frank_ster
i'm poor.. the trans i feel just needs the aftermarket controller. as my car builds 20 lbs boost at half throttle. but when at half throttle the tranny is only running at half pressure! but i am more worried about rear diff . i really don't want to put excess money in the car right now. i already have the controller just need to take the plunge and install it. and i have already run 13.2 quite easily. fahr_side
Also kind of curious how that works... frank_ster
Well the 3.8 is externally balanced meaning the flywheel has a weight on one side. I tool the original flywheel and put it along side of the new flywheel on a rod that fits in the center hole. I then turn one flyheel 180 degrees from the other. Then i used the forkes as leveling rails, found the heavy spot of the two flywheels that are bolted together . And i just kept drilling a hole to remove weight from the heaviest point. Untill there was no heavy spot. So the new flywheel was countering the old flywheel . And thus i have a flywheel that is balanced the same as the original! HDTurbo
Great stuff! Funny - I had an '86 T-type for 22 years that, once I got on the "ura-buS", I couldn't envision trying to fix all the GM-inherent issues, so I sold it @ 94kmi for $500 less than I paid for it in 1988. Keep up the madness!
