Please don't go to Pete stop in st Petersburg Florida.. the guy working on my car broke so many parts when doing my clutch, then to top it all off he didn't even tighten the top bolts to the transmission. I went back about 5 times to fix his mistake, then yesterday almost a year later discovered the loose bolts.

He was at least kind enough to offer me beer while he finished up. The dude was drinking, I told him I need to drive.

You could probably argue criminal negligence if he had been drinking and working on vehicles. Someone could have died. That kind of thing should be reported.

Yeah I wish I pushed it more. I shoved my car down their throats to fix. He claimed my exhaust snapped(b.s.) and ripped out my o2 sensor. Then claimed it broke from being rusted(pointed to the ceramic which doesn't rust) he said he will steal one from the junk yard. I went through 3 before they got it fixed. He snapped a bolt in my steering knuckle, then just welded over where the bolt goes. This was a reputable speed shop, he no longer works there from what I hear. It was a nightmare.

He also broke his accelerator pedal clean off as well.

I think that was coolant leaking somewhere else issue... it's in the forum somewhere or maybe even in this thread I don't remember... Artistic license but if the coolant ran out of the turbo like that would have to have a good crack in the housing so it would come under the 'don't beat the hell out of your turbo maintenance' heading.

There isn't any maintenance to prevent a random failure. That bearing and coolant seal probably was leaking. You should just check your turbo coolant reservoir and radiator for signs of oil every once in a while. On these cars, a turbo seal leaking is more probable than a head gasket failure.

Use a blow torch to cut through exhaust studs. This car went to joe blows shop to have a converter put on and they set the car on fire.

Actually this is what happens to you when you are sentenced to driving a Dodge Calier for any length of time.

That guy has been through 3 accel pedals in the last 18 months. He was pissed about it until he found out that he is the only person who has ever broken one (3) in our area since the caliber has been out.
