Official jdm conversion/aftermarket body thread

Recommended Posts

Fellas, I've been looking at swapping a clip but realized the OBXT "fender flares" won't line up w any of the available clips I've seen. Since the OBXT is mainly an American notion (to my understanding), I'm guessing my options are nil unless I want to fabricate onto said clip a continuation of that flare line?

Duh, Michael

The outback was released worldwide. Popular swap is front or rear outback ends, pretty much the only thing that works unless you wanted to change out the doors and do a bunch of work.

If you have a facelift outback you'll need to get a replacement hood as well. Jdm rear gets you exhaust cut outs.

Or just buy mine instead ;)

I need the hood as well, but I suppose that could be bought separately. I recently bought a spec b that has minor damage to the hood, light, grill, bumper, and upper rad support.

I also like the mesh style bezels surrounding the fog lights more than on the 3.0.

You can use your USDM hood for any swap you do. If yours is damaged it's better to find a local Legacy GT of any year and buy that hood for $100ish than pay for the shipping I would think.

Perfect fitment, just drop them in. Wiring isn't PnP but there's a forum member that makes a conversion harness. No additional JDM parts needed like with the rev D-f's.

Here's where you can buy the harness. Not sure if this is the same guy I'm thinking of.

On a similar topic, if I install a rev A-C bumper and jdm headlights, can I reuse the USDM headlight metal support brackets?

You can, but the alignment might be off a bit. I found when I did mine, I needed the JDM headlight brackets to get the best fit for the JDM bumper as the connecting tabs that fit into the headlight brackets are a little different from the USDM bumper tabs.

From this angle you can see how much shorter the JDM bumper is than the USDM
