Perscitus
You can always purchase a custom grill.I'm hoping now that the grill frame shape, bumper, etc. are the same between USDM and JDM, we'll finally have some nice JDM accessories that fit the USDM 5th-gen... like a decent grill. Come on 2013+ Subaru of Japan accessories and aftermarket parts.

Come on 2013+ Subaru of Japan accessories and aftermarket parts. Yeah, I also wanna see this one happen. Would be a nice alternative for the 2010-2012 owners, assuming there wouldn't be too much trouble retrofitting.
DrD123
More info up on the cars101 site, including prices (looks like everything is up $300 or so) - interestingly, there doesn't appear to be an appearance package for the Legacy (only the Outback) with the directionals in the mirrors, memory seats, etc. The shark-fin antenna is body colored now on the Legacy, but apparently not on the Outback. wonder if you can buy them pre-painted... Perscitus
Thx for the update. Just what we need on our 2010/11/12s, color-code and splice in the turn signals and they'd be perfect: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/outback/outback13-mirror7.jpg http://www.cars101.com/subaru/outback/outback13-mirror6.jpg http://www.cars101.com/subaru/outback/outback13-vent5.jpg

exbagboy
Grille and hood are still different slightly. At the top where they connect. Perscitus
That sux. No JDM aftermarket or OEM sport grill love for us then. No daytime running LEDs, no 2.5 Turbo, no 2.0 Turbo. Can it get any better SoA?
DrD123
The grille and headlights look identical, and the LED running lights are an option/accessory, not standard. Doesn't look like they get the 3.6 over there...

famaya26
This site made me hate the new Legacy design. I was iffy about it when I first saw it, I joined this site and realized it wasn't just me that didn't like the new design vs the 07-09 Legacy. WraithAkaMrak
More info up on the cars101 site, including prices (looks like everything is up $300 or so) One thing I noticed - I'm looking at the 2.5i Limited, same applies to 3.6R Limited - If you get the Moonroof package ($995), it comes with an auto-dimming homelink mirror with backup camera, but loses the compass normally on the auto-dimming mirrors. 3.3" backup display integrated into the mirror. And my two nearest dealers both now show 1 2013 Legacy in transit.

Jesus Christ how much bigger are side mirrors going to get? those mirrors on the outback look hideous, what ever happened to sleekness? those look tacked on. That sux. No JDM aftermarket or OEM sport grill love for us then. No daytime running LEDs, no 2.5 Turbo, no 2.0 Turbo. Can it get any better SoA? Who knows what their strategy is,but hopefully the GT and Spec B will return,in the future hopefully.
NutBucket
So I'm not crazy. I saw another photo and noticed the moonroof appears to be much smaller for the Outback now. THAT sucks IMHO. That huge hole was a nice feature.

naimouasta
JDMhttp://www.subaru.jp/legacy/dit/gallery/images/pict01_01.jpg USDM http://stwot.motortrend.com/files/2012/03/2013-Subaru-Legacy-front-three-quarter-623x389.jpg why do the jdm legacy's look better? because it doesn't have the stupidly sized fender flares so the front end flows better with it vs. our USDM model. NutBucket
It always been the same size for the current generation (2010+) Thanks. I guess I haven't noticed even though I've sat in a few. It still stinks
DrD123
why do the jdm legacy's look better? because it doesn't have the stupidly sized fender flares so the front end flows better with it vs. our USDM model.yeah - because what looks better isn't subjective at all.... Many have complained that the side is too flat, but I'll be honest -this is the first time I've seen someone say they want it flatter! It looks like the hood is flatter on the JDM version, too (the contours on either side of the hood) The only thing which I am really not a fan of is the large winglet things which stick out below the foglights - on the 10-12, they aren't too bad, but for some reason they really accentuated them on the 13. I suppose they'd grow on me if I were to buy one, but side by side, I prefer the less pronounced version on the pre-13.
ehsnils
To me it looks more like a matter of visual perspective and reflections accentuated in the different pics. But if I was given a choice I would select the flat sides and not having the fender flares.
faded-a-fool
I like the headlights of the outgoing 5th gen better. The 2013's headlights look too busy.
