LegacyDan
i wonder could it handle 436whp! Has anyone actually compared the fms and turboxs cores? is the turboxs one US made and FMS is chinese?
thisisthenewsic
i believe the fms is a product made over seas. i havent compared them next to each other. and have no experience with the turbo xs for our cars. the turbo xs looks like a nice kit, but im happy i saved 300-400$ when the fms holds up great. G5892
Im also interested in the differences between the cores. Sometimes Ive thought about switching cores.

LegacyDan
so most recent prices sees the FMS coming in at $900 shipped and Turboxs coming in at $1050 shipped to Ireland. pretty much a no brainer which one to go for at those prices, might see if i can get the turboxs even cheaper! thisisthenewsic
Ouch. 250$+ to ship to Ireland. Seems outrageous to me. Who did u check with on those prices??? And yeah for 150$ more id buy turbo xs too
LegacyDan
Checked with ajw/IPR/BMS/infamous Shipping is what makes modding my legacy so expensive! I think ill buy something German next time!
LegacyDan
Do you need to use the stock throttle body hose with these kits or do you use a silicone coupler that comes with the kit?
G5892
The stock hose worked just fine for me. I used a t-bolt on the part that connects to the IC pipe. The regular clap blew off the first time.
robitrice
stock works fine just make sure you have the pipe in there good, i had a boost leak in that spot
LegacyDan
so i have been dedicating this weekend to installing my fmic, lots of little differences with the jdm layout that is slowing me down. 90% there with just the bumper to put back on( mostly already trimmed from previous fmic attempt!) there is no where on the jdm ej20 to mount the replacement overflow bottle, does it have to be mounted at the same height as stock or it doesnt really matter and i can mount it where ever i have space? G5892
I dont think it matters, as long as its all hooked up correctly. I used part of a bracket that I had from a SPT intake, and I was able to mount it in basically the same spot.
HAMMER DOWN
It don't matter, depends on the size & shape of your overflow tank. I put mine where the TMIC was. Others use the RH frame rail & just blow the oil dipstick. OEM tank was not reused in these locations. Mike Mileage:331487 Retired/Sold
LegacyDan
ok so once the stock hose can reach the bottom of the turboxs overflow tank. this is the only spot i could make it fit today, it sits about an inch or two higher than the stock overflow bottle, will that be a problem? http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/desperatedano/IMG_20121209_191426.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/desperatedano/IMG_20121209_191442.jpg
HAMMER DOWN
It will work. If you like it lower. Could you mount it like in post 64 of this thread. http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3604175&postcount=64 Or bend you bracket & use the hole just below the oil dipstick in your pic.
