famaya26
Hmm my JDM honeycomb grill doesn't seem to fit my spec B bumper. Everything I read says that this should fit rev A-C JDM spec B bumper and I bought them together from HKC.. Anyone know anything about this? http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/pp188/Ryan_Pineapple/4_zpsf1s2kdjx.jpg http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/pp188/Ryan_Pineapple/3_zpsa88aqcoq.jpg http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/pp188/Ryan_Pineapple/2_zpsi8uzi87e.jpg http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/pp188/Ryan_Pineapple/1_zpsqblkekuq.jpg Honeycomb was REV D-F but can be modified to fit REV A-C. Shogun506
Honeycomb was REV D-F but can be modified to fit REV A-C. Not cool I was definitely under the impression that these were compatible. Any info on what modifications need to be made/how to do them?
famaya26
They are. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160528/08385d436a3a484ceb01c8f856402548.jpg I asked a friend. Just need to redrill the holes and it works. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160528/3f36f4f88d2cb4ae7a4f7ff9b01bd9a2.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Shogun506
They are. I asked a friend. Just need to redrill the holes and it works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I appreciate it but that doesn't really make sense, there's a gap between the holes and the bumper, look at the pictures of the mounting holes. Maybe he's talking about those tabs at the bottom of the grill? Can anyone with this actual setup give any input on how they have their set up? Shogun506
Ok so I did some looking around and I can confirm it's not as simple as just drilling new holes. For future reference here's a guide: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/making-legacy-sti-grill-fit-99068.html?t=99068
madrig
yes the grill is different , bigger so the bottom gril will tilt more to the front , bottom bracket different ,top hole cause the tilt will not align but i twill fit ! you gone have a very nice front end !! valleylegacy
Not cool I was definitely under the impression that these were compatible. Any info on what modifications need to be made/how to do them? They (@hkc-speed) did not advertise correctly - you need to redrill 2 new holes at the top and cut 2 bottom tabs on the grill to make it fit. The JDM HONEYCOMB grill was designed for the 06-08 JDM models only in the SPEC B trim or the S402. JDM 06-08 Legacy is our USDM 08-09 style face but vastly different in terms of fitment and parts. Shogun506
Well I just sort of finished my conversion and it already looks great. I can't stop staring at this car. I still need to attach my STI lip and I did a TRS retrofit + light bars which I need to wire up as DRLs then it will be done. Even without the lip the car is already lower and almost touched my ramps when I backed off of them. The weather has been terrible here the last few days but it was worth the work. Can't wait to get some better weather so I can install the lip, wash the car and take some better pictures with my DSLR. Things I noted: -JDM headlight brackets were not required at all and the USDM ones are on there with no modification -The JDM bumper foam didn't seem to fit under the bumper even with a JDM bumper beam (or maybe I just positioned it wrong) but I just left it out -If you have front spats you might need to remove and reinstall them when installing the JDM fender liners -My bumper was held on at the corners by these 10mm bolts not pushpins like I read there would be. I wasn't able to fit push pins in when reinstalling -Holes on the undertray don't seem to match up but also don't seem to affect anything -The JDM white and USDM white are REALLY close, so much so that you can't really tell the difference between JDM and USDM white in those pictures. And now the biggest thing I learned - JDM license plates are smaller than North American! I have no front license plate right now until I can find an adapter or drill some new holes in my plate. http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=231418&d=1464822471 http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=231419&d=1464822471 http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=231420&d=1464822471

Shogun506
Ryan, car looks great. Our intention was not to misrepresent what we sell, I apologize if you felt this way. Lu HKC-speed.com It was an easy modification just would have liked to have a heads up. Thanks for the parts though. If I could suggest anything it would be to not use UPS in the future, I've never had anything but bad experiences with them. In this case they first tried to deliver the package at 9pm and no one was home. They marked the package as "will attempt delivery again next day". I made sure someone was home all day and no one ever came. Then for 3 days they had the status as "out for delivery" and I had to call them several times before I finally told them to just keep it at the warehouse where I had to go pick it up. **** UPS. WRX USA
Fiberglass bumper will be real expensive to ship, since the box will have to be HUGE!
battelready
Its not aftermarket. Its the subaru sports bumper. Relatively sure they're not fiberglass. But i got it for dirt cheap and in really good shape in my color. I did it thru buyee and apparently they have a couple different shipping options now other then ems. I bought a bumper beam from over there and total cost came out , shipped that is, like $100. I'm guessing your bumper skin is going to be at least $400 for shipping.
magnusonsubie
Shipping on my rear garnish came out to around $100. I think a bumper would probably come in around $250-300. 2005 Vader Wagon Material Tests on Ringland Failure Piston I should have held off and purchased a wagon instead of the spec.B

Yeah bumper skins are a bitch because of the size. I've shipped a lot of stuff from Japan including my fender liners and thought about buying my own bumper from there but decided not to for size concerns. Fender liners were about $100 for shipping alone and they weren't even very big. I didn't go through Buyee though so maybe they have their own method that will work for you. Interested in your final cost when you know it though.
