I Donated Too sigmafour Posted July 31, 2012 Author I Donated Too Share Posted July 31, 2012 Shame, those are OZ wheels. NFG. I hear they are very bad and poorly made and attract spinning abrasive power tools directly to their surface even in the hands of some of the worlds leading expertise in wheel repair. dtmenace
... I would ABSOLUTELY GIVE THEM ANOTHER SHOT! .....FIRST CHANCE... 2nd chance: I was waiting the details Ian. Like Ian, I had had a couple bbs wheels 'fixed' by these goons. I too received my wheels back straight yet with a huge rash on the center ad inside lip. I was told that they 'forgot' to wipe down the machine before setting my on it. Needless to say they still took my $75 and have me an 'I don't really give a shit about you' shrug. As Ian had said, it is truly amazing how their parking lot is littered with Benz, jaguar, landrover etc. and they are many dealerships licensed wheel repair facility. Apparently they just don't care about the individual costumer. Rim pro in Tewksbury will continue to be my go to place. More expensive, but who gives a shit if the job is done right. nice FAIL
RuskiTrombone
Somehow I think Spring Theory can be tied to OZ wheel performance on pothole streets of Boston.

9mm
thanks for the heads up. Â i've never heard of them and they are about 15min for where i live. ROFL. gee, i wonder why? /\__/\ (='.'=) This is Cat. I Donated Too sigmafour Posted August 1, 2012 Author I Donated Too Share Posted August 1, 2012 you'd be better off on square wheels if they were the only game in town but I trust Firepuma's recommendation on Rim pro in Tewksbury as an alternative... if you're ever unfortunate enough to need that kind of help, now you know. dtmenace
My experience was quite different. I have nothing but the best to say about the employees and the quality of the workmanship. I have sent several friends and family members to this company and they all feel the same way. They all had great experiences. One thing that I did notice about your wheels is that I once had the OZ wheels as well. The quality of those wheels were horrible and had to replace them often because the pot holes would break the wheels constantly. I think it was the poor quality of your wheels and NOT the poor quality of the workers. I would ABSOLUTELY GIVE THEM ANOTHER SHOT! sounds legit! LegaLude
This whole thing sucks man, im sorry. I've had problems like this when it's come to insurance repairs at dealerships... I was just looking into getting a couple wheels repaired too and this has me on alert now :/
JFB
What a despicable company, and to think I'd thought of checking em out several times on my way to work in the morning. I can't believe people like that think they'll just sign up for a forum and nobody will notice that their first and only post is in defense of their company. They MIGHT have even pulled it off if they'd been a little more reserved about the whole thing, but the gushing and inclusion of family members pushed it over the top... Sorry this happened to you, but I'm sure glad you posted about your experience before I made the mistake of walking through their door. Tewksbury is closer to me anyhow! One thing I can't figure is how they found this thread... I couldn't get it to come up on Google without highly targeted searching. mattg
Sorry for your horrible experience. Seems like that shop employs some low paid hacks that don't know what they are doing. The "repaired" wheels are now completely ruined. I would also like to throw a lol to porschechick and a lol WTF to Tide.

Ellesedil
They have three reviews on Google. On a scale of 0-3, all three reviews are 0. https://plus.google.com/100135697031761932961/about?hl=en  They do have one review on yellowpages.com and it has a score of 5/5. Something about a S550 getting curb rash that was restored to perfect condition on the same day back in 2010. I'm not sure if their level service was better in 2010, that the wheels were for a Mercedes instead of a lowly Subaru, or that yellowpages.com doesn't allow pink font, but that's the only positive review I've seen on a third-party website. I Donated Too sigmafour Posted August 1, 2012 Author I Donated Too Share Posted August 1, 2012 there are also two unanswered complaints on BBB I later found - one is hidden and one you can read. This all shows you need to really do your homework. It's tough though, it takes time and the right kind of search to get things to come up... Like JFB said and LegaLude mentioned, search one way nothing, search another and the goods come up, it's sort of a crapshoot but more SEO will help. I am sure there are people who did have good experiences at The Wheel Repair Specialists in Massachusetts but it would seem overall they do not provide good experiences. Wheel Repair in Northshore MA is what they claim to do but not Wheel Repair in Peabody MA very well with apparently terrible service.
LegaLude
BBB wouldn't do anything anyway. The shop would only be obligated to "repair" the product again. But lets be honest, you don't want to go back. I went through BBB when I had my transmission rebuilt for the prelude and found that, while R synched fine, 2nd and 3rd had issues in cold start up. And my brake reservoir cap was loosened. Absolutely no explanation on their part for this. BBB felt it was adequate that the shop offered to "look at it again", but I refused, for my own safety, to not let them touch my car.
StoplightAssassin
The BBB is pretty worthless. They have no actual power. They are a privately run franchise. You have to contact your state's general attorney.
I Donated Too sigmafour Posted August 1, 2012 Author I Donated Too Share Posted August 1, 2012 I am very impressed by all you awesome people! Positive comments and support - I am thrilled at Pinkie for waking this thread up for a second go around, talk about open mouth and insert foot! This thread had drifted away and would have been forgotten but now so many more of you have an actual visual of just what these Wheel Repair people are like. LegGTLT
IP Check for what exactly. Someone had a good experience, someone had a bad experience, why is this even a show? Poster has been vetted. Tide, I love you, you know I do... but how in God's/Moses'/Whoever's name do you claim a pink posting unintelligible user with that kind of timing and comment is vetted? JFB
I got it to come up with the name and address of the shop Read highly targeted. Not too many people are going to look for a new wheel repair place they haven't ever been to using the exact name and address, they'd search for something like "Rim Repair" or if they had a referral, the name of the company. Just thinking this guy was awfully worried about a set of keywords that would rarely get used generating bad PR for him.
I Donated Too sigmafour Posted August 4, 2012 Author I Donated Too Share Posted August 4, 2012 Great point JFB. Sweet. So now we have the words Rim Repair for google to find, would it be better to say Rim Repair Boston or maybe rim repair Peabody route 1 or something like that? People would find this story of how bad in my opinion the wheel repair specialists in Peabody route 1 really are for service when they search for rim repair and a bit of a location?
