cars in controlled environments. PCV system in good working order is all you need.
  16. Remember Rotella T6 runs extended in HD trucks-sometimes as many as 50K miles, and all of them are turbo engines. They compete with the Mobil Delvac, so it must be something up to snuff, so I personally run it in my own and have had zero issues ever since I started. Also ran it in my N/A 3.7L Mustang too with no issues whatsoever.
  17. Did you put the longer rear studs in? Doesn't look like it in the photo. Don't take the chance. I put 5mm spacers in the rear and it didn't leave enough stud, at least in my opinion, so I swapped them out and all was good. Brakes and car look great.
  18. Going down a hill in gear, it will generally maintain speed or slow down a bit due to engine braking and rpm going down. Going down a hill out of gear, it will generally accelerate because it has no resistance unless a brake caliper or E brake is dragging.
  19. Sorry for such a late response. I just saw this. I bought an STi takeoff for $80.00 and am running on that now. Better and cheaper than aftermarket in my opinion.
  20. I would do that although the step over to the ladder would be a bit hairy. I promise he's wearing a harness and clipped into a cable but years ago on the China Mt. Huashan trail, they only just used a chain as a hand rail to hang onto without being clipped in. Look it up and see what that trail looks like.
  21. The turbo is clocked correctly to fit the TMIC. Don't leave the rag in the hole as I've already repaired a couple that have had that happen. I've also had a couple where they taped off the turbo outlet and then forgot to take the tape off and called me to say the turbo wouldn't boost. Of course, once they found that issue, they were a bit apologetic, and all was well after that.
  22. The "Raccoon" on the grips gave it away as Resident Evil. Nice piece and Happy Birthday to your son.
  23. Trail is El Caminito del Rey in Spain but it's been completely rebuilt with railings and safety measures.
  24. I like people names for dogs. Sam is good. I've had Rikki, Sam, Wilbur, Jessica, Fritz, DJ, Dandy, plus many others.
