Zero1
Long overdue for updates. The interior is and will be even more so torn apart again for some changes. That will come after it runs again though... Finally getting under way with the wire tuck and have a fair amount more to go under the hood but have everything laid out exactly how I want it run now. Motor has been back in for a while and collecting dust just like the rest of the car. Pic of the current ish status of the car with a few new items waiting to be or already installed now
Zero1
For those Zero Sports enthusiasts like myself, I thought I'd put together a quick and dirty how-to installation for the V-Earthing and V-Effector kits on a USDM LHD BL BP. In the kit you'll find the voltage stabilizer unit itself that cannot be mounted using both brackets as it is supposed to sit where the brake master cylinder and booster mate up to the firewall. Instead, you'll find a few M6x1.0 threaded holes covered with black factory dot tape on the side of the strut tower. With only using the primary bracket that bolts to the unit itself and not the extension, you can source some stainless steel bolts and washers at your hardware store and mount it up like I have. In order of pictures I'll start with the V-Earthing kit: 1. The largest wire will begin on the right (passenger) side subframe rail earthing point. 2. You'll need to then bolt this to the right side head which I found a spot for under where the factory turbo inlet sits. 3. Notice the alignment of the Zero Sports sleeve here* and this is where it can get tricky. Bottom of the pic is toward the front of the car and this mount needs to be on the short block so I found a spot just under the AC compressor bracket to mount to (will require removal of the bracket to get to). 4. This will need to be on the left (driver) side head so I found a tricky to get to spot which mirrors the location on the other head for #2. Right side of the pic is the front of the car and you can also see a better angle for #3. 5. This one is optional for either the back side of the block or trans (I opted for the back side of the block) and found a location under the throttle inlet hose. Notice the right side of the pic is toward the front of the car and you can see the blue tape on my throttle body. 6. The end of the wire will go to the Voltage Stabilizer unit. Next set is for the V-Effector wires: 7. The 3-point grounding wire will start with the shorter length and mount onto the earthing location for the pitch stop mount to the firewall. 8. This will then lead down to the starter earthing location. 9. Here we can see the long end leading to the negative end of the battery terminal (wire on the left) and the wire on the right leads back to the Voltage Stabilizer (main battery earth off the back side). 10. The last wire will start with earth to the left side subframe rail. 11. Lead up to the starter earthing location (left side of pic is toward front of car). 12. Lastly it will carry over to the Voltage Stabilizer leaving one open earthing location if you want to run accessory earth off of. 1

Kojak
Great thread. Super late to the party, missed this in all my lurking. Op, I have the same set of older gen STI goldies sitting for the last year because I don't even want to unwrap them. They're gorgeous and appear to have never been mounted. However, seeing the pics of them on your identical DGM exterior has proven the color code combo is pure sex. What size were yours and what tires did you like? Keep up the inspiring build! Resbum
A beautiful car. Congrats. I found my 08 spec B back in Sept. As I've spent the winter deciding which way to go with upgrades I decided to stay as oem as possible in respect to it's roots and limited production status. This thread will be an invaluable resource. Thanks. If you don't mind, in the coming few years I might drop you a PM on occasion. Resbum

Zero1
After over eight years, I finally got the car back on the road this past fall just in time to be garaged for the winter. With the weather warmed up and a few last issues worked out, I've really enjoyed driving the car again. It's been an incredible journey and I celebrated 15 years of ownership in January. Build list in first post updated and here are a couple recent pics to enjoy. If you've made it this far, thank you for your support and I hope you've enjoyed following along all these years
DoctorDaveLGT
Just fantastic! You've got so many little detail mods I want to see pic's of them all. I need to add some of those Yperion parts to my list. What kinda of power is she putting down and how's the delivery with the twinscroll?
apalileo
Great work here. I'm only a few months in with my new (to me) spec.B and it's awesome to see these cars still being worked on. I read through this thread backwards and saw where you are, what you've gone through, and where you started. Truly inspiring.
