  1. I had it done but they pulled tranny, I opted for billet fork and pivot ball was only 100 bucks over oem
  2. Very nice , how was your experience with subie tech ? Sadly ARCFLASH stopped returning my calls shortly after the Cobb emissions changes, told me I needed a standalone or they couldn't tune my car and stopped replying when I inquired about cost . Real shame because I couldn't be happier with the work they did on my transmission and clutch Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  3. Wish you the best with your health, thank you for the help with my car and the unicorn parts. Can only imagine all the goodies on your wagon. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  4. Lots of opinions on the subject , if you want a definitive answer just call your local subie performance shop and run whatever they run. I honestly can't remember what they put in mine when I had my transmission and clutch replaced . What I do remember is it wasn't one of the many suggested in the threads, and the shop built legit race cars so I said ya sure if that's what you guys suggest running I'm good with it. Unless you run something completely wrong I'm sure it's fine or just go with whatever OEM suggests Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  5. If you have that guaranteed VA loan and recession proof job it's probably for the best. These prices are stupid , wont/can't last and the inflation is going to catch up to home loan interest rates in a big way and affect buying power. Good luck Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  6. I have a stage one forget the brand same my tuner uses in his rally car... Will find the receipt later . I went with the single mass WRX flywheel much better feel, also did forged shift fork and pivot balls because it was suggested and only added 150 bucks to the job Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  7. O you just mentioned your tuner said if wanted to re tune had to go stand alone Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  8. Good news , staying tuned for updates and to see if you go stand alone Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  9. I would block it with a short bolt, I bought a 5 pack of resistors, let me know if you need one Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  10. Probably safer that shooting cooked bits of an egt sensor into your turbo, the general consensus seem to be a egt is a bad idea with an open up pipe Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  11. A resistor is a lot cheaper Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  12. If you bring your car taken apart already you won't get a warranty and they will blame your for Evey little thing that goes wrong Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  13. Subarus in general are super picky about how you fill the coolant , might have air in the system, could have been changed by previous owner and not burped/filled properly Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  14. Ahh yes the lovely Cobb drama, this one bit me as well. What stand alone did they recommend ? Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  15. Yes I see them all the time for less than 2k with blown motors , and you really don't want to swap in a used 2.5 turbo as they have a lot of failures. So new short block at least would be a good idea. Not my first choice but a JDM 2.0 turbo is a much and option with a legacy GT and doesn't require all that much work Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  16. This makes me want to LS swap my legacy instead of motor build. All the weird failures I think I would need and entirely brand new everything not just a short block and head job to feel comfortable Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  17. I went with 1/2 spacers make sure you get the longer studs Where did you buy the struts I did the whole project for less than 700 I got my struts and mounts from Amazon at the time , was way cheaper than auto parts store and even rock auto, I did go with all kyb parts though Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  18. Ya they hate doing flex fuel tunes lol, if they have the skills get less resistant when you don't run when they tell it's nearly twice the cost for a tune. I'm unfortunately at about 3500 feet in town and like to Cruse the mountain roads in access of 5k feet Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  19. All the ducting and blower motor, blend doors, anywhere air travels, all the debris removed then a sanitizer or some kind. I'm the wrong person to ask about order or taking the dash apart , I have sold more than one car for cheap due to a bad heater core because taking a dash off just doesn't interest me lol. I hate interior plastics I always break clips That being said it's been done here plenty of times. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  20. How are they getting around the tgv issue.....Cobb issued me a refund for my flex fuel kit today Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  21. If you want to do a swap with this much work would be awesome in a much older legacy or gl wagon, 90's Impreza excetera Legacy GTs are worth very little right now, better approach to getting a running legacy gt and some wrench time would be to buy a gt with a blown motor and a do a rebuild Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  22. Just get the excels , they are factory spec replacements Get KYB front and rear mounts, reuse your boots and front bump stops. Saggy but spacers for the rear while you are in there. I did just what I'm suggesting 177k mile stock springs, ride is great. It's certainly not stiff but way better than the blown ones lol. Also a nice smooth ride and I don't cringe when I see a pot hole, speed bump , or dirt road. Not a hard job at all can rent spring compressor at autozone for free, or just never bring them back and it's only a 50 dollar deposit. You will probably have a little trouble with some bolts here and there. I recommend a can of PB blaster and the 40 dollar harbor freight electric impact Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  23. Ok cool beans , will do that this weekend, mine has all the stage two for the 05 including with Cobb intake and different wastegatate duty cycles Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  24. I got nearly 1k for OEM cats at a recycler. OEM TGVs are going to be worth their weight in gold soon. Can get nice legacy with mods or not that have blown motors for practically nothing , doing an engine swap is another option. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  25. Did a decade in pest control, hantavirus is a very serious thing with mortality rates that blow covid out of the water. It would be your primary concern here and is typically spread by breathing in dust from dried droppings.. A respirator is a good idea , wetting down all surfaces as you clean and a heppa filter vacuum. Nearly none of any parts will be available new, the carpets in particular will be hard to source used. Ozone machine is a good suggestion, complete diasenfecting of the HVAC system will be needed , dash and all interior will need to be removed. . Small hidden damage to wring may not present itself or a problem until way down the road. It's a massive job but most the cost will be labor and time spent sourcing replacements. With the low value of these cars at the moment you could probably invest the same time in parting it out and just buy another Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
