DOHCEJ22E1
Would you consider selling your exhaust? As well, yeah im struggling to get my pedal stiffer...its waaaayyyy to soft right now. Im looking at a wrx suspension for it, then sway bars. I've had my exhaust for just about a year now & it's been nicely scratched by driveways, rocks, etc. As for getting the brake pedal stiff, stainless steel lines, aftermarket discs & pads, & fresh fluids ought to help. There is that new master cylinder brace that I'm going to try out. nice car kenny glad to see its up and runing now! Hey Ryan! It's been a while! Glad you could finally make it here. This site is a vault of knowledge, especially for the 4th Gens! She's been running since August & pretty smooth too. I DID run into a few issues here & there but that's what happens when you start building Frankensteins!
Kiyo1990
Stupid question, but is there a prefabricated brace? And looking into all that after winter. Researching lateral links and all that for rear end. I wanna save up and buy it all and swap it in at one time. And he'll that doesn't bother me, no one looks under my car haha How are you liking the frank build man? Looking into all this buy no one has opinions on it

It costs something like $120. It's supposedly one of the best things you can do to the brake system. I'm also researching the lateral link system. As for this frankenstein, it is "the road less traveled", if you will. The oddball. When it comes to EJ hybrids because people prefer power as cheap as they can get it, like the SOHC 25D frankenstein (high compression & yields GOOD usable low-end unlike my engine, which focuses on midrange pull like the EJ25D). Simply put, my DOHC EJ22E is the opposite of the SOHC EJ25D, as it is a lowered compression engine that is really only supposed to be built for turbocharging but it's compression ratio is good for N/A (9.5:1), which is what I'm using it for since I can't afford a turbo build at the moment. Personally, I like it. 35mpg constantly. Nice midrange pull. Smooth operation. A little more power than an EJ22E. This car would be more fun with brake & suspension mods, & a 5 speed swap... Haha! And our cars share a LOT in common with the GC & GD Imprezas but coilovers are available for our cars & fit directly. Trust, our cars have a LOT of potential for brake & suspension mods, which will make the car respond better to what you throw at it overall. DOHCEJ22E1
The car has reached 170K & the EJ22 at 105K+. It hasn't given me any serious issues since I installed the new hybrid & has been a complete sweetheart to me. If or when I get rid of this car, I will really miss it but that won't be for a long while. Still gotta' modify it quite a bit before that point! Power comes on smoothly & the engine never feels overwhelmed or stressed out when accelerating or passing someone.
spooln30
How close is that header to the oil filter? Do you got any better pics with more light of that area? I'm looking into getting a header for my 99 LGT and I've seen two different designs. I don't want to heat the oil more than it already runs. Thx for any help you can swing my way. Wiclipse95
The aftermarket headers do run closer to the oil filter buth there is about a 7 inch gap between them and when you wrap your headers it won't effect it at all.

They run close but heat wrap them & there will not be any heating issues. I don't really have any oil heating issues now but I will wrap my headers in a short while to prevent something like that from taking place. DOHCEJ22E1
6k miles on the "EJ22D". Both the MAF sensor & one of the vaccum solenoids are on their way out & they'll be replaced as soon as possible. Engine runs smooth otherwise & still gets above 34mpg on the highway & peaks out at about 36mpg when I have a light foot & mosey about. City mileage ranges between 25-29. So far, so good. Just contemplating on whether I should get a wingless trunk or not.
Kiyo1990
I personally like the LGT with wings on it. I think I get about 35 combined...but ill have to start keeping track of ity

It will spray out very jelly-like. It has to be at 60-70 degrees.

Though tints might bring out the white even more I may actually go for it since people have been suggesting it because of the white color.
987687
Tint is really nice from a practical standpoint, too. On really hot days it helps keep a lot of the sunlight out of your car, it's like your car wearing sunglasses.
