I'm ready to buy but I can't find it. Numberous suppliers from China and Hong Kong have now told me that Caska has stopped making the unit. Caska doesn't seem to be interested in responding to my many emails.

I'm willing to try the Chinease ebay, but I don't know what that is. The price should be around $700. According to Caska of Europe the maps are from Sygic. At one point I found the N. American maps for $60 but now it looks like they are $20.

A lot of Mazda drivers install caska... From what I gather it runs on windows ce.. I think the gps nav software runs off of the sd card and can be changed.. In fact I was reading about some app that you rename to the nav launch app that will actualy launch windows explorer when you hit the nav button..

I'm not having any luck finding the legecy/outback unit :(

Interesting.. it looks like it doesn't come with the AC controls

I'm trying a different approach

I emailed Sales@coagent.cn about the unit... Coagent is the actual company who makes them

they emaild me back with the following.

Also... i'm not sure. from looking at pictures it looks like it has an XM button... but its starting to look like you can not actually add xm radio :(

what I'm wondering... Rosen imports them to the united states and installs their own software on them... They also sale a kit that includes a little box and ribbon cable that will update the software.... I wonder if the Rosen software could be loaded on to the caska unit??

Thanks for re-posting the link, drift motion. I'll check it out. I've tried Caska/Coagent many times with no response. Nothing from Rosen either. Bunch of jerks.

Caska of Mexico is quite responsive, however. From what I can make out through the broken English, they have apparently talked it over with the factory and they will take a special order with delivery in 6-8 weeks. Who's in? Only 24,950 pesos... Oh wait, that's like $2024. Never mind.

Seriously though, I might be in for maybe half that if it's the real deal with maps and warranty. If anyone else is interested I'll ask to see how big of an order to get it down to $1000.

Do they drive on the right side in china??

looks like the unit was made for a RHD car... even looks to be gray and not black :)

There is no way in hell I'd spend $1000 on the Caska unit.

If it were in the $400 range, I'd consider it.

I'm surprised no one has gone about marketing a replacement cubby.

Makes me want to search for a portable nav unit with an appropriately sized screen, and install it.

I would love to install a 2 din hu in my cubby... I suspect that no one makes a kit because it couldn't be plug and play... There is plastic you would have to cut out behind the cubby.

There is a JDM kit meant to mount a nav system that is not nearly as deep as an hu... Some people have used the kit and just cut out the plastic behind it... The problem with this method is that the JDM kit is RHD... and it is not semetrical... This leave a gap on the right side that doesn't look verry good... In my opinion

Looks alright to me...

If all you really want is the nav you could just get the subaru one off ebay. I'm not sure what's involved or how much, but at least it would fit.

You could also tap into the the cig lighter power, run a power cord to the cubby and just velcro a portable nav to the cubby door.

But I want more than just the nav. I really want the iPod, USB and Bluetooth, MP3. The Caska has it all. I also, would like to keep my cubby. Great spot for my shades.
