mustangendsley
daily drive= no cool down hard driving=cool down ~1-2 min racing= cool down 3-4min this all depends on how far you drive and how hard you drive and the tep outside. Why let your car run for 10 min and cool down, your engine is still producing heat by the turbo.
jeepr
You don't need to let modern turbos cool. That was with turbos in the past. Well, it's in the owners manual of my 08 LGT to let it cool down a bit if it's been driven hard.
Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted December 10, 2009 Mega Users Share Posted December 10, 2009 How is hard driving different from racing??!?!??!?!?! Do you really think a 1-2 min distinction between these two arbitrary things is even necessary? Is this what you personally do or is it what you recommend? None of it depends on how hard you drive and the outside temps. These are water cooled turbos. These "automobiles" were "engineered" to "operate" within a certain "temperature range." I don't "understand" what you're "getting at" and I think your "tone" is a little "rude". Perhaps "next time" you'll respond with a "happier" reply.. .. and on that note we break for commercial: http://www.hulu.com/embed/eND2QDLaxNFEzq26ztRboA

Guest heightsgtltd
That was my point from post 2. The turbos, MODERN ones are designed so you don't need a turbo timer or to wait 10 minutes
LosAngelesLGT
I tend to only run my turbo in a freezer. I find it goes a long way to keep temps down. =D
Guest heightsgtltd
Really? I only run mine underwater so I don't need a turbo timer, the water cools it

Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted December 10, 2009 Mega Users Share Posted December 10, 2009 I totally got the sarcasm, and in turn responded with some of my own. It's really hard to convey that through text:spin:. It's really "funny" that you "posted" that "clip" because that's what I was "originally" referring to:lol:

94sportsedan
The thread was actually a question about whether you can or cannot make Smores with a red hot turbo.
Gire
Of course you can. And you can cook a 'bite and spit' stew in foil packaging on the turbo too... just get it red hot, and cook for 20 minutes. Just like we did at Scout camp out in the middle of nowhere. jmorris6689
i head that if you have a spec. b it does not need to cool off after extreme driving.
keithk831
i head that if you have a spec. b it does not need to cool off after extreme driving. This is true. That's what makes it the king of cars!
SCSpecB
Yep, but you can also put the heat generated to good use. I use mine to heat third world countries...and cook cornbread.
HipsterDoofus
I heard the spec b turbo actually turns into billions of particles when it reaches a heat that it might deem dangerous by its internal AI. When you stop, it reassembles, stronger and faster then ever.
