SpecBamf41
they would have to be over size each way. over and over, the block is bad BNR18g on 93oct
subikid90
Like the mains are oversize? Have it line honed, they can make it perfect to the clearances you specify. I paid $175 to have my 22T hind honed, measured and blueprinted. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
SpecBamf41
but you cant add metal to get the clearence to were it needs to be. i have 09 ej257 case halves in the mail with only 300 miles. i swear if someone managed to **** up a near new engine ill be Most pissed BNR18g on 93oct
subikid90
When they line hone a Subaru block they take a few thousands off of the inside mating surfaces of the block then do the line hone on the mains. This will fix the issue of having clearances that are too large like you do. Looks like you solved the issue with a new case though. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap

SpecBamf41
My mains look like this! Each one. A little loose for mains? What do you think The thrust bearing has a wee bit tighter but that's not a problem. I think its on purpose. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/11/20/guqedy2u.jpg I also got this sexy pic http://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/11/20/esy7yvub.jpg Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2 BNR18g on 93oct

SpecBamf41
got a bunch of small fitment question im gonna toss out. do the water crossover pipes interchange from say a 97 lgt to a wrx case halves? what about water pumps, i got a like new one with the other early 2000 ej251 case. and im not to concerned about timing covers but i should be able to use the stock 97 covers right? 96 heads, 09 shortblock? subikid90
Cross over pipe should match the intake manifold, but they all interchange on the block.
