specialB
OK after reading through all this i think i know how to attack my setup. Unfortunately my legacy is my one and only (minus my 86 jag) which only gets used on the weekends if that. So i rely on the legacy to get to work, to get to the slopes, and getty me around the track/scca course maybe five times a season. Currently running swifts on my 99,000 mile original bilsteins. The Swifts are fantastic in the twisties thanks to F&R sways with endlinks. However, they still squat way too much for my liking accelerating and braking. Got me a set of used Megan racing coils as an entry level coil over to see how i like them. In the meantime I'm going to take my swifts and work on getting HD bilsteins. Once I'm sick of the ride and/or the megans blow up I'll sadly part with the awesome low look with one finger of gap and bring her back up slightly and have a perfect all around all year car that's halfway decent at track events. That is until i get a dedicated track car which may be this 95 del sol my grandpa's been trying to give me for years, just need the time and money to make it an MR setup
urfsin
What about Forrester XT Pinks? Those would be longer than the LGT ones and they might work for the Outback quite nice. Slide It Sideways
ssbtech
I'm going a bit crosseyed here so I need a second set of un-crossed eyes. Based on Unclematt's suggestion and chart here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/faq-jdm-oem-suspension-61108.html I'm guessing that I'd be best with the GT Wagon Auto springs here: http://shop.edoperformance.com/sti-pink-springs-frontrear-legacy-p-9385.html Front: ST-2033021000 Rear: ST-2038021010 Based on the chart earlier in this thread (Here) The front appears to be for the GT Wagon (Auto) as well as the 3.0R Wagon and also the 2.0GT Sedan (Auto). The rear looks to be for the 2.0GT Wagon (MT) as well as the 2.0GT Wagon (AT) The heavier 3.0R Wagon (MT&AT) uses springs with a P/N ending in 1020. Knowing that I'm in a Outback XT MT, I guess the question is should I be looking for 3.0R AT wagon springs (ending in 21000 and 21020) OR the 2.0GT Wagon (AT) springs (ending in 21000 and 21010) I'm surprised that the 3.0R wagon uses the same springs as the lighter 2.0GT. Holy crap I need more coffee
ssbtech
I've ordered the Bilsteins. I'm a little concerned reading some reviews of them being a little on the harsh side, but it's a gamble I'm willing to take. A quick chat with Edo Performance revealed that these are the so called "JDM GT Wagon Pinks": http://shop.edoperformance.com/sti-pink-springs-frontrear-legacy-p-9385.html Rear: ST-2038021010 Front: ST-2033021000 4-8 weeks from Japan Wasn't planning on that Any input? ssbtech
The Billies arrived! I need to resolve a pricing issue with the vendor however. It was split into two boxes and the value of the whole order was displayed on each package. I got charged sales taxes twice...
Sideways the Seven
Very nice. Are they really worth the extra $$ over Konis? I'm going to be upgrading soon. ssbtech
No clue. I didn't feel like sourcing a set of donor LGT struts to hack up and stick the Konis into.

natoli4
all I can say about Bil's vs Koni is that Koni's are adjustable and that to me is worth it...finding a donor can be an issue but it's just the front's that you are looking for.

ssbtech
Oh much suckage. It's ok, CBSA has a form to claim a refund. $120 in taxes for the whole order, I got charged $240... Now I'm told that I don't need SpecB upper spring perches and that I can re-use my stock Outback perches. I've noticed that the SpecB tophat sits up on the shaft a little with the Outback spring perch. Does the Spec B perch have a larger opening for the strut shaft? AZP Installs
The other issue is that all struts sold on the mass market are not matched sets. With the Konis you can fine tune them to get them closer to matching which is nice. -Mike Paisan AZP's First Private Track Event, June 19 at NJMP Thunderbolt $315 including Classroom and Mentor! http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts.
