magnusonsubie
My Yakima racks with a bike on top decrease my mpg by 5 gal when I drive between California and WA. When I've done the drive without a bike I've gotten 24-25 but with a bike its 18-19 2005 Vader Wagon Material Tests on Ringland Failure Piston I should have held off and purchased a wagon instead of the spec.B

scottmcphee
I hauled a new dishwasher home in the back of my wagon. Another $70 saved on not paying delivery costs. I figure I have saved in the thousands on using my own wagon for hauling stuff home from the shops and the trailer for landscaping materials.... Just sayin

Rhitter
I want to put a basket on mine but I can't decide on which one. I like the Yakima Loadwarrior, especially since I've already got a Yakima setup, but I feel like it's too tall for our cars. I want something fairly low/sleek that I can keep on my wagon 24/7 without it looking to obnoxious. So I was worried about that and bought a cheap basket off of amazon. I think it would look better if it was longer. I kind of want just a flat basket for carrying lumber etc. Empty http://i.imgur.com/N2iVNIu.jpg?1 Loaded up http://i.imgur.com/AhDLDDH.jpg After using it, I wish I had something with taller side rails. This makes me slightly uncomfortable, but using it with the bag I have never had any issues. My Thule fairing and crossbars don't seem to have much effect around town. I won't see better than 25-26mpg on the highway tho. I might make a trip soon, and I'm prob gonna remove it for comparison. I have never seen better than 25-26mpg regardless of how empty my car is. BoozeRS05
I rode in a 3rd gen outback, in an absolute blizzard with 3-6" of snow already packed on the road, with studded snow tires and it was amazing. blcnghtsky
General Altimax Arctic. Great reviews for the price! I second those winters, have used them for 3 seasons now and they still have deep tread left. Handled traveling during a full on blizzard like a boss last year. xt2005bonbon
I love blizzards . I lived in Norway for two years and used Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 studded tires on the OB. Also amazing but pricey (at least it was in Norway). I still have them and love them.

Is this a picture of a Subaru meet at a uhaul place? There's like four modified Subarus in that pic, not counting the 2nd gen Outback or the LGT sedan. There's no way that's just a natural occurrence. And I don't even know what those white hellas (on the right) are mounted on. Some sort of 70s Buick Skylark with a light bar and no front bumper? Lol, that's HMS (Horizontal Motorsports), a local subie shop. It does so happen to have a U-Haul shop right next door. The last time i has my wagon in for repairs, i felt kinda dumb cause it was by far the least modified car on-site. I've since got TS parts and BBS wheels though, so i feel better. * Build Thread * 26.53 MPG - 12 month Average *
