I hate the dangling trees that you put on the rear view mirror, and those new vent ones are really bulky and ughly. I recently tried buying these wax candle jar things that you twist open.c Anyway what do you guys suggest that isnt anything thats aesthetically displeasing? Anything you can hide from view? As for keeping the car clean... it's impossible to keep it DRY and clean.. even the wetness from the rain today is going to make the car smell a little "less" fresh. This may be too bulky but it works GREAT and I use it in the extra outlet in my cars. http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/oil-burners/prod170392 For scents (oils) I found the ones from White Barn Candle a.k.a Bath And Body work best. Most of it actually sticks into the vent and all you see is at most a 3/4" by 1/4" rectangle. I use them in my truck and they work well, especially when the heat is on. Funny thing is, it smells nothing like a vegatable. its sorta a citrus + sweet smell. i used the same in my old car. I put the refill sticks in my Cabin air filter.
