t1m0007
Hey all, Stupid question, but its my first time having a "newer" car. Ive got about 21k on the Leggy (2.5i). How often should i be changing the oil? I got it from dealer just above 19K miles so im round that 3K mile mark that ive known so well from having 10 year old hondas my whole life. Any suggestions? Thanks Tim

AZP Installs
Depending on what oil you use will determine what interval you should use. We service a lot of subies over the years. We found that the following works well for a 2.5i (non turbo car). Amsoil w/Amsoil Extended Life Oil Filter- 7-11k miles, make sure to check every 1k miles and top off as necessary.Motul Synthetic w/Subaru Filter 5-7k milesRotella T6 Synthetic w/Subaru Filter 5-7k milesMobil 5000 Clean w/Subaru Filter 3-4k miles -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpgAIM: AZP Installs | E-mail: paisan@azpinstalls.com | 725 Fairfield Ave | Kenilworth, NJ 07033 | T-1 Certified Amsoil Dealer "Race Tested, Enthusiast Approved!" AZP Installs
hilarious. thanks mike. Here is a followup of the Motul 5w30 w/Amsoil Filter on my 2011 STi. I had the oil diagnosed at Blacstone Labs and posted it up on our website. This oil was changed at 1000 miles on the odo and had 8000 when I changed it out. http://azpinstalls.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=99&Itemid=181 Other than some residal break-in metals, it's showing a good report. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg AIM: AZP Installs | E-mail: paisan@azpinstalls.com | 725 Fairfield Ave | Kenilworth, NJ 07033 | T-1 Certified Amsoil Dealer "Race Tested, Enthusiast Approved!" BAC5.2
Subscribed. That's a terrible oil change interval suggestion. I one read, that Rao heard, that someone said, that they had read, that Rao heard to change your oil immediately before and immediately after driving the car. Also to change it in once in the middle of the night so it doesn't wake up fussy. tubasteve
My mom told me its bad to change the oil and that I should just top it off with antifreeze to keep the engine cool. She drives a walker, it has tennis balls.
